Miracle Faith Madrigal’s POV
I’m in my room right now because I’m tired. I just let them have fun downstairs. I also let Dwayne drink alcohol with his friends. My friends couldn’t come because they’re all busy with work, but they promised to make it up to me during their free time, so I agreed.
I didn’t realize I had fallen asleep because of exhaustion. I only woke up when I felt hungry.
As I was walking down the stairs, I could hear Dwayne and his friends laughing. I glanced at the clock and saw it was already 7:50 PM. Their attention turned to me as I walked by, but I just smiled and headed to the kitchen. I overheard one of Dwayne’s friends speak.
“Bro! Is she your wife?” one of Dwayne’s friends asked. I didn’t recognize the two of them.
“Yeah,” was all he said.
“She’s beautiful, bro!” said one of them. I didn’t catch the rest of their conversation because I was already in the kitchen.
‘I wonder where Mom and Dad are. Why aren’t they here?’ I thought as I stood up to look for Mom. I didn’t get a chance to talk to them because I had fallen asleep.
I was walking toward the living room to ask Dwayne where Mom was.
“H-Hi, ahh, Dwayne. Where’s Mom?” I asked shyly.
Who wouldn’t feel shy when everyone is looking at you, and they’re all so handsome? But Dwayne is still the most handsome—true love, haha.
“They’re at the back, in the garden,” he said. I was surprised because he spoke in Tagalog. It’s rare for him to do that. I wonder what got into him. Oh well, never mind.
“Okay, I’ll just go see Mom,” I said as I excused myself.
“Stay here for a moment. I’ll introduce you to my friends,” he said. I felt shy but walked toward them anyway.
I sat beside him and just smiled at his friends. They smiled back at me.
“I’m Miracle Faith Madrigal,” I introduced myself, still shy, so I looked down.
“I’m Percy.”
“I’m Mark.”
“I’m Yuri.”
“And I’m the most handsome among the four of us, Lucas,” one said, which made me laugh. He immediately got a playful slap from his friends.
“You’re so full of yourself, bro. Look in the mirror first. I’m the most handsome,” Percy said, making me laugh even harder. They’re so full of themselves—it’s funny. They’re like kids.
“I’m the most handsome,” Yuri said, pouting.
“No way! It’s me. Stop kidding yourselves. I’m the most handsome,” Mark interrupted.
They started bickering about who was the most handsome among them. I just shook my head at their arrogance. They’re like kids.
“Stop it, guys! To settle this, let’s ask Miracle who the most handsome is,” Yuri suggested, and they all turned to me.
“Miracle, tell them who the most handsome among us is,” Yuri said.
I looked at Dwayne, who seemed annoyed with his friends.
“Ahhh, um, w-why do I have to get involved in that?” I stammered shyly.
I glanced at Dwayne again. He was clearly trying to control his temper.
“Stop! Cut it out with your arrogance. I’m more handsome than all of you,” Dwayne said.
Now that’s even more arrogant!
“Isn’t that right, baby? I’m more handsome than them,” he teased me.
“Wait, guys! There’s too much wind here; I might get blown away,” I joked.
When I looked at their expressions, they all looked a bit sad.
“I’m leaving, guys. I’m going to the garden because it’s cold here. The wind is so strong—I’m afraid there might be a storm later,” I joked and ran off.
I saw Mom and Tita talking and looking so happy.
“Hi, Mom, Tita,” I greeted them.
“Oh, dear, don’t call me Tita. Just call me Mommy,” Tita—no, Mommy—said happily.
We talked for hours until someone called my name.
“Miracle, let’s go. It’s late, and staying up too late isn’t good for you,” a cold voice said. I turned to see where it came from—it was Dwayne. I was used to his cold tone; it felt like ice.
We went to our room. I quickly took a half bath before changing into my sleepwear. I lay down beside him, hugged him, and buried my face in his neck. He wrapped his arms around my waist until sleep took over.
