Seduce

The idea struck Wei WuXian one lazy afternoon as he lounged in the Jingshi, watching Lan WangJi meticulously write out sect documents. His husband’s serene concentration, paired with his striking features, was enough to make anyone swoon.

But Wei WuXian wasn’t anyone. He was Wei WuXian, and he lived to tease.

“Lan Zhan,” Wei WuXian called, dragging out the syllables.

“Mn?” Lan WangJi responded without looking up, his brush gliding smoothly across the paper.

Wei WuXian smirked, sitting up straighter. “Don’t you think you’ve been working too hard? Maybe you need a little… distraction.”

Lan WangJi paused for a fraction of a second before continuing to write. “I am focused.”

“Focused? Oh, Lan Zhan, we’ll see about that,” Wei WuXian muttered under his breath.

He slid off the bed and sauntered over to Lan WangJi’s desk, deliberately exaggerating the sway of his hips. “Lan Zhan,” he whispered, leaning down so their faces were close, “don’t you think it’s a little unfair? All this attention on paperwork when I’m right here?”

Lan WangJi’s hand paused mid-stroke, but his expression remained calm. “Wei Ying, what are you doing?”

Wei WuXian grinned, resting his chin in his hand. “Nothing much. Just… admiring my husband. Did I ever tell you how handsome you are?”

“You have,” Lan WangJi replied, resuming his writing, though his ears were faintly pink.

Undeterred, Wei WuXian leaned even closer, his voice dropping to a husky whisper. “And did I mention how irresistible you look when you’re serious? Makes me want to do… things.”

Lan WangJi’s brush slipped, leaving a tiny smear of ink on the pristine paper.

Wei WuXian gasped dramatically. “Oh no, Lan Zhan! Did I make you lose focus?”

Lan WangJi set down his brush with deliberate care and turned to face Wei WuXian fully. His golden eyes were calm, but there was a glint of something unreadable in them.

“Wei Ying,” he said softly, “what are you trying to achieve?”

Wei WuXian smirked, leaning even closer until their noses nearly touched. “Just seeing how long it takes for the great Hanguang-Jun to crack.”

Lan WangJi stared at him for a long moment, his gaze steady. Then, with a swift movement, he stood, his imposing figure towering over Wei WuXian.

Wei WuXian blinked, momentarily caught off guard. “Lan Zhan?”

Without a word, Lan WangJi gently but firmly grasped Wei WuXian’s wrist and pulled him close. His voice was low, velvety, and laced with amusement. “Wei Ying, do not start something you are not prepared to finish.”

Wei WuXian’s cheeks flushed, his usual bravado faltering. “W-who said I wasn’t prepared?”

Lan WangJi leaned in, his lips brushing against Wei WuXian’s ear. “You should be careful, Wei Ying. Teasing can have consequences.”

Wei WuXian froze, his heart racing as Lan WangJi pulled back, his face as composed as ever.

And then, as if nothing had happened, Lan WangJi returned to his desk and picked up his brush. “Now, let me finish this.”

Wei WuXian stood there, flustered and speechless, before breaking into a wide grin. “Lan Zhan, you sly fox! You were teasing me back!”

Lan WangJi didn’t respond, but the faintest hint of a smile tugged at the corner of his lips.

Wei WuXian plopped back onto the bed, laughing. “Fine, fine! You win this round, Hanguang-Jun. But don’t think I’m giving up so easily!”

Lan WangJi simply nodded, his calm exterior hiding the satisfaction in his heart.
