Chasing Destiny

Chasing Destiny

The hidden spark

"Some destinies are written in the stars, but only a few can see the ink that binds them."

The bell rang, signaling the start of another day at Crystal High, a school where students didn’t just dream of greatness—they lived it. Sana stood in front of her locker, adjusting her uniform and listening to the bustling chatter of her classmates. A normal day. Or so she thought.

"Did you hear? Haru's leading the new prefect team this year," Micky, her best friend, said as she slid beside Sana, her wide glasses perched on the tip of her nose.

Sana rolled her eyes, trying to hide her discomfort at the constant chatter about Haru, the school captain. "I’m sure he’s great, but I don’t need to hear about him every five minutes."

Micky grinned. "You say that now, but I bet you’ll change your mind when you see him in action."

Sana shook her head, amused but uninterested. Despite the endless gossip surrounding Haru, the red-haired, tall, and handsome captain, Sana always stayed out of the school drama. Little did she know, today would be the day everything changed.

Later, in the classroom, Sana could feel the tension in the air as the three boys of her school, known for their exceptional talents and good looks, entered. Haru, with his fiery red hair and piercing gaze, made a quiet but commanding entrance, while Sujo, golden-haired and effortlessly charming, tossed a basketball from one hand to another, his movements smooth and athletic. And then there was Mihan, white-haired, with a magnetic aura that made him stand out—his gaze intense as always, calculating every move, every word. The three of them were rivals in every sense: academic, athletic, and social.

But Sana was used to their presence, or at least she thought she was.

During lunch, as she sat with Micky in their usual spot near the window, a strange energy filled the air. The three boys had gathered in their usual corner, deep in conversation, but today something was different. Haru’s eyes flickered toward Sana, his gaze lingering a little too long. Sujo, ever the competitive one, followed Haru’s gaze, his expression unreadable. Mihan, sensing the shift, studied Sana from across the room.

It felt like something was building, something none of them understood.

Sana’s pulse quickened.

The unexpected happened when a sudden announcement echoed through the school’s intercom: "All students are requested to report to the student council room immediately."

Confused, Sana turned to Micky. “What’s going on?”

“I don’t know,” Micky said, adjusting her glasses. “Maybe they’re calling for the new prefects or something.”

But as Sana made her way to the student council room, she couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off.

When she arrived, Haru was already inside, his presence towering as always. The moment she entered, the door slammed shut behind her. She froze.

“Are you okay?” Haru asked, his usual coolness replaced with a hint of concern.

Sana nodded, but she could feel the energy shifting. It was as if the room itself had changed. A strange glow began to form at the center of the floor, the light pulsating rhythmically, as if it had a life of its own.

“What’s going on?” Haru murmured.

Before either of them could react, a voice boomed from nowhere: “You’ve been chosen.”

Outside, Sujo and Mihan felt an intense pull—an unexplainable sensation that made their hearts race. At that very moment, they, too, realized they were connected to something larger than themselves.

Back in the council room, the air crackled with an unknown energy, and Sana’s hands began to glow faintly. Her heartbeat quickened, her thoughts scattered, and then—everything changed.

They weren’t just students anymore. They were part of something far greater.

As the words echoed in the silence, Sana’s world tilted on its axis. There was no turning back. The mystery of their powers had just begun to unravel, and none of them could deny it any longer. Destiny had chosen them, and now they had to uncover what it truly meant.

The story of their fate was just beginning.
