CHAPTER 13: FAMILIARITY

Later, the girls walked in as they met Diane and Sage asleep on their beds.

"Ah..." They all said in unison as Ruby shushed

"Shhhhh"

"Ahhh!" They yelped as Ruby sighed walking to her bed.

"Get some rest, some of you have early classes tomorrow don't you?" Ruby asked as she turned off the lights

"Hmn" The girls replied walking to their beds.

The next day the alarm rang loudly as the girls woke up

"Finally it's Saturday! No classes till Monday!!!" Harley screamed as the girls laughed.

"Hey why isn't Diane up yet?" Astrid asked as Ruby jumped down from her bed

"Uh.... assignment hunting is a really stressful job, she's probably beat from it all"

" Oh... that's what she went to do yesterday" Harley said as they all turned to Astrid

" What I know" Astrid said as they sighed.

" Let's leave her to rest a while then" Tamar said as the girls nodded

" I'm off to cook." Vanna said as the girls nodded

" Hmn"

" What hmn?! I need help" Vanna said as she draws Courtney and Astrid

"Byeeee" Harley said with a grin

Sage woke up as Ruby signalled her, she sighed standing up

" Hey, what's this? The sun rose from the west today " Harley teased before falling from a shoe thrown by Sage.

"Can you be lady like?!" Harley asked in pain as Sage held another shoe

"Wanna find out?" Sage asked as Harley smiled

" WHAT?! Astrid is short of arms? You need me immediately? On it!" Harley said running into the kitchen.

"I'm up!" Diane said springing up on the bed with the bedspread on her face.

" That's a way to tell people you're awake" Sage said turning away as Diane removed the sheets, smiled and turned to her. Her face radiated brightly and milky, she looked Caucasian, her eyes was also really bright and her pupils deep black as she looked really cute

"Hi Sage " Diane said blinking twice cutely, her face formed 2 little deep cute dimples as Sage chokes on her water

"Are you alright?" Diane asked startled as she jumped down from the top bunk, her hair bounced down roughly landing on her back and side of her face.

"Y.. yeah, just don't do that again, especially to boys... Ever" Sage said lost in her charm

"Why?" Diane replied

" You dare? "

" Nope"

"Good" Sage replied as Diane shrugged.

" What's for breakfast? I'm starving" Diane said as her stomach growled loudly

" Woah, you weren't kidding" Ruby said as Diane nodded

" Uh... Food's on the way, go freshen up"

"Okay" Diane replied as she hopped to the bathroom.

" Sage?"

"Yeah?"

"You looked stunned" Ruby said as Sage turned to her

"You're red, really red" Sage said as Ruby turned to the mirror then ran into the other bathroom. Sage smiled as she shook her head.

Minutes later Harley walked out

"Alright, it's time to eat!" She announced as Astrid served the dishes

"Hey? Where's D?" Astrid asked as Diane walked out

"Food!" She squealed dressed in nothing but her black robes.

Black veins were on her smooth white skin as they stretched out from her neck downwards

The girls widened their eyes as Diane didn't seem to mind

"It's a feast!" Diane said grabbing a steak as she munched down on it

*"Haochi! (Delicious)"* She said in thought as she continued eating the girls watched her eat with a smile on their face till she was totally full and laid back on the chair

"Arghhhhh that was the best meal I've had in years" Diane commented gently rubbing her unbelievable flat stomach

"Where did all that food go?" Harley muttered as Diane tapped her stomach lightly

"In here of course"

*Astrid :"I don't see it swelling..."*

*Harley: "what sorcery is this?! I demand an explanation!"*

*Sage and Ruby: "Shut it"*

*Harley:"Yes boss"*

"Now that that's settled... There are clubs in college right?" Diane asked as Sage turned to her

" You.... "

" I meant activity clubs, like singing, swimming ecetera ecetera "

" Yeahhhh " The girls replied

" Oh.. " Diane said as she turned to Sage and Astrid pouting

"No" Astrid said as Diane widened her pupils

"How did you...Awwnn so cute!" Astrid said as Diane blinked cutely

"Fine but call if anything happens"

"Yes boss, Sage?"

"I'm coming with you"

"Ok" Diane replied as the girls paused

"That..." Harley said

"Did not" Astrid added

"Go how" Harley said

" I imagined" Sage said as Diane ran inside then walked out in a black baggy top and trousers with a long black coat.

"Let's go!" She said as Sage sighed drawing out a black scarf as she ties around Diane's neck, then her neck

"Bye!" Diane said as she dragged Sage out

"Wait you didn't get the..." Sage said

"I did, it's in the bag" Diane cuts her off as the got on an ice skate shoes

"You planned this"

"Yup" Diane replied as they skated to college.

Meanwhile at the Lu's...

Jackie sighed as she looked out the window

"Speak up" Bobby said dropping his fork and knife as Jackie sat up turning to him

"What's wrong dear?"

"Nothing"

"Nothing? You've sighed 20 times in 2 minutes

" Oh..."

" Now out with it"

" I was wondering if I could go see her again"

" What did I tell you about...wait did you say her?" Clara, their mother said as Jackie nodded

" Who is this her she is referring to?" Clara asked as Bobby sighed

" A new girl in college"

"What's her name?"

"Diane" Jackie replied excitedly as Clara arched a brow

" Oh...is she American?"

" No Asian"

"Asian...Chinese?"

"Yeah" Jackie said as Clara stiffened a bit, Bobby noticed as he stared at his mother

"Mrs Lu, you should know losing compusure on the table is a bad behavior, unladylike"

"You're the unladylike one"

Bobby arched his brow as Clara fumed in anger

" Father" She said asking Old Lu for help

" You shouldn't speak to your mother like that...even if you are correct"

" Father..." Clara said as Bobby smiled

" Tyrants, you're all against me "

" Yes, yes when your husband was alive he protected you, no one dared talk to you anyhow or ever laid a finger on you, your precious husband, your love the light of your eyes, now that he's gone you're being bullied, where are the heavens to help you" Old Lu, Bobby and Jackie recited as Clara froze

" How did you know I was going to say that?"

" It's a daily mantra" Jackie said as she fled, Clara scoffed on anger

" You...."

" Composure Mrs Lu" Bobby said as Clara scoffed again sitting

" I'll take her to see Diane" Bobby said standing up and walking away

" Wait what?" Old Lu and Clara said in unison but Bobby was gone

" Is it my old age or did he just volunteer to see a girl?"

" I thought so too..." Clara muttered.

Jackie stared intensely as Bobby had changed into a black turtle neck sweater and black long coat with long black office trousers which defined his height perfectly while Jackie slipped into a long sleeved loose green dress and black coat too. They walked out of the manor to the car

"Young master" The driver bowed as Bobby signalled his dismissal. Jackie froze under the snow at Bobby's strange behavior

"Any minute and I'm gone"

"Ah bro! Wait for me" Jackie said as she ran after him entering the back seat

"Hey, I am not your driver" Bobby said as Jackie froze the smiled walking out if the car to the front seat.

"My mistake" She said giggling awkwardly

Bobby zoomed off as Jackie tried to pacify his anger.

Diane and Sage arrived at Yales as they parked their bikes, removing their helmet

"So what are you here for?"

"There's a boxing club right?"

"Hmn"

"Then I'll try that out first"

"Oh..." Sage said as Diane walked into the building heading towards the boxing club. She suddenly froze then turned to Sage

"You lead the way"

"Ok, that was creepy"

"You think so?" Diane asked as Sage picked the lock.

The duo walked into the boxing room as Diane smirked in a very evil manner after sighting the punching bag, a deep chill ran through Sage's neck as she sighted the smile.

"Heat easy on the bag okay?"

"I'll try" Diane replied taking off her clothes.

Bobby and Jackie pulled over at Yales as Jackie got off.

"You know it would be awkward and suspicious to see her at weekends if you aren't close friends right? "

" Ah? WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL. ME THAT?? "

" You never asked " Bobby replied as Jackie threw her helmet on him

" TAKE ME BACK HOME! "

Hey, it's not my fault you're not smart but you dragged me all the way here, shouldn't you compensate me?"

"Comp.... COMPENSATE?!"

"Yeah" Bobby said winking as he brought out his boxing gloves winking at her

"Here" He said throwing his bag at her

"What's this?"

"New clothes for boxing, I'll wait" Bobby said as Jackie cursed silently walking away. She came back later in shorts as she packed up her hair to a high bun

"Since I don't get to see Diane, I might as well settle with using you as a punching bag!" Jackie shouted as Bobby smirked

" That's the spirit" Bobby said as he hung his arm around her neck, the duo walked into the boxing room as they meet Sage lying on the floor staring at the ceiling as she seemed to be counting Diane's punches on the bag

"Nine hundred and ninety nine..... One thousand..." Sage muttered as Diane continued punching but she stopped counting

"Are you sure you're alright?"

"Yeah, I feel fine" Diane replied heaving heavily as her eyes were red and looked worn out. She wears in baggy gown which covered up her body

"You didn't wink an eye last night..." Sage said as Diane froze

"You....."

"I saw you" Sage replied as Jackie pouted sadly.

"Diane!" She called out as Diane and Sage turned to Bobby and Jackie in shock

"JK! What are you doing here on a weekend?" Diane asked as her hair sprang down on its own pouring all around her body to her waist

"My bro and I spar here every weekends, I didn't know I'd meet you here"

" Well that's cool" Diane said as Bobby trailed his sight to her dark circles, and red bloody knuckles and frowned. Sage trailed his sight as she noticed too and sprang up

"YOU DIDN'T USE GLOVES?!"

"It's fine, just a little red" Diane said replying to the blood patches understand her knuckles which was now oozing out.

" That won't do! As a lady you should take proper care of your body" Jackie said as she opened her bag bringing out some disinfectant spray

" Here, give them to me" Jackie said as Diane hesitated a bit before giving her hand.

" Now this may sting a bit"

" Oh.. " Diane replied as Jackie winced spraying Diane's finger.

*Diane; Great, now I won't be able to feel the backfire when little Teng touches me"*

Diane stared at the wound for a second, Bobby noticed she didn't react then arched his brow

"Aiyaaa! That stings!" Diane winced as she closed her eyes then opened one to peep at Jackie who looked like she was about to cry

"I'm sorry, it must hurt a lot uh?"

"Actually not that much" Diane replied clearing her voice

"Ah?"

"Just wanted you to coerce me" Diane muttered as Jackie's eyes widened in surprise

"Will you?" Diane asked as Jackie nodded

"Of course I will!" Jackie smiled as she pets Diane's hair

" There there. "

Diane hid a smile as she closed her eyes to Jackie's tender care.

" What are you doing here on a Saturday?" Bobby asked as Diane cleared her throat the removed her gown

"Same as you" She replied smiling as Bobby, Sage and Jackie froze at the black veins on her body. Her whip marks returned too as she had lost all her essence and strength and was no different from a weak baby.

"You..." Sage and Jackie muttered as Bobby suddenly grabbed Diane's drawing her out of the room. Sage turned to Jackie shocked then sighed as she walked towards the ring

"What happened?!" Jackie asked

Bobby walked out with Diane as he pulled her to his front. Diane arched an eyebrow

"Oh come on, you aren't ladylike anyways" Bobby blurted out as Diane got angry

"How did you get this marks?" Bobby asked as Diane frowned

" And why should I tell you?" Diane asked as an overwhelmed pain and tiredness covered her heart and body

"Were you maltreated as a child?"

"How would you like to know?"

"I'm not playing around!" Bobby replied agitated as Diane sighed out of strength

"....My master isn't exactly bodhisattva and I am not an obedient maid so I get punished a lot" Diane explained calmly as it sounded like a normal thing to her.

Bobby's heart suddenly ached as he felt like it was being cut out and squeezed

"Young master Lu, you didn't seem like the type to be interested in gossips? Why did you ask?" Diane asked angrily

Bobby gritted his teeth angrily as he closed his eyes

" I'm sorry I pulled you out like that, it....wasn't right"

" It's okay, I'm not lady like remember? " Diane replied as Bobby couldn't respond.

The wind became fierce as the snow fall increased

" Go in or you'll catch a fever" Bobby said as he took off his jacket attempting to cover Diane with it but she stepped back going out of his reach as his arms froze in the air

"Thank you for your kindness young master Lu, a slave like me doesn't deserve it, save it for your fiancee" Diane said as she ran away.

Her hair flew behind her as she ran while Bobby watched her silhouette

*Bobby:" Why do I feel this pain?"*

Bobby muttered holding his chest with his eyes closed, a little girl's image flashed through his eyes as she looked happy with long silver hair and her appearance was like a fairy, just like Diane

"Ah Ming, it's snowing again, sister won't let me go out so I can only sneak out to find you, are you angry I'm late?" The little girl asked as Bobby reached out to touch her, she faded into the wind.

"Little Yin" Bobby called out as tears fall off his eyes as he looked up seeing Diane's back silhouette running into the boxing room.

"What did I say?" Bobby muttered as he cleaned his eyes

"Why did I cry?" He asked again as the wind became fiercer

"What? Bobby isn't at home?" Jessica shouted as she sprang up from her chair, dressed in a curvy red dress that defined her shape and red jewelries

"Where did he go?!"

"Madam Lu said he went to college"

"Why would he go to college on a weekend?...." Mr Xu asked as Jessica suddenly gasped

"I know! He must have gone there to spar with Jackie...Dad I'll take my leave"

"Hmn" Mr Xu replied as Jessica ran out of her villa entering her car as she zoomed off.
