idk about deer liver soup but i love chicken soup and its livers, its littelary best thing. when i was little my grandma used to make chicken soup for me every week, she would chop chicken's head and i would willingly watch it every time, i watched everything, like how its organs got removed, all that ( now i have survival knowledge and can cook chicken) and at the end , as she poured soup she would always give me its cooked livers..it was actually so sweet gesture, more like tradition between us that after her death, if i get liver in my soup bowl, i cry
