Episode-16: Rushing Back to See His wife

Ethan was resting, leaning on the couch, his eyes closed, deep in thoughts about the last five years he spent preserving something that was barely there.

The door was gently pushed open from outside, maybe Ethan got tired from the journey or was too deep in his chain of thoughts about the last five years to hear any sound in the room.

The afternoon sunlight was coming from the window, which was left open on the balcony.

The light gently fell onto his face, glowing his sharp chiselled features and giving off a gentle image of Ethan.

Slowly, bare footsteps approached the couch, and a fair pair of feet stopped in front of him, eyes looking down at his calm, handsome face slowly trailing from his face to his Adam's apple.

"Ethan"

Ethan frowned hearing his name out of nowhere and that too from an unknown voice. He immediately opened his eyes, a cold glint sweeping past his eyes before a figure hugged him tightly sitting on his lap.

"Finally, I got to see you."

"Ethan, I missed you"

"I waited so long for you."

"All along bearing all kinds of hardships here."

"Ethan... I sacrificed a lot for you."

Ethan was taken away by the series of actions and words. His mind was not able to process anything that the woman in his arms was saying.

He holds her arms to move her away from his body, but she bites down on his neck, making him groan in pain. Ethan did not think twice before using all his force to throw the woman on the ground with a loud thud, not caring about anything and just wanting to stay away. She was thrown on the ground, crashing her back on the wooden shelf, and from the impact, the vase fell on the ground, shattering into pieces.

"E... Ethan why?" The woman was in utter confusion, a devastating look hovering over her body as she mumbled looking in his direction as if she never expected him to throw her like this on the ground without any qualms.

Ethan's face visibly darkened, his jaw clenched, his eyes seething with anger.

Housekeeper Chen hurried over a few maids following closely behind him. He rushed here after hearing the sound, but before he could ask anything or express his worry, he was stunned to see Lucy on the ground, dressed in a red provocative sleeveless lacy nightdress and her make-up, bold and suggestive.

It's the first day of their third Young master coming here to live with his wife, and this happened not long after, an hour after his arrival.

A few maids, those who were at the last, started to whisper among themselves, seeing the dishevelled Lucy on the ground as tears simmered down from her face.

"Call the police," Ethan said, fury surging in his eyes as he glared at the woman in front of him.

Her motive for approaching him was clear. There is no need for stupid, prolonged conversations and hearing her excuses and motives.

"Ethan! Why are you treating me like this? You are finally here. Why? Look at me. Please." Lucy fell onto the ground crying pitifully as she looked at him.

"Housekeeper Chen" Ethan glanced at the housekeeper, his voice cold laced with anger.

Housekeeper Chen immediately came back to his senses and asked the maids behind him to drag Lucy away and called the police.

The room fell into since after Lucy's hysterical screams vanished from sight. Ethan again stepped into the bathroom.

Genesis walked out with five professors walking alongside her. All were engaged in the discussion. Two of them were talking with Genesis.

"It's almost evening. I have booked a nearby place for some tea and snacks. We should all relax there and exchange words." One of the Professors in the group of respectable educators said.

Genesis raised her head, about to say when her eyes caught a glimpse of Ethan standing not far from her. He was dressed in a black shirt and pants, an overcoat on his upper body, looking aloof yet alluring, standing there against the car, looking in her direction fixedly.

After finishing showering Ethan did not linger there any longer and came here to wait for Genesis to finish her work.

He did not want to admit but he was scared out of his wits because of what happened there.

He hurriedly came here finding his wife to find a safe place to stay and have some peace. Sigh~ only a wife can bring real peace in his world now.

Even He, himself, was taken aback when the thought of rushing to Genesis' side and waiting for her to finish her work came into his mind.

He could have gone to the nearby café or a hotel to rest or wait for her, but he stubbornly stood there looking straight at the entrance without bulging.

He sighed helplessly at the realization. He only got married three days ago and now running back to find his wife after encountering such a thing right on their first trip together.

Well, this actually gave him a mini heart attack. He did not want to mistreat or hurt Genesis in this marriage. At least, he would never be the reason for her misery throughout the marriage. That was the promise he made to himself when he signed the marriage agreement.

"My husband is here." Genesis turned to look at the Professors and said softly with a faint smile curling on her lips.

Almost at the same time, 20 eyes were locked on Ethan's face, making him stiff under their scrutinizing gaze.

"You did not tell us about your marriage, Genesis. Secretly got married." One of them said.

"Why don't you ask your husband to come with us also? You have not introduced him to us. We can test him for you."

Genesis smiled at them, "Let me ask him."

She walked towards him. Ethan looked at her, "Still not done?" He asked looking at those people waiting behind her.

"They all are the professors I have worked with, and some of them have been a good guide for me. They want to invite you for the evening snack. Do you have time to come?"

Ethan smiled, a feeling of relief and solace washing over him as he stayed with her.

"Sure. We came here for your work and enjoyed it for a while. It's not bad to have evening tea with them. Let's go." Ethan gently took her hand in his palm, softly holding onto her hand and walking forward.

Genesis stared at their clasped hands as the tip of her ear flushed red.

It feels so good to hold his hand.
