Day 9: Friday, Mar 26, 2024
A week has passed and I refuse to leave the comfort of my hotel room. After that lady saw me, I feel like I must maintain a really low profile, meaning my time on Earth is going to be a lot longer than I thought it would. I never thought of a solution to this type of problem, this whole time I was avoiding the possibilities as an IF. This is a big problem that I need to get around without any more danger during my search for a new way back to Heaven… Back to safety, back to where I belong.
I know that I'll have to leave this hotel eventually, so I'm thinking of a way to be able to disguise myself well enough for people to not see my face but not to where I look like a sketchy person roaming the streets for trouble.
Sometime later…
I found the perfect outfit! It’s pretty, and casual enough to stay hidden from any more trouble. It's a sage green shirt with a picture of something random, black, almost silky, bell bottoms, a mask and a hat. Very casual and kinda stylish. As I walk out of the hotel and down the stairs, I notice a strange couple just watching people and their dramas I assume, luckily I avoid walking in their direction just in case they’re also demons.
For the most part, it’s very quiet in the outer parts of the city, and here and there I can hear little kids running around playing together. It’s nice to know that in some places in this world there’s peace and not war between the demons and hybrids over who gets to control the humans and what not.
As I make my way into the center of the city however, it’s a lot louder and more hectic with people scrambling around trying to get to work. The center of the city is packed with people on the streets, walking, driving, sitting at restaurants, and just standing around doing nothing. It kinda reminds me of New York City, all packed with tall buildings and ads everywhere I look.
But the only thing different here is that there’s more trees than there are buildings, they’re on every sidewalk in rows all packed together. They’re beautiful, full of cherry blossom flowers, while the slight breeze has petals flying off of them.
When I was growing up, before the accident, people would plant a tree each time someone in our community passed away, everyday a new tree was planted. I guess they stopped doing that because of how many people are dying. The city of Juniper Springs has gotten more crowded and a lot bigger too. So it makes sense that they stopped planting trees for EVERYONE in the city.
Anyway.. I come across a broken-ish down building and wonder when it was even built and why, there was a picture hanging on the wall of the building when it was first built and by the original owners. It doesn’t look much better than what it looks like now. The bricks are of a black-ish red color and the windows seem to have been newly installed a few days ago. There are cameras everywhere, too much to count, which makes me wonder even more about it.
