Chapter 8

It was as if they had just hit a rock. They wondered how a young guy could be so strong. They all rushed to their feet, staring at Michael as though they had just seen a ghost.

"Dude, hurry up and get out of here before things turn south for you," one of the gangsters threatened again.

He hadn't finished his words before one of them threw an unexpected kick at Michael. The lad grabbed the gangster's leg midway and flung him at his team.

"Argh!" they all groaned as their bodies hit the floor.

As soon as they saw Michael walking toward them with a clenched fist, they all hurried to their feet and fled the warehouse.

"Who is this beast?!" one of them shouted as they rushed into their vehicle and drove away.

Michael moved closer to the young lady and helped her unconscious body up. He rested her back on his lap, gazing at her pale face.

The effect of the drug made the lady's face look very pale and numb. Then Michael thought about how he could help her.

He closed his eyes and whispered, "I wish to be bestowed with the greatest healing abilities in the world."

In a flash, Michael heard the ding sound. Then, the usual hologram appeared in his mind.

[Congratulations, Michael Quinn. You have been bestowed with the greatest healing abilities in the world.]

Michael felt an overwhelming amount of healing knowledge arrives in his memory, then his eyes opened widely.

He gazed at the young lady for a while, then found a suitable healing technique in his memory: energy healing.

He placed his hand on the lady's forehead, and his palm warmed up. Some sort of green energy flowed out of his palm and swam into the lady's forehead.

Suddenly, the lady gasped and the beauty of her face appeared. A cold sweat broke out on her forehead, and her eyes sprang open.

She sat up and looked around. "What happened? Where am I? What am I doing here?" she questioned in a panicked tone.

"You don't need to panic. You're safe now."

She turned her head immediately after she heard the voice behind her. "Who are you?!" she shouted, hurrying to her feet.

"Some gangsters wanted to harm you, so I came to rescue you," Michael explained.

"You lied! You are a liar! You are one of them! Where are the rest?!" the lady shouted at the top of her voice.

"What do you mean? You didn't even appreciate the fact that I saved you." Michael was a bit disappointed.

At that moment, some vehicles halted in front of the warehouse with a screeching sound. It was a white Benz and two Toyota Tacoma trucks.

A group of burly men jumped out of the trucks, and the Maybach door was pushed open. A man in his 60s stepped out of the Maybach, his face frowning in worry.

His majestic aura indicated who he was: a county billionaire. Every item of his outfit screamed luxury and elegance.

He looked left and right before he stared at his phone screen.

He raised his head instantly. "That's my daughter over there! Get the thug down on his knees before he escapes!" the billionaire ordered the burly men, pointing at the abandoned warehouse.

The burly men rushed into the warehouse, and the billionaire followed. They hurriedly circled Michael as they entered, and the billionaire went to his daughter.

"Dad!" she called out, running into the billionaire's arms.

"My angel, I hope you're not injured." The billionaire scrutinized her as he asked with worry.

The lady nodded and nearly burst into tears. "I have told you several times to stop going out without the guards. If not for the tracker, how would I have found out that you're here?" the 60-year-old man admonished.

The billionaire raised his head and realized the burly men hadn't made any move. "Hurry up and beat him to a pulp until he confesses!" he thundered.

The burly men were about to take action before the young lady shouted, "No, Dad!"

There was a pause as they all glanced at the lady. "What's the matter, Cynthia? Let the guards do their job!" the billionaire was enraged.

"He was the one who saved me," she disclosed.
