Chapter 2: Unexpected Encounters

Two days later, Maya sat in her favorite café, laptop open in front of her as she edited a marketing report for work. She was so focused on the screen that she didn’t notice someone sliding into the chair across from her.

“Busy, Sunshine?”

Her head snapped up, her eyes narrowing in disbelief. It was him. He leaned forward on the table, resting his forearms there, his gray eyes sparkling with mischief. He wore a dark leather jacket this time, a stark contrast to the soft warmth of the café.

“You again?” she asked, eyes narrowing. “Do you make it a habit of bothering strangers?”

“Only the interesting ones,” he replied with a grin that could have lit up a stormy sky.

Maya leaned back in her chair, crossing her arms. “Well, I’m not interested.”

“Shame,” he said, tilting his head to the side, studying her like she was a puzzle he was dying to solve. “I thought we had a spark.”

“Only thing sparking here is my patience running out.”

His grin widened. “Feisty. I like that.”

Her cheeks warmed, but she kept her face neutral. “What do you want?”

“Coffee,” he said, his gaze flicking to the counter. “But I saw you and figured I’d say hi. Name’s Adrian, by the way.”

“Maya,” she muttered, not sure why she was giving him her name.

“Nice to meet you, Maya,” he said, his voice softer this time. “I’ll leave you to your work… for now.”

He stood and sauntered away, leaving behind the faint scent of cedar and rain.

She watched him go, lips pressed into a thin line. People like him—cocky, too smooth for their own good—weren’t her type. Not my type at all, she told herself.

But her eyes lingered on him a second too long.

(Title: "In Your Eyes")

Verse 1

I was drifting in the dark,

Searching for a spark,

Then you came and found me,

Like a lighthouse in the sea.

Your touch, it healed the scars,

Now I'm dancing with the stars,

In a world that’s full of noise,

You’re the melody, the quiet voice.

Pre-Chorus

Every moment that we share,

Feels like magic in the air.

No need for words, I just know,

With you, I’m never letting go.

Chorus

In your eyes, I see forever,

A love so pure, it’s like the weather.

Sunshine through the stormy skies,

All I need is you, in your eyes.

In your eyes, I find my home,

A place where I’m never alone.

Every dream, every sigh,

I’ll live them all in your eyes.

Verse 2

You paint my world in colors bright,

Turn the darkness into light.

With every laugh, with every tear,

I know I’m safe when you’re near.

Your love’s the anchor that holds me tight,

Through every battle, every fight.

And in the silence, we’re aligned,

Two hearts beating, intertwined.

Pre-Chorus

Every moment that we share,

Feels like magic in the air.

No need for words, I just know,

With you, I’m never letting go.

Chorus

In your eyes, I see forever,

A love so pure, it’s like the weather.

Sunshine through the stormy skies,

All I need is you, in your eyes.

In your eyes, I find my home,

A place where I’m never alone.

Every dream, every sigh,

I’ll live them all in your eyes.

Bridge

Even when the world turns cold,

In your arms, I’ll never grow old.

With every heartbeat, we’ll rise,

Together, forever, in your eyes.

Chorus (repeat)

In your eyes, I see forever,

A love so pure, it’s like the weather.

Sunshine through the stormy skies,

All I need is you, in your eyes.

In your eyes, I find my home,

A place where I’m never alone.

Every dream, every sigh,

I’ll live them all in your eyes.

Outro

In your eyes, in your eyes,

I’ll live them all in your eyes.
