CHAPTER 4: CONCEALED

The sun rose the next day, as Diane was sensitive to light so she crawled away immediately her hair was a mess and some of the hairspray were cleaned up. She quickly looked around then dashed into bathroom taking her bath robe along.

An hour later, the alarm rang waking up the girls as they stretched.

"What a long night" Harley said stretching as Astrid checked Diane's bed

"And how was your...." Astrid said trailing off as Diane wasn't on the bed

" Early bird?" Astrid said as Ruby walked up to the bed

" That's strange, there's no wrinkle on the bed" Ruby pointed out as Harley scoffed

" Couldn't she have straightened out her sheets after getting off, give real evidence"

" Then she straightened the ones on the pillow too?" Ruby asked as Harley froze

"Okay, I give up, do your job"

" You don't perceive anything wrong? " Vanna asked as Harley shrugged, Sage scoffed

" Some psychologist you are"

"Hey that was mean! Then check the bed to see if it's cold, if it is she slept, if it isn't she didn't! " Harley scoffed

" Hmn, I guess you are more useful when you are angry" Sage said as Harley growled

" Easy there tiger" Astrid said calming Harley as Ruby felt the sheets

" Ice cold" Ruby said

"So she didn't sleep through out the night?" Tamar asked in a concern voice as Sage noticed a the dark corner in their room seeing it facing the window

"She did, but not on the bed" Sage replied as Diane walked out of the bathroom silently and none of them noticed

" Morning guys" - Diane said startling everyone

-"Sorry, I didn't mean to do that"

"When did you get here?" Harley asked

"Just now, you all seemed to be lost in thought, did I distract you?"

"No, not at all" Astrid said as Diane nodded as they observed she was in a black bath robe with a silver robe belt, her black hair was dry and firmly packed up to a knot in the middle of her head as some strands fell at the back of her neck and some to the sides of her face

" Thank goodness then" Diane said with a low voice as they all froze then turned to each other collectively linked by their thoughts

*(not directly though)*

*Sage: That's unusual*

*Astrid: Right? We snooped around her bed and she won't scold us, what an angel!*

*Vanna: I thought we were done for, I can't imagine being awkward with my roommate, so embarrassing!*

*Ruby: No sweat she seems chill about it*

*Tamar and Vanessa: Still something about her creeps me out!"*

*Harley: I wonder if I could have some chicken and chips today*

They all turned to Harley frowning

*The girls: Dream on!*

*Harley: (bows in defeat) Come on guys you didn't have to be that harsh*

"Uh...don't you have morning classes?" Diane interrupted their psychic link as they all ran towards their bathrooms, making Diane smirk.

Diane got dressed in a black baggy jean and black baggy top for the rainy season wearing in her black detached sleeves. Her skinny figure made her look small for her age and her dead pale white skin made her look ghostly but her height evened everything out, hopefully....

She wore her black leather jacket taking out her only pair of slippers as they seemed worn out

*Diane: Hmn, it seems Grandma Yi was right, I do need to shop for new clothes"*

Diane said in thought as she took out her black card putting it in her black jacket.

"There safe and sound" Diane said as she turned to the bathrooms then gave a smirk wearing her face mask and tinted circle glasses

"There that should keep out the lights, I'M OFF GUYS!!" Diane signaled as the girls stuck out their hand waving it to send her off as she left.

"Sigh poor Diane seems too nice for this world, I wonder how she would survive here at Yale" Harley said as the girl became gloomy

Meanwhile Diane...

"ATCHOO!! Is someone talking about me behind my back?" Diane whispered as she shrugged it off

" I probably should get my my letter acknowledged" Diane said as she brings out a black skateboard

*" Diane: You know...thinking back at it, I probably looked stupid running away from home when I could have just skated my way to the train station, all that calories burned, what a waste!"*

Diane said in a low dead tone

*Diane: Well, there's no use thinking about it now"* She said skating off to college

Since Yale was an elite college filled with the *creme de la creme* people stuck to whoever they knew or thought was of their taste and class.

Diane rolled in as the students stared at her

*Diane: As if it wasn't enough to attend college, I have to deal with, now I have to avoid all these gazes, grandma if I don't know any better I would suspect you of attempted forced socializing.... If it were a real thing"*

Diane got to the VC's office as she smoothly got off her board midair catching it in her hand.

*" Diane: Well since there is no use contemplating about it now, I might as well just go with the flow"* Diane thought knocking on the door

" Come in" A lady's voice said from inside as Diane walked in bowing 90 degrees

" Morning ma, I'm a new student on scholarship, I am here to confirm my admission physically, I'm...."

"Young master Silver" The lady's voice cuts in

Diane paused then asked in thought still bowing

*Diane: "Why do i find that voice familiar?"*

"You know me?" Diane asked out loud

"Of course I do, I would recognize anyone that old hoof sends here"

*" Diane: Old hoof? That must Grandma Yi, some old enemies of hers? Somehow that doesn't surprise me"*

" You know Grandma Yi?"

" Know her? I wish I didn't." The VC said as Diane raised her head

" Crap it's a trap!" Diane said as the lady bore a striking resemblance to Grandma Yi

" Of course it's a trap, that old geezer only knows to trick people, although considering her attitude when she told me about you, I had no choice but to take you in"

"Grand aunt, what are you doing here?..." Diane asked in a bored monotonic tone

"...Wait! The one who accepted my admission...."

"Was me, yes"

*" Diane: If grand aunt works here... She and Grandma probably have a fortune lying somewhere, why would she work for Ms Stephanie? Suspicious*"

Diane said in thought

" Since you're here it seems she was serious about you, which is a pretty big deal since the old geezer never takes anyone seriously"

*" Diane: uh...you do realize you are the same age right? So if she is an old geezer that doesn't make you any lesser than an old geezer too! Crap! How am I the one realizing this?! Also! Why do both grand relatives look like my aunt! That is so weird!"*

" Bring your files over" The VC said as Diane dropped her files

" Here's your pass, you can attend classes now, since you were trained by her, I don't need to explain the rules to you, they would be useless since you would break them anyways. No murder cases, and if there has to be one be discreet about it, try not to be sent here everyday, at least once a week."

" Can do grand aunt" Diane replied taking her pass as she walked out

" Hmn...this might work...oh who am I kidding?" Collins said laying on the chair

Diane walked out heading for Commerce department

"This should be the class right?" Diane muttered before getting interrupted by squealing and voices of excitement

Voice no 1: "The young master and his sister are both here!! I heard he was attending this college but I didn't know it was true!"

Voice no 2: " What do you know? The young master is at the second best in the business world, it only makes sense he attends Y university!"

Voice no 3: "Yeah but with brains like that would the lectures even be able to keep up?"

Voice no 4: " With brains like that would YOU be able keep up?"

Voice no 3:"Shut up!"

" College" Diane said in a low tone as heads into the class before being stopped by 2 figures, she looks up seeing 2 tall girls stretching out their arms

"What are you doing?" Diane asked

"TCH, who do you think you are?"

Diane paused a little confused, she soliloquies

Diane: *"Did the bully system change? I thought you'd at least get to know the target before bullying"*

" No one is allowed to enter the class before our idol does!" The second girl said as Diane stared in silence

*Diane: *"Oh so that was what this was about, these crazy fan girls just keep getting advanced by the years, whatever I guess since I have promised Aunt Li, I shouldn't go out of my way to break it ...yet "* Diane said as she backed out slowly joining the crowd.

A tall guy dressed in a black shirt and ankle office trousers passed by. His blonde hair was swooped back in an average ponytail, his shirt rolled to his elbow and his tall long legs took large steps into the class.

He was followed by 2 girls, one had long black hair fallen to her elbows and was dressed in an off shoulder pink fitted dress, while the other had blonde long hair packed up in a messy bun, dressed in a black short sleeveless flared gown with silver belt

After they both entered taking their seat at the front middle row of the class, everyone rushed in taking their seats at the sides far away from them leaving the middle row

Diane raised her brow to their actions before her name got called out

"Yo D!" Harley said

"Harley... You also have a class here?"

"Yeah, CPSC, Computer science"

" Borrowed course? "

" Yup"

" I see"

" Computer isn't my strong suit, so... I'm glad they'll also be here"

" They..... " Diane asked as Vanna, Tamar, Astrid and Vanessa showed up

"Oh, you all offer CPSC too?"

"Yeah, tech is the future so we need to be tech-wise" Astrid said as Diane nodded.

" What of Sage and Ruby?"

" They got caught up with something but would join us soon" Astrid said as they all walked in

Everyone turned to them staring as the class became pin drop silent

" Woah, the class seems filled up....how about we.." Harley said as Diane turned to the empty spaces in the middle

" What does she mean filled up, the space in the middle isn't invisible is it? Or am I seeing things? " Diane muttered walking towards the empty spaces

" Seems free to me" She said turning to the girls

" Are you coming or what?" Diane asked as the tall girl who stopped her from entering earlier stood up stretching her hand to stop Diane from sitting

" What is this again?" Diane asked as the girl, Catherine scoffed

" Who do you think you are having no respect for our idols?!"

" You said your idols, not mine, why should I respect them?" Diane asked as the whole class became silent

" You...who do you think you are talking to them like that?!"

*" Diane: Seems like 'Who do you think you are' is her only way of asking questions, did Aunt Li scam me with this college, still I have to keep my composure for Aunt Li"*

" I'm sorry if I disturbed you, but there really isn't any other seats left and the middle row seems to be free"

" Tch, Hey you must look so bad, you even have to cover up your face with the goggles and nose mask, Who left the kennel open..." Catherine asked as everyone except the blondes laughed out

"Grrrr!" Harley growled as the girls growled too but couldn't fight them because of their backings.

" .....it seems strays got into Y university by mistake, didn't your mothers tell you this wasn't a place for cast aways? Think you can surpass our belle in college, You can think again, Jessica is the best beauty in the school and the perfect match for The young master!"

Jackie, the girl with the blonde long hair that walked in earlier turned to Jessica, the one with the black longer hair as she avoided eye contact.

Jackie's face changed as she became angry while Bobby didn't react.

" HEY!" Harley shouted as they got surrounded by tall well built men that seemed to be bodyguards

"That was too far don't you think? Even if you want to exercise your power as a rich kid you should at least respect others, and their parents, it's the most basic manner for a girl" Diane said as she wrapped a bandana around her left hand

"You .... " Catherine fumes as she raised her hand to hit Diane who caught it mid air

*"Diane: It seems Y University is really what aunty said it would be"*

Diane said in thought as she squeezed on Catherine's hand a bit making her whine in pain before releasing her.

Catherine backed out with a face filled with fear trying to avoid Diane's gaze, Ruby and Sage walked in meeting the scene.

"Nice speech, but when did I say Jessica wasn't the belle of your college? Or when did I bring up a challenge about your wealth?"- Diane asked as the class mumbled staring at Catherine

-"If a fight is what you are looking for then I would gladly entertain you, but if you just want to mess around with me, I'm afraid I can't let that slide ok?" Diane said as Catherine took off her mask, her milky cheeks were revealed with her slim chin giving off an oval thin line jaw, and pink lips that glistened in the light, the whole boys whistled in excitement

" What did you achieve by doing that? I could as well easily walk in with my standards but I don't sell my self short like other people..." Diane said turning towards Jessica

" If i want to exert dominance I do it, I don't resort to petty tricks like this hmn? Sides the young master you said sounds like a biased crook for you to fight over him like this. This isn't a Korean drama where I would be fighting multiple girls for a guy I am here to study and if you aren't it's cool, just lay off me dude ok?" Diane said without taking a break as Catherine nodded slowly. Sage and Ruby smirked again as they turned to the rest

" Let's go sit" Harley said with a bright smile running towards Diane

Sage and Ruby smirked also walking up to Diane with the rest as they took their seats

"That was the longest words I've seen you say ever, I guess you must have been pissed off uh? " Harley said as Diane sighs

" There's the D I know" Harley said as Diane smirked

" Clown" she replied as the girls laughed out shortly.

"Hey since you look like an Angel under that mask, why do you hide yourself?" Astrid asked as Diane smiled

" Some beauty are meant to be displayed in the lights for its majestic view while some can't, even if they want to, everyone is beautiful, and they don't need a face or body shape to show for it, it's their thoughts that count" Diane said as the girls became speechless nodding to her words subconsciously

"Okay why didn't you guys tell me you were attending this class?" Diane said smiling brightly as cute dimples made their way to her cheeks making her look really cute

"It's their fault" Sage and Ruby said replied

"Snitches!" Harley replied sticking out her tongue

" We wanted to give you a surprise but you beat us to that" Astrid said softly as Diane bowed smiling

" You didn't even give us a clue!" Vanna said as Diane chuckled

" You guys are cool and nice, why should I show you this side of me?"

"Well I'm not that cool" Harley mumbled

" We know" The girls replied in unison as they smiled

Jackie stared at Diane form afar

"Hey bro, I want friends like that"

"Why tell me? Beside don't you have dozens of friends"

"Those are not friends, they keep me around for my money, honestly they can't even hide their pretence"

"If you want genuine friends you should let go if material wealth and be yourself" Bobby said as Jackie turned to him

"Do you mean it? You'll be a donkey if you're lying" Jackie said as Bobby scoffed

" Tch! Childish" Bobby replied as Jessica turned to Diane silently growling with a clenched fist.

The lecturer walked in minutes after as he made eye contact with Diane, she gives him a glare as he felt chills down his spine

He looked away immediately as he began to lecture, avoiding Diane at all cost.

"Here are your assignments, class dismissed"

"Thank you Mr Charles" The students said as he nodded, running off immediately. Diane and her roommates walk out together

"If I didn't know any better i would say Mr Charles was afraid of someone" Harley commented

" Well I'm off to the next class, bye! " Astrid said running off

" We also have classes to attend, see you" Vanna said walking away with Vanessa and Tamar

"See you in the hostel" Harley winked as she dashed off too

Sage, Ruby and Diane watched everyone leave then gave a nod at each other before separating to their various classes.
