FIREFLIES

We've already gone quite deep into the forest, so the exit is still quite far.

While I was driving the bus, the monster didn't show up.

But there is a problem. I noticed that the gas was depleting very quickly, so I told Kagumi.

"Kagumi, the gas is almost running out; why is it decreasing so fast?" I asked him.

That's why he looked at it. "Maybe the tank is indeed leaking," just like he said.

"I think the tank has a hole," but I'm sure it will still make it to the exit."

I told them,

while I am driving and others are looking around. to make sure there are no monsters.

"Damn it! Yasu, hurry up." Hikaru shouted at me, looking like she saw something unusual.

"The monster is behind us again."

Hikaru's shouted was filled with fear.

"What!" Kagumi shouted and looked back, seeing that someone was indeed chasing.

"That monster is really annoying! Is he not getting tired?" Kagumi angrily said while peeking out the window.

"Hurry up, Yasu!" Alice said that the face is very scared.

"I can't do anything anymore; this is the fastest." I told them, then looked back, seeing the monster was still far away.

The car isn't running well anymore; the tire is broken, and the gas tank is empty.

Maybe that's because of what the monster did; I never thought it could crush a car.

It took us several miles, and the gas ran out. We had no choice but to remain silent inside the bus.

We all just lay flat so the monster wouldn't see us; we could hear someone walking outside the vehicle.

"¡Heyyyy! guys! Open the door!."

I heard the voice of the old man, panting heavily.

"¿Eh? Is that old man?" Kagumi exclaimed with a mix of surprise and joy.

We stood up and opened the bus door, and we were overjoyed to see the old man alive. Kagumi hugged him tightly.

"We thought the monster had eaten you," Hikaru said, pleased with the old man's appearance.

"Yes, why did you get off the bus earlier?" "We thought the monster had already eaten you." Alice said to the old man with a hint of fear.

"Here I am, alive and kicking in front of you."

"And I didn't get out of the car."

"When that monster charged at us, we crashed into the tree; the impact was so strong that I was thrown out."

The elderly man said, crying over what had happened to him.

"So that's how it is, you poor thing". Dave said while crying.

"We need to find a way to get out of here", the old man said.

"Yeah, but how? the bus run out of gas" Kagumi said with a hint of sadness on his face.

"We have feet, right?" The old man said that,

" If we just wait here, I'm sure the monster will smell us, and besides, it's still a long time until the sun rises; it's only eleven o'clock in the evening."

"Do you see that the forested area over there? There's a shortcut path leading out of this forest." The old man said, pointing to the dense part of the jungle.

We got off the bus and headed into the dense forest, surrounded by large trees, and we couldn't see even a single light.

On our walk, we saw an old house not far away.

We all entered the house to rest, and as soon as we opened the door, dust greeted us, and the house was already surrounded by spider webs.

"I'm sure no one lives in this house anymore!" I said while looking at every corner of the house.

[PHASE TWO] FIREFLIES

We arranged our sleeping area because we would be resting here. I also fell asleep for an hour, but it didn't last long. I woke up because I heard a noise outside. When I got up, I saw that my companions were still asleep. I peeked through the window hole and saw the monster circling outside the old house where we were staying.

I stepped back a bit and woke up Kagumi.

"Kagumi, Kagumi," I whispered so the monster wouldn't hear us.

Kagumi immediately woke up and didn't ask any questions; it seemed he already knew what was happening.

"Wake up the others", I said in a soft voice.

Kagumi immediately woke the others, but when Dave stood up, his head hit the old pipe above, which is why

This is our situation again.

"Damn you, Dave." After Kagumi said that, a loud noise immediately followed from the door.

The monster smashed the door of the house and is now standing in front of us.

We couldn't move from where we stood at the terrifying sight of the monster.

A few seconds later, Kagumi grabbed a thick plank, and as the monster charged, he immediately struck it, causing it to retreat.

While we were, we also took our own weapons,

"¡Ohhhhh! What now!!!!!!! Monster, come here, let's fight!" Kagumi shouted because of that,

Kagumi was attacked by a monster, and when Kagumi was going to counterattack with a thick plank, after he smashed the plank in the monster's head, the plank was immediately shattered.

"¿Eh? Damn it, this monster is so tough!" Kagumi shouted while looking at the broken plank he was holding.

Until the monster swung its sharp claws, hitting Kagumi and causing a deep wound in his stomach.

We immediately started hitting the monster with a plank, and the old man pulled Kagumi away while Kagumi was still unconscious.

Dave took the thick pipe from above him and, with a swing, hit the monster's head. Due to Dave's size and strength, the monster's skull was shattered.

Reason for the monster to fall.

"Is the monster dead?" Alice's question, tinged with anxiety

"He's not dead yet. Let's leave here before that monster wakes up". I told them that, Kagumi who was still unconscious, was being carried on my back.

While we were outside, we just followed the path in the forest.

"What do you mean the monster is still alive, Yasu?!" Hikaru said to me with a hint of curiosity.

"Yeah, why is that monster still alive, Yasu?!" question from the old man while we were walking

"That monster doesn't die even if you tear its body apart or burn it; that monster is invincible, and we can't handle that thing". I told them while carrying Kagumi on my back.

"Ahhh, Yasu, Iooks, like you're exhausted, I'll carry him." Dave spoke with concern.

After Dave carried Kagumi, we continued walking when I heard Kagumi speak.

"Do you guys think we'll make it?" Kagumi asked, sounding uncertain.

We looked back at him while continuing to walk.

"Of course, if we want to live, we will live." Hikaru said in a soft voice while continuing to walk.

"Is that so? yeah, you're right." Kagumi said with a smile, while vomiting blood.

"Don't talk too much; it will only make your blood run out faster." Alice said with a hint of concern.

After a long walk, we entered the other side of the forest,

There is a huge cliff in the middle, and you will definitely die if you fall here.

But this part is different; it's not as dark compared to the other side. In this part, the moonlight provides illumination to the area, and the fireflies fluttering around the edges give us hope to live.
