Hours later, Diane opened her eyes, her silver eyes shone under the moonlight rays as she shuts them back then slowly opens them again, she sits up slowly the wet towel fell to her lap, she feels something in her left wrist as she raised it up seeing a red thread tied to it, it stretched to Sage, then to Astrid, then Harley, Tamar, Vanna, Vanessa and Ruby.
Hot tears fills her eyes as they fell.
*Tying a red thread connected to 2 or more people especially if one of them is Ill means the healthy people are hoping to transfer their good health for the sick person*
Tears fell off her eyes as she silently loosened the thread on her wrist walking towards the window, the moonlight shone fiercely as she closed her eyes to it then jumped off to the roof. Sage opened her eyes after her little stunt as she followed stealthily too.
Diane sat on the roof with her legs drawn to her stomach her hair was let loose and freely flew behind her in the wind's direction. Her body radiated a bright light as she closed her eyes letting the wind fly past her face
"Basking in the moonlight?" Sage asked as Diane smiled
" You're awake... Yet you were never asleep " Diane replied as Sage walked up to her sitting beside her
" So what happened? "
" You almost died" Sage replied briefly
"A little more detail" Diane added with a smirk
" You came in with a high fever and passed out but I happened to be around so I helped out"
" That explains the towel... My marks... "
" Nobody else saw" Sage replied as Diane sighed
" I suppose you know my identity now "
" What identity? You're Diane no surname" Sage replied as Diane smiled resting her head on Sage's shoulder
" Thank you"
"One thing, The metal...How did you get it?"
" Surgery, it's a life force, my life force"
" So it can't be tampered with.. the person who put it .. " Sage asked alarmed as Diane smiled
" I predicted that, she's trustworthy"
" Ok" Sage said as she inserts a device into Diane's left ear, shocked Diane felt it
" An hearing aid?"
" Hmn, when I observed the marks on your body most of them seem to be from an explosion so your ear must be sensitive to noise"
" Tinnitus" Diane muttered with a smile as she gently stroke the hearing aid in her ear
"Must hurt a lot...Diane?"
" Yeah? "
" Although I don't know much about you ... And only just got to know your identity today, I hope you would trust me enough as a friend or a confidant " Sage said as Diane froze raising her head, she stared into Sage's deep hazel eyes while Sage stared into her deep red eyes. The wind distorted their hair as they both smirk, then turned to the full moon.
The next morning the alarm went off as usual and Harley turned it off, the girls got out of bed except Diane and Sage who remained in bed
"Are...you feeling better today D?" Harley asked as Diane gave a thumbs up, the girls sigh the froze in shock at the sight of Sage still in bed
"Uh .. sis, don't you have morning classes?" Astrid asked as Sage waved her hand
" Ookkk? We'll see you guys later then?" The girls asked in unison as Diane and Sage gave a thumbs up together. The girls walked out in confusion.
Seconds later Diane groaned as she stared up the bed
"Skipping classes?" Sage asked as Diane sighed
"Can I ask you a question?"
"Shoot" Sage replied
"What do you do if you see a long lost friend but due to issues that occured between you two and a huge guilt of an underlying dark past you can't let go, you can't approach him?"
" Well it depends on what the dark past is about..but since I assume you don't want to talk about it..I'd say you try your best to ignore him"
" Ignore him?"
" That's right, if you ignore him he'll eventually stop bugging you"
" He hasn't bugged me....yet, he has a fiancee so I assume he doesn't have a chance to bring up any silly stuff"
" Then if he does he shouldn't"
" Also, he seems to have forgotten about me"
" Is that good?"
" In a way?"
" I see, so you want him to forget you but you can't stand him forgetting you because if he forgets you, you'll feel forgotten because he is not supposed to forget you but he forgot you either way which he was supposed to do anyways right?"
" Exactly" Diane said as the girls got their attention diverted by the sound of a bag dropping
They turn to the door seeing Harley who stood smiling
" Go on, go on" She urged running out as she heaves a deep breath
*Harley: So that's what those two are like together? So confusing!"*
" I see, you're crazy" Sage replied as Diane sigh
" Why do you guys say that?"
" Who else told you?"
" The nurse who helped me during surgery"
" I see, so it's been confirmed, that's safe, do you have medications for it?"
" Sageeee"
" Don't....let me think"
"Ok"
" Play dumb"
" Ah?"
" Play dumb, if you act like you don't know him, then you two will never have a chance to meet, then he won't remember you and you get to remember him, problem solved"
" Hmn...really?"
" Yeah, now hurry up so I can help you with the spray, you've got some silver growing out"
" I do?!" Diane asked running towards the mirror, her hair had grown again stretching beyond her waist in silver colour and the root of her hair too had turned silver again.
" The spray" Diane muttered as she ran to Sage holding her hand and blinking cutely
"You could have just asked, also... Don't do that again, especially to guys, except one you trust..." Sage said before pausing
" Even the ones you trust" She added as Diane raised a brow then nodded
"Fine then, let me get the spray, I don't have black though, just red"
"Blood red like yours? That might be nice" Diane muttered as Sage smirked then they walked into their bathrooms separately.
Minutes later, as the water had washed off the black spray on her hair making it bright silver once again,
Diane wears her black robe walking out of the bathroom with her hair sleeping on her robe.
Sage stood seemingly waiting for her in her bored robe too as Diane smiled brightly running to her, she takes her seat as Sage dried her hair with an hair dryer, it puffed up full and extremely long.
Diane giggled at the sight of her hair in the mirror turning to Sage as she looked like a banshee. Sage smiled then curled her hair making it wavy and soft, before spraying with the red hair spray. Then packed up her hair to a knot holding it with a black piece of cloth leaving 2 wavy drops at the side of her face
After the hair cover up, Diane slipped big black top, a detached black sleeve and black baggy trousers making her asian looks stand out, her light silver eyes was covered with dark red contact lenses. She turned to Sage who already had her hair permanently dyed in red and was dressed in a black pant trousers and a red shirt.
"How will you handle the sunlight?"
"This" Diane said wearing in her slightly tinted reading glasses as they were circle making her look cute.
"Let's go" Sage said as Diane nodded following her out
The girls skated to college, taking the attention of everyone as they got off their board
"See you later" Diane said as Sage nodded they split
Diane arrived at her class again as students were already inside all chatting with their friends. The arrival of Diane made everywhere silent as she received glares from everyone.
DIANE: *Yish! what did I do?* Diane muttered in thought as she brought out her mask wearing it on her face then walked to the back of the seat as their stares lingered on her.
*DIANE: Uh... don't they know it's rude to stare at a girl like this?"* Diane asked as girl screams broke her thoughts
"Here we go again" Diane muttered as Bobby and Jackie walked in with 8 boys all looking handsome and tall. They were all dressed like rich kids.
Diane:*Do you have to make such an entrance?! Corky little...* She muttered as Bobby smirked walking past her as Diane widened her eyes in shock
"Fine, be that way, jerk" Diane muttered angrily as she took a deep breath walking towards Bobby who sat in front of the back seat. She arranged her books ignoring the angry glares all girls gave her.
Bobby slid a note under her table as Diane raised a brow at him, receiving it
"BOBBY: Do you regret ignoring me now?" Bobby asked as Diane removed her mask placing it into her book then she gave him a hard glare before thrashing his note, she packs her books and bag standing up
"In your dreams" She replied walking out as everyone murmured at her dismissal.
"Do you know her?" Miles one of the guys asked Bobby who frowned as she walked past Jackie who was about to say hi with a bright smile, seeing her expression, Jackie frowned turning to Bobby
"Oh oh" Bobby muttered as he quickly jumps out from the window
"Don't let me get you first!" Jackie shouted as she jumped out too, chasing him
Diane walked towards the VC'S office as she knocked then walked in
" I didn't say come in " Collins said sarcastically
" You didn't say not to "
" What now?"
" Are there any students I'm not allowed to murder, openly or secretly?"
" Nah .....yeah, there are 10 in number"
"So many?"
"Yh, their parents are sponsors of the colleges and are very influential, of course nothing is impossible but the process would be too long for me, why?"
" Does the name Bobby include that list?"
"Young master Lu? That's strange I thought you were still in touch"
"No" Diane replied coldly as Collins lighted a cigarette
" Funny, in the past he would be the last person you'd kill, now you look like if I give you the chance, he's a goner"
" Exactly"
" Then I can't"
" Thanks for nothing "
" Anytime kid" Collins said as Diane walked to the door
" You know you aren't supposed to be smoking on the job right?"
" Nah. Who's gonna know? You won't snitch would ya?"
" I have better things to do"
" Sounds like he jogged your memory, really brought out the dead personality in you kid"
" It's more than that"
" Well, let's keep those hands clean for now shall we?" Collins said as Diane stared at her hands
" Keeping them clean...how far has it gotten me?" Diane asked as she walked out of the door, Collins sighed
" I wonder if it's too late to take on another job"
Diane walked back to the class as she took her seat quietly at the back again. She suppressed her urge to kill with a candy stick glaring at Bobby's empty seat murderously
The lecturer walked in as he began the class. Jessica turned to Diane who seemed focus on Bobby's seat with a murderous intention, she clenched her fist angrily as the class went on.
The bell to end the class went off as the lecturer dismissed the class. Diane packed up her books seemingly heading to the next class as Robbie saw her
"Little devil?" He muttered as Diane froze
DIANE: *Little devil? Why does that sound familiar, yeah... it's a nickname for Diana as kids but no one has seen us for 10 years which means if Robbie recognizes us, they are all still in touch with the underworld*
Diane thought as she turned to Robbie smiling, she sees the remaining guys too but they were distracted and talking to each other so they didn't notice her
DIANE: *To think they've all become big boys, well it's nice someone still remembers the Long hei's gotta jet* Diane smiled dashing out of the class as Robbie frowned. Jessica witnessed their conversation
JESSICA: *Little devil? Seems like he knows something*
Diane ran out to art department as she heaves a sigh of relief.
"Woah, I didn't expect that" She said leaning unto the wall. Her hair was a little scattered because of her running about
What gave me out? My face?... No even Bobby couldn't recognize me, or couldn't remember me.... That explains all the weird stuff lately, but doesn't explain how Robbie remembered me at one glance! " Diane said frustrated as her golden coronet fell off, she noticed the Chinese character " Long Hei " written on it.
" Well that explains a lot" She said sarcastically as she picked it up throwing the coronet into her pocket
" But .. since i didn't acknowledge the name, he shouldn't know it's me right? It was just a guess, must be, I better prepare for his tests later, he won't let it go easily, I have to throw him off my track."
Diane said in thought as she loosened the black belt tied to her hair, it bounced down to her waist freely.
