"How may I help you, miss?" The receptionist Jung Ah-ri spoke, offering the guests in front of her a polite smile. She did not want to offend them in fear of ending up like Choi Yoon-hee.
"Can you tell us more about your rooms? We want to know which room is the best," the girl smiled, glancing at her makeshift boyfriend. In her previous life, she had never had any close relationships with people. Due to the type of work she did and the fact that people thought of her as a prodigy, Kim Eun-Jung had always been conserved. Because of her indifferent nature, most people kept their distance.
Jung Ah-ri took a look at the gentleman then smiled, turning back to the girl.
"Our best suite is room one. It's the Heavenly room of our Sky Paradise Hotel," she paused before adding, "It is the largest, contains all the sets of home decor and has a personal Gym.''
Home decor set. That wasn't bad. However, she didn't know if she would stay there for too long. Kim Eun-Jung had thought of staying in a hotel so that she could take her time to settle on the idea that she was now a part of this world. She wanted to adjust to her new environment first. Maybe a week or two.
Her ability to adjust to new surroundings wasn't difficult for her. Previously, she had been traveling to different countries for meetings to help many big-shots, so she had to adapt well to new environments. She thought about it and said, "That sounds good."
The Heavenly suite? Yun Jun-seon's eyebrows shot up. Who didn't know about Sky Paradise suite one? It was the most luxurious and expensive room in the hotel. She actually wanted it. The young master wouldn't dare to agree.
"Darling, I want that one," she said, giving him the sweetest smile she had, hoping that she had a little charm left for her poor attempts.
The others turned away from embarrassment at the public display of affection right in front of them. This just made some of them who were currently not pursuing relationships feel awkward. Even the assistant who was a distance away felt its effect. The other receptionist, Choi Yoon-hee, frowned, feeling that the young girl's intentions towards the man were too clear. She couldn't even hide the fact that all she wanted from him was money.
"Some people are just too shameless, isn't this the case of sucking a well dry," she didn't try hiding her disgust and hidden meaning which everyone understood.
Kim Eun-Jung scoffed at this and ignored her remark, thinking of them as stupid. She turned back to the guy she was holding hands with her bright big doe eyes staring at his almond ones. The boy involuntarily blushed, giving a response.
"Mhmm."
No one could actually believe it. He actually agreed? Didn't he know how much this room cost? To actually agree, he must really be from a rich family.
Yun Jun-hee couldn't help but look at the young master longer. For just a short time, he felt like the young president had changed. Before, he never liked to showcase his wealth and was often mistaken for an ordinary person from a poor background. Not many knew of his wealthy status as a rich young master, but now, he was actually showing off to a girl? A girl he'd just met for a little less than twenty minutes.
The assistant felt like his blood pressure might rise. He actually agreed!
They all watched as he took a black card from his suite pocket to give it to the receptionist. Wasn't this the legendary black card? They hadn't seen that card before. In all the times they had been working in the high-end luxury hotel, the only level of rich card they saw was the golden card and that was slightly below the black card. Who exactly was this man before them?
Choi Yoon-hee almost vomited blood from the fury she felt in her heart. How lucky was the girl before them to actually find a wealthy young tycoon. How she wished she was the one in her place.
Seeing the black card that had just been given to the receptionist, the assistant was about to pass out. He used his legendary black card? The young master never uses his black card for anything! This was definitely a huge deal.
Kim Eun-Jung, watching this, also felt a little flustered. She had not imagined that earlier, when she had seen him, she would actually end up catching a big fish. Wasn't this just too coincidental? It wasn't that she'd never seen that amount of money before, it was the fact that her luck seemed to have changed, and to even think that he actually agreed?
Jung Ah-ri swiped the card and gave the receipt and the card back with shaky hands. She felt her breathing become faster the more she held the black object. She took another card and gave it to the young mistress next to the man and wished them a lovely time.
Two weeks. She will be staying at the hotel for two weeks. A day in that room is priced more than sixty thousand. What about two weeks? The receptionist released a breath as she watched the two walk further away from them. Truly, the rich have no limits.
On the other hand, Jim Do-ri, who had been white as a ghost and scared out of her wits, was now on the phone with Kim Ju-Won detailing what she had seen. Though not much, she knew that the person she had seen earlier on had the same features as the dead girl Kim Eun-Jung.
"Perhaps you are mistaken. My sister is dead, and we even had her body cremated," Kim Ju-Won from the other end said, her voice pitiful.
Hearing her idol's voice break from sadness, she stopped insisting and, instead, comforted, uttering, "she died because she deserved it, that fake always made trouble for you!" Her voice came out angry at the end.
Kim Ju-Won smiled, happy that her classmate had taken her side. She was not well acquainted with the girl that had phoned her claiming that she had seen her fake sister. The thought that Kim Eun-Jung the impostor was still alive never occurred to her. That's because she made sure of it. She went to prove to herself so, of course, that classmate was talking nonsense.
"You shouldn't say that. She was after all my sister."
"You are way too kind, Ju-Won ," she replied.
After hanging up, Jim Do-ri could not help but shiver at the memory. That fake heiress Kim Eun-Jung? Wasn't she supposed to be dead? Could the girl she had just seen be her look alike? Their features were exactly the same. She even admitted that she was Kim Eun-Jung.
She went back home, the events of the day still in her mind.
Kim Eun-Jung had no luggage, no clothes, no money, and she knew that she would not have been able to afford to pay for the room she was presently in. Like the name it was given, the suite had an exquisite taste and feel to it. This was to her liking. She took her phone and turned it on. It was a few minutes past three in the evening. Her life had just started, and she had no schedule today. A day off wouldn't be bad.
In a long time, this was the first time Kim Eun-Jung had gotten the opportunity to casually lay down lazily without worrying about her work schedule. She looked up at the ceiling of the room, her train of thoughts roaming away. The life she had known was gone, and she had then taken on a new identity and role. She was the antagonist to this story that she herself had taken part in writing without actually knowing the twists and turns her novel had.
Was this what the fortune-teller meant? Was she in her novel because of the death card? The girl recalled her conversation with the old woman. End and beginning. Did it mean that being in her novel was her new beginning?
If it was, Kim Eun-Jung did not want to waste her reincarnation being a villain for a silly duo, she wanted to start afresh, earn money and get wealthy using her learned skills and experiences. She was determined to make the previous Kim Eun-Jung's life better, not about searching and fighting for a one-sided love that would never belong to her.
Kim Eun-Jung was going to start a new story. Her own story where she is the protagonist.
Determination flared in her eyes with the thought, a smile appearing on her face while she fell asleep thinking of a great possibility of having a greater life.
When she woke up it was already one pm. She was hungry, and her stomach was growling as if she hadn't had anything to eat even though she did eat back at the hospital. The kind doctor given the responsibility to watch her by the dean had actually brought her a pretty decent meal.
She got up and walked around the suite that resembled an apartment. It was true that it really did have home decor. She walked in the kitchen area to find everything was set. All it needed was for her to cook and prepare a meal, except, she didn't know how to cook.
Back in Seoul, she was always too preoccupied and barely had enough time for herself and often ate in restaurants. At the moment, she knew she had to learn something for her survival. She went back to bed, making a list of the things she would need currently, starting off with clothing, a laptop and some snacks.
She gazed at her hands, pushing the sleeves back to expose her porcelain hands. The marks were fading. However, aside from that, she felt that something was wrong with her body. She had been poisoned and that's why her healing rate was slower than normal and, according to her pulse, it was also a reason why the original owner had poor grades before.
Even the doctors at the hospital couldn't detect this type of poison. She was going to start off with traditional medicine. It was quick and would take not more than a day for it to be effective.
