The alleyway's shadows seemed to come alive as Alessandro closed in on the mysterious figure. Violet's frightened gaze met Alessandro's, and he nodded curtly.
"Run," he mouthed.
Violet didn't hesitate, dashing out of the alley as Alessandro confronted the stranger.
The figure spun, revealing a burly man with a twisted grin.
"You think you can protect her?" the man sneered.
Alessandro's eyes narrowed. "I won't let you touch her."
With a snarl, the man lunged, swinging a meaty fist.
Alessandro dodged, his movements fluid, and countered with a swift jab.
The man stumbled, but recovered quickly, charging at Alessandro.
The two clashed, fists flying, their grunts echoing through the alley.
Alessandro landed a solid kick, sending the man crashing into a dumpster.
The man sprang up, eyes blazing, and pulled out a switchblade.
Alessandro's gaze flicked to the knife, his expression unchanging.
"You shouldn't have done that," he said, voice low and deadly.
With lightning speed, Alessandro disarmed the man, twisting his wrist until the knife clattered to the ground.
The man howled, stumbling backward.
Alessandro seized the opportunity, pinning the man against the wall.
"Who sent you?" Alessandro demanded.
The man's eyes darted wildly, but he remained silent.
Alessandro's grip tightened.
"Tell me."
Suddenly, the man's eyes went wide, and he whispered, "Razza..."
Alessandro's face darkened.
"You're making a grave mistake."
With a swift motion, Alessandro knocked the man unconscious.
Breathing heavily, Alessandro scanned the alley, ensuring they were alone.
Violet's safety was paramount.
He pulled out his phone, dialing a number.
"Killian, we have a problem."
The line went silent.
"Razza's involved," Alessandro continued. "I'll bring Violet to the safe house."
Killian's response was instant.
"Protect her at all costs."
Alessandro nodded, already moving.
Violet's life had just become a deadly game.
And Alessandro was her only refuge.
...****************...
...They drove in silence as they headed to the safe house. Alessandro was best at being far from her but now he was sharing his car with her and he wasn’t going to talk about nothing till she was safely prepared for what was to come....
From what she had gone through she didn’t know whom to trust now and she couldn’t beli she was in the car of her stalker and all but was her only hope, no way was she returning back to where she lived, it was just to harmful for her now but she wasn’t going to be stupid and trust anyone right now.
He was quiet. So she remained quiet as well but she had questions and she wondered if she could ever get the answers or they were going to kill her, she had no idea.
She noticed the direction she heading wasn’t part of the main city so where were they heading to. She had never come here since she had nothing to do her, the cold breeze blow across her face, relaxing her for some time being but the panic she was in wasn’t something a mere wind could could just disperse.
Violet's eyes scanned the unfamiliar surroundings as Alessandro led her through the winding streets. The city's vibrant sounds gradually faded into the background, replaced by an eerie silence.
"Where are we?" she asked, her voice barely audible. She was tired of just being led around.
"A safe house," Alessandro replied curtly, his gaze darting around.
The nondescript building loomed before them, its plain facade exuding an air of secrecy. Alessandro pushed open the door, gesturing for Violet to enter.
The dimly lit foyer enveloped her, its Spartan decor a stark contrast to the luxurious world she knew. Alessandro secured the door, his movements swift and deliberate.
"Killian will be here soon," he said, his expression unreadable. "Stay put until then."
Violet nodded, her eyes wandering around the room. The silence between them was palpable. She seriously did not know who this Killian was but she could just th
Alessandro handed her a phone, his fingers brushing against hers. "Use this to reach me or Killian. No one else."
Their gazes met briefly, and for an instant, Violet sensed something beneath Alessandro's stoic exterior.
He turned to leave, his footsteps echoing through the hallway.
Violet's thoughts swirled. Was she truly safe? And what secrets lay hidden behind Alessandro's helps.
Violet's gaze lingered on the empty doorway, her mind racing with questions. The silence in the room was oppressive, weighing heavily on her shoulders. She couldn't shake off the feeling that her life was spiraling out of control.
What did Alessandro mean by "safe"? Was it a temporary reprieve or a permanent solution? And who was Killian, really? Why was he involved in her life? What did they know about her past that she didn't?
The phone Alessandro gave her seemed heavy in her hand, a tangible reminder of the uncertain world she now inhabited. She dialed a number, hesitated, and hung up. Not yet. She wasn't ready to confront whoever was on the other end.
Violet paced, her footsteps echoing off the walls. The room seemed to shrink with each passing moment, the shadows cast by the dim lighting growing longer and darker. Suddenly, the door opened, and a tall, lanky man strode in.
"Violet, I'm Killian," he said, his voice firm and professional, devoid of any warmth or emotion. "Alessandro briefed me. You're in danger, but we'll protect you."
Violet's eyes narrowed, her mind scrambling to process the statement. Danger? From whom? And why? She felt a shiver run down her spine as Killian's words hung in the air.
"What danger?" she demanded, trying to keep her voice steady.
Killian's expression turned grave, his eyes clouding over with concern. "Your past is more complicated than you think," he said, his words measured and deliberate. "We have reason to believe your memories are incomplete."
Violet's world tilted, the room spinning around her. Incomplete memories? What did that even mean? She felt a wave of panic wash over her, threatening to engulf her.
"What do you mean?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Killian glanced at Alessandro, who stood silently in the doorway, his eyes cold and calculating. Violet followed Killian's gaze, her eyes locking onto Alessandro's. For a moment, they just stared at each other, the tension between them palpable.
"Alessandro's investigation uncovered discrepancies in your backstory," Killian explained, breaking the silence. "We need to help you uncover the truth."
Violet's mind reeled, her thoughts racing with questions and fears. Who was behind this? Why were they targeting her? And what did Alessandro and Killian have to do with it?
"Who's behind this?" she demanded, her voice growing stronger.
Killian's jaw clenched, his eyes flashing with determination. "We're working on it," he said. "But for now, you're safest here, with us."
Alessandro stepped forward, his eyes never leaving Violet's face. "We'll get to the bottom of this, Violet," he said, his voice low and even. "But you must trust us."
Violet's instincts screamed caution, warning her to be wary of these strangers and their motives. But she had no choice. She was trapped, reliant on them for protection and answers. If she was going to believe him then she was going to ask the question on her mine.
