chapter 7: No one knows

Anne POV

It's been three days since the night Rain went missing, and the last person she was with was the man who meet him in fiesta. That's also what I told the police, but there was no evidence and no one knows who that guy was. We were also drunk that night, so it's hard to remember everything that happened. What I only remember is that the last time I talked to him was the next day after that night, and he really was with the guy at his house.

I let out a deep sigh. I also informed Rain's family, but it seemed like nothing happened, as if it didn't matter to them like no one cares.

I am extremely worried about Rain right now because of the murder cases happening in our area, and what's even more alarming is that people like Rain who has different gender, are the ones being targeted.

At the same time, I feel sorry.

Rain is the type of person who keeps all their problems to themselves, even though it's obvious they're sad, they stay alone. And the only thing I can do is invite him to have fun even just once, but it's hard to get him to say yes.

That's why on the night of the fiesta, I convinced him, and I took the chance to be there for him no matter what he was going through, and I wanted him to breathe at that moment, to do everything he wanted, everything he hadn't experienced as a 24-year-old.

But I was wrong, because that was the very reason he got into trouble.

My cellphone suddenly rang, and when I saw who was calling, I answered immediately.

"Yes Jeff?"I said.

"I know now," came a voice from the other line. "I know who the last guy Rain was with back then," Jeff added.

"Who?" Where can he be found?I immediately asked.

He is Vince Lim, an Architect and the son of the business owner of Lim's financial company.

I was surprised when he said that phrase. Lim's financial company? One of riches family in the whole Philippines. I'm not really sure if it's only in the Philippines.

"So where can he be found now?"I asked again.

"What do you mean where?" What you should do is go to the police and inform them," the other line replied.

"No, you tell the police, and I'll go to that Vince," I said angrily.

"Don't be so hasty, it would be better to inform someone who truly knows what to do"

"To the police??they know what to do? They didn't even catch the criminal who committed those past murder, how can they even catch that son of the one of richest family in the Philippines? Or maybe... They are just one. The better thing to do is for us to take action, find a way before it's too late," I chanted.

"Are you out of your mind? You were the one who said the police can't do anything, so how much more you?"Jeff's philosophy.

"Even so, you know it's better, than relying on the police who might change the story."

A few seconds later, Jeff on the other line spoke.

"She lives in Villarama Rose Subdivision."

Someone's POV

I entered a bar and immediately ordered a drink. Another man suddenly approached me.

"Oh, why? What is it again, Mr. Detective?"he said as he sat down in front of me.

"I just have a small favor to ask," I said with a wide smile.

"There you go again with your favors, I told you last time, right? When you break up with me, you won't be able to use me and this bar of mine for those detective things anymore," he replied, about to stand up.

"Fine, one night," I said, so he just sat down and sighed.

I stood up and sat beside him, putting my arm around his shoulder and leaning against the seat. "I just need to find something."

He chuckled "What do you think I am, a lost item finder or a mugger?" He tapped my hand on his shoulder. "I still have a lot to take care of right now, there are many problems facing my business, so not now, leave me alone, you grasshopper." Then he stood up. "I thought you were a police officer? So why should I be the one to look for whoever it is you're asking for? And besides, you might as well do your one-night stand with someone else, you fool"

He was about to walk away when I showed him a picture.

"Don't you know him?"

"W-why?? What's with him?" he asked immediately.

"He's one of the suspects. And you are the only one I can trust right now."
