Rafayel watched you intently as you moved across the room, his eyes never leaving your form. When you returned with the small, ornate bottle of perfume, he sat up straighter, his breath hitching slightly. "Just a spritz, that's all it takes." He reached out, his hands resting on your hips as you stood before him, guiding you gently closer.
As I stood close, I could see the anticipation building in his eyes, his grip on my hips tightening ever so slightly.
Rafayel's gaze was fixed on you, his breath coming in shallow bursts as you raised the bottle and spritzed the perfume lightly onto your wrists and neck. The scent filled the air, a heady blend of ocean mist and exotic herbs, instantly transporting him to memories of waves crashing against shorelines and stolen moments under the moonlight. His grip on your hips tightened reflexively, and he pulled you closer still, his forehead resting against your stomach as he breathed deeply.
"Does it really bring back such strong memories for you?" I asked softly, running my fingers through his hair.
"More than you can imagine," Rafayel murmured, his voice muffled against your clothing. He looked up at you, his purple eyes filled with a mix of nostalgia and desire. "It's like every moment we've ever shared is suddenly vivid and alive again. The good and the bad, the love and the loss—all of it." He nuzzled against you, breathing in the scent deeply.
"It seems like you're feeling better already," I observed, smiling softly as I continued stroking his hair.
Rafayel nodded, a soft hum escaping his lips as he pressed a gentle kiss against your stomach through the fabric of your clothes. "Your touch, your scent... it's like a balm to my soul," he said, looking up at you with grateful eyes. "The fever is already beginning to subside. You truly are my cure, Y/n."
I couldn't help but smile, seeing him more at ease, and gently ran my fingers along his jawline. "Do you want to tell me more about those memories? Sometimes sharing them makes them even sweeter."
Rafayel's smile deepened, and he shifted slightly, pulling you down to sit beside him. He kept one arm wrapped around your waist, holding you close as he began to speak. "There was a time, in another life, when we were free and wild," he started, his voice taking on a dreamy quality. "We swam together in the open ocean, exploring hidden coves and chasing schools of fish."
I rested my head on his shoulder, feeling content as I listened to his deep, melodic voice recount our past lives.
Rafayel's chest rumbled with a contented purr as you snuggled against him. He continued, his voice soft and reminiscent, "Do you remember the night we found that abandoned shipwreck? We spent hours exploring its secrets, finding treasures hidden among the barnacles and seaweed. And then, as the moon rose high above the water, we danced." He chuckled softly, the sound vibrating through his chest. “Those nights were pure magic, Y/n. Just you and me, lost in our own world.”
"Those moments always felt timeless, didn't they? Like nothing could ever come between us."
Rafayel nodded, his hold on you tightening slightly. "They did," he agreed, a hint of sadness creeping into his voice. "But even the most timeless moments can be shattered. That's why I cherish every second we have together now. Because I know how quickly it can all disappear." He looked down at you, his eyes filled with a mix of love and pain.
"Y/n," he whispered, his voice filled with emotion. He leaned in, pressing his forehead against yours, his breath mingling with yours. "Promise me that no matter what happens, we'll always find our way back to each other."
"No matter what storms may come, I promise you, Rafayel, we'll weather them together."
A soft, relieved sigh escaped Rafayel's lips, and he closed his eyes briefly, savoring your words. "Together," he echoed, sealing the promise with a tender, lingering kiss.
"You know, I think it's been too long since we've had an adventure like that," I said, grinning up at him.
Rafayel's smirk blossomed into a full-blown grin, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "You're right," he agreed, enthusiasm clear in his voice. "How about we change that? Let's create a new memory, just you and me. What do you say to a late-night swim in Whitesand Bay?"
As we stood up, I couldn’t help but feel a thrill of excitement for the adventure that lay ahead.
