Chapter 0: Epilogue

Hi there! You must be wondering who this handsome, athletic, and muscular guy is. Well, it’s me, Diopha. (And no, it’s not the good-looking guy running ahead of me.) I know, I’m struggling here, drenched in sweat and about to collapse, but that’s just for laughs. Truth is, I’m totally an athlete. (Spoiler: I collapsed and passed out from the workout.)

(He wakes up in the infirmary)

"Ah, back in the infirmary again. Anyway, guys, my name’s Diopha Hitari. I’m 1.80 meters tall, and yeah, I suck at sports. Right now, we’re in the middle of exams, and that was the physical test. I’m a manga enthusiast and a hardcore gamer. Physically, I don’t look anything like a manga protagonist, but in the gaming world, it’s a whole different story. There, I’m known as the Kratos of video games or even Artemis. After all, I’m ranked number one in the weekly gaming leaderboards (this story involves virtual reality, by the way).

So yeah, I’m just a regular guy with no interesting backstory (he says, narrating his life along the way). We’ve just finished the exams. And guess what? I’m third again this time! Surprised that someone as bad at sports as me is in the top three of my grade exams? Don’t be! I’m actually in the top five citywide. But alas, I don’t have a girlfriend, and yes, I’m still a virgin. I do have a childhood friend with dai oppai though. Yep, I had to mention that. But she’s a tsundere (side note: loves to punch when embarrassed).

I often get called a nerd at school, but that was my life—until that day. March 11, 3005. That’s when a rift appeared in the sky across various continents, and monsters poured out to attack us humans. Luckily, the rift also gave humans abilities based on their habits or past experiences, allowing us to defend ourselves to some extent.

The craziest part? All the monsters attacking my school were defeated by one person: me. Surprised? I was too, at first. But here’s the deal: the power I received matches my reputation as the Kratos of gaming and my love for manga. It allowed me to inherit the traits of my favorite overpowered manga character and gain video game-like features (learning skills, seeing other people’s stats—you name it). My abilities are currently stuck at rank D, but I still managed to defeat all 25 enemies.

From that day forward, I became Diopha Hitari, nicknamed Artemis by the government. And so, my story begins. Trust me, you won’t get bored, because I hate boredom too. One last thing: I love a good fight, and yeah, I’m pretty handsome in real life ."
