BEGINNING

"Congrats! Your child is a boy". The doctor said as he handed the baby to Hikaru, who was lying on the hospital bed.

"What will you name him?" asked the nurse on the side

"Van, Van will be his name", Hikaru said while looking at her child and gently stroking its small hands.

"HIKARU!" Dave exclaimed while rushing

"Okay, we'll leave you for now", said the doctor as he walked out the door.

"Where's the baby?" Dave asked while looking at the baby next to Hikaru.

"Oh, he's so cute." Then, slowly took and carried the baby.

"Hikaru, what is his name?!" Dave asked Hikaru while holding the child.

"Van", Hikaru said while lying on the bed, clearly exhausted.

"Ahhhh, why are you here?" Aren't you still recovering?" Hikaru said to Dave.

"Your wounds are serious, right?"

"Ahhhh, this is nothing; this will heal soon." Dave said while stroking the child's small fingers.

"Thanks, Dave; it's only been a few months." Hikaru said, looking at Dave while smiling at her child.

"When you grow up, don't be a troublemaker,"

Dave said while talking to Hikaru's baby.

"By the way, we're moving to a new place", said Hikaru while looking out the window.

"Why?! You won't be going back to that house anymore". Dave asked while the baby was holding his big finger.

"Yes, when I see that house, I remember what happened", Hikaru said while looking out the window.

"It's up to you, as long as I get to be the godfather of your child", Dave said with a smile.

A few days later, Hikaru was discharged from the hospital and was inside their house while looking at a photo of them all together, which was badly damaged.

"Oh, okay, we're leaving now, Dave," Hikaru said to Dave while Dave was carrying his child.

"Oh, okay! Van, goodbye! Always be good, okay?" Dave said, and Van smiled.

"Okay, we're leaving now," Hikaru said to Dave as they were getting on the bus.

While Dave was standing at the bus stop.

"Okay, take care." Dave said while waving his hand.

Hikaru just waved from the car window as the bus started moving.

"Oh, here's the bathroom; over there is the kitchen; and through that door is the bedroom. The rent here is cheap", the landlord said as she introduced the house where Hikaru would be living.

"Ahhhh, okay, thank you". Hikaru said while carrying her baby.

"Oh, alright, I'm leaving now", said the landlord as she was exiting the house.

"THANK YOU!" Hikaru's speech to the landlord.

They went to a crowded place called the City of Light.

"Oh, Van, we're going to live here now", said Hikaru while arranging the things she brought.

Van is still just a month old and is lying down, sleeping on the soft bed.

"You really got your father's face, Van". Hikaru said while sitting next to and talking to her son Van, who was sleeping.

At the same time, Hikaru rubbed Van's head.

She lay down on the bed while looking at the ceiling and thinking.

"If your father's were still alive, he would be happy to see you, Van."

Hikaru was crying while thinking of the happy memories, until her eyes closed.

"Kriiiiiiinnnnggggg," the sound of the phone, in the early morning.

"Oh, who is this?" Hikaru asked, wiping her eyes.

"It's me, Dave."

"Oh, Dave, why did you call?" Hikaru asked.

"I was just about to ask when the baptism is," Dave said over the phone.

"That's still next month". Hikaru said, while Van started crying.

"Oh, okay, Dave," I'll hang up the phone for now; Van is crying.

"Okay, okay." Dave spoke, and Hikaru hung up the phone.

"Oh, why Van?!" Hikaru asked her crying child lying on the soft bed.

Van stopped crying and smiled at Hikaru; at that moment, Hikaru remembered Yasu's smiling face.

At the same time, she gently took the child and hugged him.

While the tears were falling, Hikaru spoke.

"You're right, Van; even though your dad is gone, you're still here for me". Hikaru said while tears were streaming down.

"In the name of the Father, I baptize this child". The priest recited while baptizing Van.

"Oh, Hikaru, I'll carry Van, Dave said", while Hikaru reached for her child.

After a few hours, they returned home.

"Oh, Hikaru, so this is where you live?!" Dave asked while standing inside Hikaru's house.

"Yes"

"Where do you get the money to pay your rent and your household expenses?" Dave said while looking at the things.

"Ahhhh, I still need to look for a job". Hikaru said while carrying Van.

"Ahhhh okay,uhm, I'm leaving now!" Dave said as he was leaving the house.

"I'll just visit once in a while". Dave said as he turned around and waved.

"Alright, take care!" Hikaru said as she closed the door.

Not long after Dave left, Van cried.

"Oh, Van, why?" Hikaru asked, puzzled.

Hikaru was stroking the back of her child, carrying him, while Van was incessantly crying.

Hikaru gently placed Van on the soft bed and stepped out of the room to prepare some milk.

At the exact moment Hikaru turned away, Van's eyes glowed golden for a few seconds before returning to their original color again.
