On top of it all was a mystery she wanted to solve. Who exactly was the mastermind behind her poisoned state? Could it be a member of the Kim family? Kim Ju-Won, perhaps. She was the only one who deeply had a grudge against her, and she was the one who had murdered the original Kim Eun-Jung.
After freshening up, Kim Eun-Jung ate a meal prepared by the hotel and slept some more. Early in the morning, she did her daily routine of going to the gym before starting her regular schedule. However, now, she had to make a new schedule. For today, the girl knew exactly what she wanted to do. She needed to start her treatment today.
It would have been easier if she had her acupuncture tools. It would detoxify her body quickly. Hopefully, she was going to find the tools in the traditional medicine center. When she was beginning her story, Kim Eun-Jung had not exactly pinpointed the different facilities in Cheol city and with this she knew it would be difficult to actually locate the place.
She left the hotel noticing a pretty familiar figure following her but chose to ignore it as she took a taxi. Kim Eun-Jung instructed the driver to her destination, and soon she stood facing the large building before her. She went in, surveying the facility. Immediately as she did, different scents hit her nose, the smell of various medicines assaulted her nose and she smiled. This felt somewhat familiar.
Soon she stopped in her tracks next to a glass box display. Her attention caught with her curiosity. Her sharp eyes had noticed the bag set in the transparent box that contained what she needed. It was an acupuncture tool box, small and about the size of a palm, not more than nine centimeters in length.
Lingering her gaze away, she walked to the managing desk where a bunch of people queued. Clearly, this facility was famous and well known. It was strange to think how these people had adapted to using Traditional Medicine. Unlike in Seoul, this place felt more knowledgeable. Sometimes, Western medicine could not treat every disease out there, the answer was always right before them. Simple homemade recipes did work.
"Excuse me, how much is the set?" Kim Eun-Jung firmly spoke while pointing at the acupuncture set in the box.
Jin Tae-min, the attendant, stared at the owner of the voice, a young girl stood before him. He looked at the area in which she had located. It was the priceless acupuncture box of their small peerless herb clinic. This set was so priceless that even the owner had not allowed any of the workers in the clinic to sell it.
"I'm sorry, miss, but that set is not for sale," he spoke, watching his tone.
This type of set only his boss could touch and sell it. Jin Tae-min kept his eyes on the girl again. She was too young to know about this type of thing.
"I'll buy it, the price doesn't matter," Kim Eun-Jung insisted urgently.
Price doesn't matter? Did this Miss think that this was child's play? This set alone cost almost eight figures. That price was not to be reckoned with. One had to be really rich to afford it.
"Miss, only the boss has the ability to give out this set of acupuncture tools and box."
Faced with this situation, she looked around. The girl knew how much of value the acupuncture tool box was. With it in her hands, she would be able to get rid of the toxins in her body in a matter of minutes. She glanced at the man about to speak when a voice interrupted from behind.
"Don't trust her, she's just a fake and a thief."
She turned to face the speaker, the others around following her pursuit. Behind her was also another girl of the same age as her. Hearing the newcomer's voice, everyone's faces turned pale and then disgust filled them. A thief? The girl at the front end of the queue was a thief? How vicious! How could someone so young learn how to pickpocket? Their faces turned ugly towards Kim Eun-Jung.
How could a thief run into the clinic like this?
"She's actually a thief? Quick! Get her out of here!"
"What if our things go missing?"
"Stolen? Call the police real quick!"
Seeing the customers start to panic and some claiming that their things may have been stolen, Jim Do-ri felt proud. Prior, she was following every step Kim Eun-Jung's look-alike took, her aim being to find out if she really was that fake heiress or her existence was a coincidence. She had no strong evidence to prove that it was really Kim Eun-Jung, so she thought of a way, recalling how weak the original fake heiress was. She wanted to see her cry and embarrass herself in front of everyone.
"Young and yet stealing, really shameless! How were you taught by your family?"
This made Jim Do-ri instantly excited, "It's not her family's fault. No one in her family has ever done this, her sister is even one of the best students in our school."
"That's impressive, but how did she end up becoming a thief?" One of the bystanders asked.
"Ah, the nine sons of the dragon are all different. Some are just naturally born bad and can't be taught well no matter how their family teaches them!"
Seeing that everyone believed her words, Jim Do-ri became even more pleased. Not that she had much grudge against Kim Eun-Jung, but how did this evil girl become her sister? Having this fake for a sister was such disgusting and abhorrent. Kim Ju-won was just too good. How could she have a sister like this?
Kim Eun-Jung stood calm listening to the claims. These accusations didn't phase her. Instead, she remained indifferent with her eyes towards the girl. So this was the reason why she was sneakily following her. She was investigating her. Withal, she smirked about to speak when suddenly a thud was heard.
"Quick, somebody come and help. This man has fainted," a voice rang out with urgency, calling upon everyone's attention.
An elderly man laid down unconscious, his face was pale and lips were a shade of purple. This was clearly not good. Kim Eun-Jung, detecting the signs, rushed forward to the man but was stopped, an irritating voice filling her ears as she spoke.
*What are you doing? You are not a doctor."
Her eyes met Jim Do-ri, her icy eyes sending a shiver down Jim Do-ri's spine. She tensed, hesitating, but nonetheless continued. She wouldn't dare let Kim Eun-Jung off that easily. The girl turned to the passed-out man, then to Kim Eun-Jung, a sneer crossing her features as she thought out loud.
"So this was your plan," Jim Do-ri said, her voice loud for everyone to hear. She turned to the people who had formed a crowd against the motionless body and continued with her words, "I bet this is all an act you are putting up together with that old man. You want to swindle us so you hired someone to play along with you."
What was this girl thinking? Kim Eun-Jung frowned at her words. Was she really that stupid? How could she insinuate such things? Kim Eun-Jung was at odds with the crowd, she picked up on the words the crowd was murmuring.
"Truly despicable! If you were my child I would have beaten you to death!" One shouted while the others cheered on boycotting her.
Human beings were truly foolish at times. Kim Eun-Jung thought that today would be simple, but it turned out this would happen and, more so than ordinary, people would be stupid enough to be riled up for nothing. She reviewed the elder man's situation, her brain making a diagnosis. This wasn't easy, if she didn't help the senior soon, he would end up losing his life.
Kim Eun-Jung pushed the girl that blocked her path, making her fall on the floor. She winced in pain, but her cries were not heard. Instead, she saw the fake heiress running to the unconscious body and kneeling down next to him. She took his hand to check for his pulse. She could feel them. However, his blood vessels were blocked, and his condition implied that he was having a heart attack.
The old man's condition was not as great and, due to her being delayed, she knew his well-being would probably be altered if she couldn't help. Kim Eun-Jung turned her head to gaze at the clinic manager who was standing, fear relevant in his features, visibly not aware of how to handle the situation.
Jin Tae-min was in a predicament. He looked at the lifeless man, then at the young girl crouched next to him. This type of situation was not one he could handle and, hopefully, the boss would come soon!
"I need that set of acupuncture tool box to save him," Kim Eun-Jung uttered to Jin Tae-min,
The acupuncture set again?
When Jim Do-ri heard her talk about the acupuncture tool box, she snickered as she forced herself to her feet and laughed out loud. "See. I told you that's all she wants to swindle!"
So this was her main plan? All this act for a box of needles? The people again started to discuss in their individual groups, pointing fingers at Kim Eun-Jung. This worthless girl was really calculative. Some seniors shook their heads, shocked by this younger generation. If it was their time and a child had dared to cheat people out of money, their hands would have no doubt been chopped off.
Kim Eun-Jung looked at the people around her frosty gaze falling on the girl who was at the bottom of it all. She walked over to her, slapping her once, then twice, not sparing her another thought.
"You dare slap me?"
Slap! More and more slaps came with every word she tried to speak, making the other bystanders shiver and quiet down while watching the unfolding scene. This girl was way too ruthless. They feared she wouldn't even dare give any of them face.
"Kim Eun-Jung!"
"What! " Fed up, Kim Eun-Jung answered smugly, pausing and pointed at the girl, "Yes, I dare slap you. What are you going to do?"
"I'm-" another slap touched her cheeks rough and painful, making her face swell up like a pig.
"What's going on here?"
