EPISODE 6

Miracle Faith Madrigal POV

"Dear, invite your parents to come here so we can meet them," Dwayne's mom happily told me.

"Alright, Auntie, I'll call them." She smiled at me, and I couldn't help but smile back.

"Okay, I'll have something cooked for dinner so we can all eat together."

"Excuse me, Auntie, Uncle, I'll just call them."

"Go ahead, dear," Auntie and Uncle replied in unison.

Ring

Ring

The phone barely rang twice before my mom answered.

"Hello, Miracle."

"Mom, Dwayne's parents want to meet you and Dad. I'm sure you'll get along well with his mom." I felt happy now, and my fear that Dwayne's parents might be upset disappeared—but I was wrong.

"Alright, your dad and I will come," she said. Even though I couldn't see her face, I knew my mom was smiling. I ended the call.

Suddenly, I felt arms wrap around my waist, so I turned around to see who it was.

It was Dwayne.

"Did you call them, Auntie?" he asked.

"Yes! They said they're coming."

"Let's go inside the house; it's cold out here," Dwayne said.

"Let's wait for them, Mom." He sighed before nodding at me. The surroundings were starting to get dark.

After a few hours of waiting, I saw my parents' car approaching the gate. I walked toward it, feeling Dwayne follow behind me.

"Mom! Dad!" I called, waving my hand at them.

I hugged them tightly.

"Hi, Auntie, Uncle," Dwayne greeted my parents politely.

"Let's go inside!" Dwayne invited.

We walked into the house. Once inside, Dwayne's parents looked at us with a smile.

"Long time no see, Mateo," Dwayne's dad suddenly said. I was surprised to find out he knew my dad.

"Long time no see as well, William! It's been ages, and you've changed a lot! You weren’t this built before," my dad replied with a smile.

"Hon, you know each other?" Dwayne's mom asked in surprise.

"Yes, Hon," my mom agreed with a nod.

"Oh, we’re friends, childhood friends, actually. He’s the one I’ve been telling you about," my dad explained happily.

"Take a seat," Auntie said, gesturing to us, so we sat down, and they began chatting.

"How have you been, Mateo? It’s been so long since we last saw each other," Uncle said.

"Yes, it really has been a long time! The last time I remember seeing you was at your wedding," my dad said cheerfully.

"I didn’t even know you were married. I thought you’d stay a bachelor forever," Uncle teased, making my dad laugh.

"I tried to contact you before my wedding, but I couldn’t reach you," Dad explained.

"You had also moved out of your old house," Dad added.

"Sorry, buddy. I wasn’t able to tell you. We moved and lived in the U.S., and we sold that house," Uncle explained.

"It’s okay," Dad replied.

"Hon, why didn’t I see him at our wedding?" Auntie asked Uncle.

"I didn’t get to introduce him to you because he had to leave due to an issue with their company," Uncle explained, and Auntie nodded.

"I didn’t know our children would end up together, William," Dad said happily.

"Yes, it’s quite surprising," Uncle agreed.

"By the way, this is my wife, Michelle," Dad introduced my mom.

"And this is my wife, Abigail," Uncle added.

"Nice to meet you," Mom said warmly.

"Nice to meet you too, Michelle," Auntie replied.

I couldn’t help but smile because it seemed like they were getting along well.
