chapter 2: New experience

Rain POV

Anne and I were just sitting in the corner while waiting for the fiesta event to start. There's a miss gay. A gay pagent.

I was simply wearing black pants and a gray hoodie that was covering my head. It's windy, so it's nice to wear something like this.

How are you doing now? I heard you have a boyfriend now?"Anne interrupted the silence between us.

Anne is my only friend who never gives up on inviting me to any outing, even though she knows I won't join.

I have many reasons, one of which is money; I don't have money for those kinds of things, and it's embarrassing to rely on him and just expect him to pay for me.

And another thing, maybe we're just an option, they just invited us because they had no one else to hang out with.

I am being negative again didn't i?

"I hope there is," I just answered.

He just laughed.

"By the way... is it just us?" Don't we have anyone else with us?I suddenly said in a dull voice.

"What do you think?"he gave a wide smile.

Another man suddenly appeared in front of us. Anne and I turned to look at him at the same time. Well, as expected, Anne wouldn't invite me if she knew it was just the two of us, because I'm boring to talk to.

"Jeff, it's good that you made it," she greeted.

He is Jeff, Anne's cousin, fair-skinned and korean-looking, very handsome, so many girls are attracted to him, but not just girls, even boys admire his looks.

And I was one of them, I liked him back then, he was the first reason why my other sexuality came.

But that was just then.

When he hadn't yet told me that he didn't like someone like me who is attracted to same gender. He said that people like me are disgusting and bring bad luck.

He is also one of the reasons why I am avoiding liking other people.

I'll just be hopeful.

I have no worth anymore, should I still expect someone to be interested in me?

I just looked down when I saw him standing in front of us, because he might suddenly leave if he sees my face.

"Well, it's free for you, so why would I refuse?" he said to anne, smiling, a dimple appearing on his right cheek.

He just sat beside Anne, so we were in between Anne.

A little later, two people suddenly spoke on stage, saying the event was about to start, and since it was the last day of the celebration, there's a lot of people coming tonight.

___________________

So much joy, entertaining and funny from the candidates, from start to finish, the laughter of the people for them remains the same.

I keep laughing too.

I also noticed Jeff glancing at me, so I immediately looked away, suddenly fixing myself, thinking he might just be annoyed by my laughter and then suddenly left.

When the event was over, people who planned to drink and dance took their own seats.

I was surprised when someone suddenly approached us.

Anne's friends are also here, I thought it was just us.

They suggested going to a table near the stage that they reserved, and I had no choice but to just follow.

Their faces were painted with joy and excitement as they walked.

Except for me.

I feel like I'm just butting in.

I was about to say goodbye to Anne so I could leave when she suddenly turned to me and held my hand.

"Let's have fun now!"his shout echoed due to the loud music and noise around.

Little by little, my feelings about that word suddenly changed.

That's why I gathered the courage to come here, right? To try to be happy even just for one night.

________________________________

It's amusing to see people lose themselves while dancing to have fun.

Is that really how it is? In the desire to be happy, we no longer think about ourselves? And what others will think?

"Itst Rain's turn," Jeff suddenly said to Anne, handing her a small glass filled with alcohol. This is how we do it when we drink, passing the shot around with the same shot glass.

I can't believe what I heard; Jeff mentioned my name.

I drank it right away.

Indirect kiss, right? Well, we'll have a sevensome kiss here, seven saliva in one glass.

As the celebration goes on, people suddenly become more passionate. I can already see some people kissing in a corner.

Good thing my companions are still decent.

"Hi!" Another man suddenly spoke in front of us, looking to be in his 30s. "Can I ask a favor?" The music isn't that loud at our spot, so I can hear it even though I'm a bit far from him.

JR and Rita, one of our companions now, who is the closest to the man who spoke, just nodded.

Some of them are busy with their own conversations.

I tried to understand what the man was saying, but I failed; I didn't hear what he said next.

JR and Rita suddenly turned to me and approached at the same time.

"He said he wants to get to know you," JR said. Anne turned to us because she heard it.

Who? Who?, Where?"Anne replied.

"Not you, it's Rain." There they are, the guys who look rich," JR said, pointing at the four men sitting not far away.

There was a man who caught my attention, fair-skinned and slightly slanted-eyed like Jeff, but more muscular, you could really see the beautiful shape of his body.

"One of their companions also wanted to table him in exchange for a case of drinks." Everyone was shocked by what they heard and turned to look at me. Their expressions were indescribable.

I glanced at the strange men again. They seem kind and good-looking, but what's funny and unexpected is that they don't have the kind of looks that would attract with the same gender.

Especially for someone like me, a nobody.

"You don't have to agree, we don't need a cheaper drink, and you definitely don't need a boyfriend," Anne said. But you can see from her face that it's the opposite. So sarcastic.

He knows that I like other guys, except for some of our companions who still can't believe it.

I sighed.

I told myself that I would have fun even just for tonight.

A few seconds passed before I could speak again, but I finally made a decision. But before I did that, I turned to Jeff who was shaking his head at me. As if indicating that I shouldn't agree.

I just got more annoyed. Maybe he's saying that people like them will never like me.

I slowly stood up from my seat as a sign of agreement, feeling like I wasn't thinking straight anymore, maybe I was a bit drunk, that's why I agreed.
