CHAPTER 15: FROZEN IN TIME

*"Hmm"* Diane smirked as a mark was drawn from her left brow to her left eye, turning her left pupil white and giving her a very ominous and dangerous look. Scars surrounded her arms and back.

A nurse walked in to change her IV as she noticed Diane had opened her eyes. Being in static for a week she had gotten whiter and looked really skinny like a ghost, a vengeful ghost.

"Hmn..." Diane smirked making the nurse freeze dropping the tray in her hand, it makes a really loud noise as Diane immediately closed her eyes to it. Fortunately there was already cotton in her ear, that made the ringing a little bit better

The ringing stopped with her ears bleeding as Diane turned to the nurse who now had a terrified expression

"She seems naive, an intern?" Diane muttered angrily as she nurse bowed immediately

" I'm so sorry "

" I don't like noises" Diane frowned as the nurse moved back in fear

"I'm truly sorry"

" Grr..." Diane growled in a deep low voice making the nurse shook in fear

"I....I...I brought some....thing earlier, The do....doctors assumed you would be awake to....today" She stammered as Diane sat up

Diane turned to the table seeing a bowl covered, as she opened the food the pressure in the room became tighter.

"Porridge" She muttered as she remembered when Stephanie fed her what was leftover by Catherine all the time and she couldn't ask the maids for help

"What happened? You didn't like it?"

"...." Diane didn't reply

"Sorry but that's what the doctor recommended for a few days, you need your strength back inorder to move around"

" I understand, what of my friends, are they out there?"

"They were... For a very long time"

"Were?"

"They all received a call, I guess from their parents they had skipped a week's class and their semester's test was coming up in 2 weeks so they headed back first"

*" I totally forgot we had test"* Diane said in thought as she widened her eyes and gripping the bedspread tightly

" You shouldn't get agitated like that, you have stitches everywhere! " The nurse said as Diane noticed the whip marks had been stitched

" I'll be leaving now"

" You can't you've been bedridden for a week after a major surgery, you won't be able to walk, it would be too painful.... " The nurse said as Diane got out of the bed, her balance was wobbly as she tried to stand then held on to something

"Baby steps" She muttered walking slowly towards the door leaving the nurse frozen by her actions. After practicing Diane finally walked around the room by holding anything around for balance

"Hmn." She said then turned to the nurse

"Thanks for everything"

"Wait...you haven't been discharged yet..."

" You're right.." Diane replied as she walked to her file then scribbled on the paper handing it over

"Have the doctor sign this when he gets back." Diane said as she walked out.

The nurse who was in shock raised the paper as she opened it seeing discharged scribbled down in the doctors handwriting

"What is she?" She muttered before fainting.

Diane walked out of the hospital into the snow with the short, thin hospital gown as she looked around for a ride.

"Damn! I totally forgot the test!" She muttered as she stopped a cab

"Yale"

The man stared at Diane as blue and green veins were seen all around her body and her appearance wasn't presentable

"Just drive" She entered and ordered in a chilly voice as the man got shocked then drove off and got off at Yale

Diane ran into the the hostel, it was empty because everyone was out for test. She opens the door as she rushed into the bathroom

"They all so dead for this!" Diane muttered as she winced at the pain when water touched her body.

" F***!" Diane cursed as she continued bathing then ran out of the bathroom, she grabs a big white long sleeved shirt wearing a black baggy top with a skull imprinted on it with black baggy trousers, and black bands on her wrists. She used the hairdryer as her hair got really dry and frozen, puffing out in curls and falling down to her waist then she ties a black bandana to her forehead.

"Hmn, it's been worse" Diane muttered wearing a big silver circle glasses.

"Okay that's all, I should have...TEN MINUTES?!" Diane screamed as she ran out into the snow.

At Yale.....

Jackie arrived as she took her seat wearing a yellow bandana on her forehead

Jackie sighed at the empty seat beside her. Vanna, Vanessa and Courtney walked in too with bandanas on their fore head as they saw her then approached their seats beside her

"Hi Jackie" They greeted in a sad tone

"Hey guys" Jackie replied feeling down

"How've you been?" Harley asked as Astrid, Vanna, Vanessa and Courtney turned to her with a threatening look

" Been better" Jackie muttered as she looked around

" How's D?"

" .... She's..still at the hospital"

" AND YOU LEFT HER THERE?! WE HAVE TEST TODAY!"

" We know, and it's not like that...we got reported by SOMEONE that we were skipping classes" Harley said as Jackie froze

" It can't be..." Jackie said before freezing to the girls who were nodding at her

" Jessica.." Jackie said as Bobby walked in with Jessica, who was dressed as flashy as a night club

Her yellow dress radiated in the sun making it look blinding but elegant as she held Bobby's hand

"He didn't..." Vanna said as Jackie smiled sadly

"He did, he accepted the Xu's proposal"

"He's lost his mind!" Harley said

" Literally" Vanna added

" Yeah, doesn't even remember Xiao Yin anymore"

" Did you just say Xiao Yin?" Astrid asked as her heart skipped a bit at the name

" Yeah..that's my brother's original fiancee, that is until she went missing, it's complicated"

"Does this Xiao Yin have silver hair and eyes with the surname Long" Harley asked as her heart raced

" Y...You know Xiao Yin, Long Xiao Yin?!" Jackie asked as Diane arrived at college. She ran in the snow towards the VC'S office as it was closed

"Hmn?" Diane blinked then she saw a note sticking on the edge of the door

*"Out for a few days, call it vacation...be good have fun...you know what forget it, I'm out"*

" That..."Diane muttered angrily as she ran into the snow again

In class, a lecturer walked in as Jackie and the girls became tensed

Everyone settled down, the test questions from different courses appeared on the smart board tv.

"You've got 3 hours on these question and your time starts.... now"

"Could have called, does it take too much to call?" Diane asked as she arrived at Buizz Admin

"Fine then" She muttered as she walked towards the class, meeting everyone writing their test

The lecturer noticed Diane as he gulps down his guts trying not to shiver, her new pale white skin, deep black eyes and lower eyelids did not make that easy for him

Diane walked in as everyone looked up and silence covered the room with obvious fear written on their faces. The blueish and grey veins on her arms and neck growing to her jaw were seen as they made her look ominous and vengeful. Jessica froze at her look as she clenched her fist in thought

*"What does it take to kill this girl?!"*

Diane subconsciously turned to her both ladies locking eyes but Diane's intense and chilly gaze made Jessica break her gaze and turn away under pressure

*"F***!"* Jessica cursed as Diane smirked for a moment before turning back to the lecturer

"Am I late?" She asked with a deep chilly voice

"Not at all we just started"

"Hmn" Diane replied as she grabbed a paper walking to the front corner of the seat by the window, she looks down at the test questions then smirked.

The lecturer and class became confused at her weird behaviour

"You may begin" The lecturer said as Diane brought out 2 pen from her pocket. The whole class froze at her action then she heaves a sigh writing her answers to different questions with both hands flawlessly

"No way does such an ambidextrous person exist?" The lecturer muttered as he snapped out of it

*"No way, she must be writing nonsense, she doesn't understand anything after all, she's just a maid sent by her master...right?"* He muttered as he watched her like an hawk

10 minutes to the test Diane stood up as the the lecturer git startled, she turns in her paper.

"Y...you're done?"

"Yes sir" Diane replied as she walked out of the class

"Poor Diane, she's been in the hospital too long she must have almost no answers to the questions" Jackie muttered as the girls nodded.

*"I knew it, scholarship my foot, she's a dullard, must have slept with her master to get her into Yale's so she can brag to other lowlifes ..."* The lecturer said as the bell rang hours later

"That's it, walk out of the room, the test is done" He said as everyone walked out. He sorts out the paper as he noticed Diane's sheet had a full page answer. He picked it up to review it.

" Hm, she got question one, but that doesn't mean she'll get number 2....oh she did" The lecturer said as he reviewed Diane's paper

" WHATTTTT?!... She got every question right" He shouted as he sat down shocked

"She wouldn't have cheated I was watching her, never took my eyes off her the security camera would have beeped if anyone did...is she that smart?" The lecturer asked as he packed up the papers walking out

Students walked out as they chatted with one another

"It would be Christmas soon I can't wait!" A girl squealed

"We just finished out tests which means exams are fast approaching" The guy beside her said adjusting his glasses

" In 3 weeks actually" Another guys said as the girls scoffed

"Book worms" They said in unison walking away.

*"Christmas.....New years is approaching that means this year is about to end...10 years..Had 7 years but Jessica took 2 from me...i have 5 more years to live....I'd say it's about time..."* Diane muttered with an evil smirk

Sage walked out of her department as she meets Diane standing by the wall waiting for her

"Impossible...I must be hallucinating" Sage muttered as she passed by Diane

"After leaving me alone for a week and writing the test without me, you still walk out on me, you sure that's what you want?" Diane asked as Sage ran back to feel her temperature but froze at it's coldness with her teeth clattering

" Woah, you're cold"

"The weather's cold"- Diane replied as she looked bored then brought out a scarf from her bag

"You should wear thicker clothes" Diane said wrapping it around Sage who wore a turtle neck, black long trousers and a coat

"We didn't mean to leave you at the hospital..."

"Trust me if you didn't, I'd kill you" Diane said as Sage smirked her bangs covered her eyes and the back of her hair in a low cut.

" Love the longer bangs, gives the ivy league a fierce look" Diane said complementing Sage's hairstyle as she roughens it.

"How did you get out of the hospital? Your condition was really bad and the doctors said you weren't replying to treatment"

"That's true"

" So?"

" I haven't recovered" Diane replied as Astrid and the girls arrived

" You said what?" The girls asked as Diane turned to them indifferently

" I haven't recovered, there's nothing they can do for me anymore so why trap me in a dark room filled with tubes, I'd rather roam around in the sun, besides it's not like I can feel any pain" Diane said as the girls became shocked

" What? You thought I didn't know? Come on it's my body.." Diane declared as she raised her hand which was emitting smoke

" Sides the doc said the chill are stuck in my bones and flesh, may be I'm still here for a reason" Diane said as she sighed

"Anyways i'm hungry, see you guys later" Diane said as she walked away leaving the girls shocked by her new personality and her scary appearance.

"In a dark huge mansion ninjas, assassins and body guards walked around as they seemed really busy, a ninja suddenly appeared with a puff a smoke as he got on one kneel bowing.

" Young master... We've found the heir, and it is just like the rumours said"

The figure clenched her palm as she opened her deep red eyes

" Set course for Yale's I suddenly feel younger and the need to be unrestrained once more"

" Yes young master"

" I wonder how much you've grown dear sister" An ominous voice said but with a bit of fire and excitement.
