Chapter 5

Aidan

"You want me to be that to you?" he asked locking the space between us.

"You are crazy." she stated.

"Yah! Crazy about you."

I don't think it's either the alcohol or the drugs that made me behave such with her. More like I was crazy indeed. The feeling was so intense making me forget I was merely a stranger to her. She looked so sexy while drunk. Her half opened eyes messed me up. Soon I was tracing my thumb across her right cheek. Unable to keep it together I slightly leaned in.

"Don't." she slightly raised her voice.

Eyes on mine as her palms rested on my chest. They were warm, so warm that it was kind of hard not to lean over her shoulder to rekindle the affection she once made me feel the first time I saw her.

"What are you doing?" she asked calmy.

Luckily she didn't push me away.

"Am a little drunk." I lied.

I never get drunk that easily especially Drugs might get me high but not that high enough to make me do stupid things. This one was on me. I wanted all this to happen that's why I followed her to the stalls even though I knew it was a ladies room.

Suddenly a couple of girls came in.

"Man get a room." one of them spoke.

I had no other way but to accompany her back. Felt so disappointed when I never got the chance to taste those beautiful lips of hers that I've been yearning for so long.

"Took you long enough." Sam directed it to me.

Nadia sat besides me even though she instantly said no when asked to. The feeling was mutual. I wanted to be besides her yet she didn't spare me a single glance.

"So I make you uncomfortable?" I whispered in her ear.

The loud music didn't make it easy to communicate at all with her.

"Come with me."

I led her away after promising to get her back immediately I get a call saying she was needed.

"This feels nice." she spoke cheerfully once we were at the balcony. We heard the disco music from afar which was way better.

"It does." I stated looking at her from afar.

Damn, she is all I ever wanted, I thought to myself of how life could have been beautiful with such a beauty by my side. She was indeed everything a man ever needed. The ways she carried herself, the way she talked, her voice, her laughs smile giggles, her sexy eyes. I was drowning slowly, before I could notice she was already in front of me.

"What are you thinking about?" she asked eyes focused on mine.

For a second there I couldn't breath.

'Get hold of yourself Aidan.' I Talked to myself trying to keep it cool and behave properly.

"Why don't you give me a chance. You'll see I ain't that bad."

For a moment there she slightly smiled then went on checking the city from where we were. This gave me plenty of time to savior in her facial curves from her forehead down to her chin. The loosely tied bun on her head made it simple to see everything she had to offer in terms of beauty.

"If you keep staring ill dig up your eyes." she warned.

"She's a beauty." I spoke.

"She knows." she stated afterwards.

"Then do I have the honor of being her friend." I asked.

"Depends..." she dragged.

"On what."

Her attention drifted from the dark city ahead back to me. A gesture was what I did. A step closer but she then stepped back. Immediately I pulled her closer to me with my left arm still dangling on her waist even after she was close to me.

"This is dangerous you do know that."

"What's dangerous is how you make me feel." I responded.

My hard walls, that I build over the past came crumbling down so easily. This was a night I would never forget in my entire life. She easily made me feel everything I had lost in the past. I wasn't going to let this chance escape. I became selfish and the next thing I did was lean over and took her by her lips.She neither rejected nor accepted.

I got so worked up and held her hair harshly with my right locking us closer so that I'd get more of her. Slowly she dived in and kissed me back slightly. If not that I was so focused on her action it could have passed me by without noticing it.

Suddenly my phone rang. She broke it off. A clear indication of how disappointed I was. Checking the caller ID it was Neal.

"Code red, her man is looking for her." with that the line went dead.

"I should probably go."

For a second there I didn't want to let her go. I had no idea when I'd ever see her again. If not for bribing Sam to telling us the next time they come clubbing, I could never have seen her.

"Your phone."

At first she was reluctant but she gave in after telling her I won't let her go f she doesn't save my number. There we were exchanging numbers. This I knew I'd see her in the near future as long as I had her contacts.

Soon she bid me bye. That was not until I felt the urge to grab her back into my arms and kissed her again this time harshly. I was so desparate for her affection.

Belinda

"Where have you been?" Harvey asked as I came closer to him.

"Ladies room."

"Let's go. I'll get you home first." he stated.

"Why the hurry?"I asked taking my hand bag while signalling for Sam to stand we are about to leave.

" Tomorrow I'll be heading to Texas for a business meeting. "he stated.

" What! "I spoke out loudly.

He only eyed me for a second there before he got a call. By the looks of it, it was an emergency one.

" Wait here I'll go take this. "

Couple of minutes late he was back.

" Sam can I trust you with Bel, to take her home?"He asked her.

" Yah sure. "she responded.

" Sorry babe I know this is so sudden but I have to go. You get home safely. I'll call you when I get there. "

A simple peck was all that he could afford. Soon he was nowhere to be seen. Sam came running up to me.

" Now we have the night to ourselves." she screamed at the top of her lungs.

That moment, I know I should be happy but I don't know why I had a bad gut feeling about all this. All the moods for the night disappeared into thin air. Felt so empty inside me. Now I was only thinking about sleep.

"Bel, don't be like that. This is an amazing opportunity that we will never have in future days." she tried putting some sense into me.

"I quit Sam. Am off to home."

With that I hanged my bag on my shoulder, as I took a step away from Sam there he was the guy who I have come to conclude with him I am not in the right sense of mind.

"Leaving so soon." It was more like a statement than a question.

"Yah." I spoke as I tried walking away.

"You okay?" he asked concern written all over his face.

"Don't mind her. She moody." I heard Sam speak while  walking away without answering.

"Bel, wait I haven't order an Uber" Sam spoke while I qmade way through the crowd.

Soon I stood at the exit waiting for Sam to show herself. It has been like five minutes and she was nowhere to be seen.

"Bel, get in." there it was Sam's voice.

She was at the back seat of a Jeep. I saw Neal pocking his face to see me. The driver, it was Aidan. I must be damned if I entered that car. On the other hand it was fucking cold out here. Quickly I made to the jeep and settled in before the cold could freeze me to death.

"Here." Aidan handed me a jacket.

"You never share your clothes." I heard Neal speak from the back seat.

My eyes flashed to Aidan's direction. He didn't utter a single word till I took the jacket from him.

"One more word from you and you will walk back home." He warned.

Something about him told me he wasn't joking. Neal obeyed and remained shut. The two back seat seems to be getting along well. They talked laughed made jokes. I envied how it was so easy for Sam to connect so fast.

Aidan and I remained silent the entire drive. I chose to take a nap. I was exhausted and the thought of Harvey leaving all of a sudden didn't seat well with me.

"Wake up Bel."

I struggled to open my eyes when I heard my name being called. There I was rubbing them gently before opening them. Damn be this guy. His eyes were on mine staring deep into mines. For a second there I could actually sense I was nervous about the whole situation.

"Where are we?" I asked in a low voice after quickly roaming my eyes past Aidan to the surrounding.

"Why don't you see for yourself." he stated while stretching his hand for me to hold onto when I alight the car.

Damn the house was a castle meant for a king.

"Am I in heaven?" I asked.

That was literally the only thing I had in mind.

"You wish." Sam said walking away.

I followed suit too. The house was magnificent.

"Welcome aboard." Neal spoke as he opened the door.

"Wow." Sam said.

I agree this was something out of this world. Just starting from the drive way down lane to the entrance of the house. It was more organised compared to my apartment. So clean but the atmosphere was of adulthood. Plain black and grey was what the interior made of. Compared to my apartment which had colours of the rainbow.

"Anyone drinks?" Neal asked.

This Sam couldn't afford to raincheck.

"Yeah." she responded.

We all eyed her.

"What! It's rich people's scotch I can never say no to that."

Just like that we settled in for the night. I had countless debates in my head trying to figure out what kind of work Aidan could possibly be doing to get such a mansion. Not even Harvey as such. He owns a big house just not this big and classy.

" Are you okay?" Aidan asked.

"Yeah." I whispered.

"You don't know how to lie you know that right?"

For a second there our eyes met. He was sitting right besides me slouching in the couch looking to my direction. I got nervous breaking up our eye contact. Yet one way he got closer dragging back my eyes back to his.

" I'll get you to bed. "he finally spoke.

Checking out Sam she had already dozed off. Well it was bound to happen. She had drowned herself with drinks. Neal was still on but he looked tipsy.

" Get her to bed. " heard Aidan tell Neal.

Soon he was leading me to my supposed room. Up the stairs to the third floor, far end of the hallway I spotted a two doors opposite each other other.

"Here." he stated opening the door.

It was dark yet I made out several features. The room looked pretty simple and tidy. On the other hand it had several antiques that kind off looked expensive.

"So this is goodnight?" he asked leaning on the door post.

"Yeah." I answered.

There he was leaning in closing the space between us.

"Don't worry your pretty head with meaningless stuffs. He will be back."

For a while I watched him speak then I slightly nodded.
