Miracle Faith Madrigal’s POV

When I woke up in the morning, Dwayne was already gone. He had probably gone to their company.

I took a bath before going downstairs. I saw Mommy preparing the things they would bring to the resort.

I call Dwayne’s mom “Mommy,” while I call my parents “Mom” and “Dad.”

“Mommy, are you leaving now?” I asked, and she smiled at me.

“Yes, take care of things here, okay? We might stay there for two weeks.”

“I thought you’d only stay for one week?” I asked. Sham, Jaxon’s wife, answered instead.

“It got extended. But if you and Dwayne have time, you can follow us there,” she said with a smile.

“Hi, Auntie Miracle.” I turned to see who called me—it was Lian, Lily’s child. Lily already has a husband and a child, while Jaxon and Sham have two kids.

“Hi, baby Lian.”

“Auntie, aren’t you coming with us?” he pouted, which made him even cuter.

“No, but your uncle and I might follow later,” I replied, and he laughed.

“Dear, we’re leaving now,” Mommy said as she bid goodbye.

“Take care,” I replied.

When they left, I went to the kitchen because my stomach was growling.

“Manang, what’s for lunch?” I asked the housekeeper.

“We have adobo and kare-kare,” she answered.

“I’ll prepare your meal, ma’am,” she said as I sat and waited for my food.

After eating, I went upstairs to prepare what I would wear later.

I was now in the garden, passing the time. It was boring, especially since I had no one to talk to.

At 6 o’clock, I started getting ready. I wore a black dress that wasn’t longer than my knees and a pair of one-inch sandals. I applied light makeup. The dress fit me perfectly, highlighting my figure. My belly was also slightly showing now.

“I wonder where Dwayne went. He said he was visiting a friend yesterday.”

Ring, ring, ring My phone rang.

“Hello?”

“Hi, Miracle, it’s Carl,” he said, and I couldn’t help but smile. It had been a while since I last heard his voice.

“Carl! How are you? Why are you only calling me now?” I asked excitedly.

“Sorry, I didn’t know your number. I got it from Hannah when we met at the mall.”

“Are you going to Miya’s house?”

“Yes. Miracle, are you going?” he asked.

“Yes, I am,” I replied.

“Who are you going with? Your husband?” he asked teasingly.

“No, he has somewhere to go, so I’m going alone,” I said sadly.

“How about you? Who are you going with?” I asked him.

“Of course, my wife and child,” he said. Carl already has a child. Like Laila, Miya is also pregnant and due to give birth soon. That’s why they came home, so she could give birth here. They’re the only ones among our friends with kids.

“We’ll pick you up since we’re near your house,” he said before ending the call. I couldn’t refuse, so I waited outside the house.

Dwayne Lexus De Villa’s POV

I was at my friend’s house, who had just returned from the US. We were chatting about what had been going on in our lives.

“Honey, I’ll just go outside. I think our friends are here,” Dilan’s wife said to him, and he nodded.

A few minutes later, we heard their laughter. I didn’t bother to look at them.

Percy tapped me and gestured toward the back. I copied him because I didn’t understand what he meant.

He gestured again, and I wondered what he was signaling. When I turned around, I saw Miracle looking at me.

“Hobby!” she called, drawing everyone’s attention to us.

“Baby, what are you doing here? Why didn’t you tell me you were coming here? We could’ve come together,” I said.

“I didn’t know you’d be here,” she replied, pouting, which made her look even cuter. I fell even more in love with her.

“You know each other?” Dilan asked, confused.

“Yeah, she’s the one I was telling you about earlier,” I said. Miracle walked over to me and sat beside me.

Miracle’s friends started arriving one by one.

“Oh, Miracle, I thought Dwayne wasn’t coming with you. Why is he here?” I heard one of her friends whisper to her.

“I didn’t know that Dwayne’s friend was Miya’s husband. He even arrived before me,” Miracle replied.

We all gathered in the living room to drink. Miracle sat beside me, of course.

The seating arrangement was as follows: Miracle and I were beside each other, followed by Yuri and Lala, Mark and Kathy, Lucas and Andrea, Jackson and his wife Hannah, and Harve and Carl, who were also married. Then there was Dilan and Miya, our friends who had just returned from the US. Lastly, Percy sat alone in a solo chair.

Poor Percy—he didn’t have a partner.
