“You followed me? That’s insane!”

Arvin:

“Don’t turn this on me, Lila. Who is he?”

Lila hesitates, then sighs, crossing her arms.

Lila:

“Alright, fine. His name is Caleb. So what? He’s just a friend.”

Arvin:

“A friend doesn’t make you blush like that. A friend doesn’t hold your hand when you think no one’s looking. Do you think I’m an idiot?”

Lila’s expression hardens.

Lila:

“Maybe if you weren’t so predictable, I wouldn’t need someone else to make me feel alive!”

The words hit Arvin like a slap. He steps back, his face pale.

Arvin (quietly):

“So this is my fault?”

Lila (coldly):

“Maybe it is.”
