Episode 5

As soon as Lyra arrived at the Blackwood pack, she was welcomed with open arms by her father, Magnus. Despite the rumors that echoed in every corner of the territory, the glances that rose curious or doubtful, Magnus did not let himself be carried away by the gossip. Instead, when he saw Lyra, his heart was filled with love and relief. There was nothing in the world that could come between him and his daughter, and seeing her return, though wounded, was enough to know that he would not let her fall again.

"My little one," he said as he wrapped her in a warm hug, ignoring the voices that began to murmur about the young wolf's return. "You suffered because of that scoundrel."

Lyra, who had believed her heart shattered and her spirit broken, felt her eyes moisten. She knew that her father would never turn his back on her, but hearing his voice filled with compassion and pride reminded her that there was still something good in her life.

"Don't worry, Father. Lucian will pay dearly for what he has done. Because the day I died was also the day I came back to life. And now... now I will live in a different way, suitable for someone like me."

Magnus looked at her with bright eyes, a mixture of joy and sadness reflected in his gaze. He had dreamed so many times that his daughter would find a mate who would give her the happiness he wanted for her, but he never imagined that the Moon Goddess would pair her with a heartless alpha.

"Don't worry, darling. I'll take care of him. I'll make him regret hurting you," Magnus said, with a tone so severe that it left no room for doubt.

But Lyra shook her head, remaining calm.

"Of course not, Father. The mistake was mine, and I will take care of fixing it. Besides, you have a responsibility to our people, and you can't break the rules. But I… I am not alpha of any pack. The blame will fall only on me."

Magnus watched her in silence, processing her words. Although it pained him, he knew that she was right. His duty as alpha was to protect his pack, and Lyra was willing to bear the consequences of her actions. He sighed, trying to accept that his little one was not as helpless as he believed.

"We will send someone, Lyra. But you will not take any risks. That is my decision," Magnus stated firmly.

Lyra narrowed her eyes, nodding in apparent agreement, although deep down she knew that her heart would not let her stand by. After a few seconds, she mustered the courage to make another request.

"Father... I want to train like any wolf."

Magnus looked at her in surprise. For a moment, he didn't know if he had heard correctly.

"What are you saying?" he murmured, his face showing a mixture of disbelief and displeasure. "No, I refuse. You are not just any wolf. You are my daughter."

Lyra sighed, knowing that her father could be incredibly stubborn when it came to her. Still, she had to try.

"Father, look at me. I need to strengthen myself and learn to defend myself. Even though I received my wolf earlier than most, the Moon Goddess did not grant me any special gift. How can I protect myself without help?"

Magnus looked at her for a long moment before standing up and closing the office door, making sure no one else could hear.

"You have to be very cautious, Lyra," he said in a low voice. "I have made sure that no one knows that you don't have a gift, so it would be best if we kept that a secret."

"Precisely, Father. The day I need to defend myself, I don't want to look ridiculous. At least allow me to learn to fight," she pleaded.

Magnus sighed deeply. He knew that it was impossible to dissuade her when Lyra set her mind to something. Finally, he nodded, accepting her request.

"Fine... do it, then. But be very careful."

The days in the pack began to pass quickly. Nessa, who had also joined the Blackwood pack, had earned the respect of the pack members thanks to her tireless work as the healer's assistant. Her frank character and her enthusiasm made her loved by all. The wolves who initially saw her as a foreigner soon welcomed her as part of the community, and she felt more at home than ever.

On the other hand, Lyra dedicated every free moment to training, determined to improve her strength and her skills. Under the supervision of Roderic, an experienced wolf warrior, Lyra faced arduous training, which tested both her physical endurance and her willpower. Roderic, who initially underestimated the young woman's ability, soon realized that his student not only learned quickly, but possessed an unbreakable determination.

"I didn't expect someone like you to have so much guts," Roderic said one morning, after a particularly intense session.

Lyra, panting as she tried to catch her breath, just smiled wryly.

"I guess I've spent too much time being seen as someone weak. I'm not going to let that continue."

With each blow and each fall, Lyra grew stronger, her body hardening and adapting to the discipline of combat. Over time, other wolves in the pack began to notice her progress, and the looks of doubt turned into respect. Magnus Blackwood's daughter was not a simple heiress, but a warrior in training.

Among the people who supported her the most was her friend Nessa, who watched her train and sometimes gave her words of encouragement.

"I don't know how you endure it, Lyra," Nessa commented one day, laughing. "I would have fallen in the first round."

Lyra returned the smile, feeling the pain in her muscles and in her wounds.

"It's not easy, but if I have to face Lucian, then I must be prepared. I can't let him have the advantage next time."

Nessa looked at her with admiration and pride, as if she understood that Lyra had been reborn from the ashes of pain and humiliation. She knew that her friend was not only training to fight physically, but to heal the scars that Lucian had left on her soul.

The days passed, and with each one of them, Lyra felt stronger, more confident in herself. Her father, although worried, couldn't help but feel proud. The little wolf he had once protected with zeal was becoming a powerful woman, willing to face anyone who challenged her. And in the meantime, rumors about the return of Magnus Blackwood's daughter spread like wildfire through the neighboring packs, creating a mixture of fear and expectation.

Magnus watched his daughter from a distance, his heart divided between love and pride. He knew that, in the end, no matter how much he wanted to protect her, Lyra was destined to be much more than he ever dreamed for her.
