Hidden Library

Jungwon sat cross-legged on his bed, bathed in the soft glow of his laptop screen. The cursor blinked rhythmically on the search bar, as if waiting for him to unravel the mysteries of Amarna. His mind buzzed with questions, each one a knot of curiosity begging to be untied.

What happened after the execution? Who was the villain behind the shadows? What fate befell the once-great King? These questions echoed in his mind, driving him to delve deeper into the enigmatic history of Amarna.

With furrowed brows, Jungwon scoured the depths of the internet, clicking through articles, forums, and historical archives. Yet, despite his efforts, the answers remained elusive, like grains of sand slipping through his fingers.

Frustration gnawed at him as he realized the scarcity of information available. It was as if the secrets of Amarna were veiled in an impenetrable shroud, guarded by the sands of time.

But Jungwon refused to be deterred. With a renewed determination, he leaned closer to the screen, his fingers dancing across the keyboard in search of any clue, any hint that could shed light on the mysteries that haunted him.

Hours passed in a blur as Jungwon delved deeper into the labyrinth of historical records and obscure references. The silence of the afternoon enveloped  him, broken only by the soft hum of his laptop and the occasional click of the mouse.

" That's it!! I need help! " Jungwon screamed and left for his university.

Jungwon's footsteps echoed through the corridors of the university, his heart pounding with anticipation. He had been searching for his professor tirelessly, driven by his insatiable curiosity about the enigmatic Amarna kingdom. Finally, he spotted her, engrossed in conversation with a group of students.

With a sense of urgency, Jungwon approached her, his words tumbling out in a rush as he explained his fascination with Amarna and his frustration at the lack of available texts. The professor's eyebrows shot up in surprise, a mixture of astonishment and intrigue crossing her features.

"Amarna? That's quite an ambitious topic to delve into, Jungwon," she remarked, her voice tinged with admiration for his audacity. "Very little information exists about that period, you know."

Undeterred, Jungwon pressed on, sharing his theories and hypotheses with his professor. He hung onto her every word as she delved into the complexities of ancient history, her expertise shining through in every explanation.

As their conversation unfolded, the professor's expression softened, a hint of sympathy flickering in her eyes. "I may have a lead for you, Jungwon," she said, her voice lowering conspiratorially. "Our university is incredibly old, and many of the original texts were stored in the underground archives of the library."

Jungwon's eyes widened in excitement at the prospect of uncovering hidden treasures buried beneath the earth. With a grateful nod to his professor, he wasted no time in rushing towards the university's underground library, his heart racing with anticipation.

Underground library was a restricted area where only professor's were allowed. Jungwon with the help of professor was able to enter there.

As he descended into the dimly lit depths of the underground archives, Jungwon's pulse quickened with each step. The air was heavy with the scent of ancient parchment, and the shelves groaned under the weight of centuries-old tomes.

" Wow, this is heaven! " Jungwon exclaimed.

With trembling hands, Jungwon began to sift through the dusty volumes, his eyes scanning each page for any mention of Amarna. Time seemed to stand still as he lost himself in the labyrinth of forgotten knowledge, his determination unwavering in the face of uncertainty.

And then, just as hope threatened to fade, Jungwon's fingers brushed against a weathered tome tucked away in a secluded corner. With bated breath, he opened it, his eyes widening in disbelief at the words that leapt off the page.

The old book cradled in Jungwon's hands felt like a relic of a forgotten era, its pages yellowed with age and laden with the weight of centuries. As he traced the intricate patterns etched into the weathered cover, a shiver ran down my spine. This was it—the key to unlocking the secrets of Amarna, the kingdom shrouded in mystery and tragedy.

With trembling hands, he turned the fragile pages, each one whispering tales of a bygone era. And then, amidst the faded ink and delicate parchment, he found the passage he had been searching for—the story of King Kim Taehyung and the downfall of Amarna.

(King Kim Taehyung's Pov)

The war had raged on for what felt like an eternity, each passing day bringing with it new trials and tribulations for me and my valiant soldiers. For seventy-five long days, we had fought tirelessly against the relentless onslaught of their enemies, our determination unwavering in the face of adversity.

The battlefield had become a symphony of chaos and despair, the air thick with the acrid scent of smoke and the deafening roar of cannons. Yet amidst the chaos, I stood tall, a beacon of hope for my people.

Today marks the day for another great victory for capital city of Amarna and now we all headed towards the palace. The weather is bad from last week due to which it took us more time to reach.

Another cloudy day and we finally reached capital of Amarna but something seems off. Every time Amarna won any battle, my people welcomed us with happy faces but today everyone looks strange. My heart automatically started palpitating fastly, I'm scared of something which I don't even know. The whole atmosphere looks so gloomy like we've lost the battle.

We increased our pace because it looked like it's going to rain again. But when I reached the heart of the market, my world shattered into a million pieces.

There, suspended in the air like a macabre puppet, was the lifeless body of my queen. His once-vibrant eyes were closed, his pallid cheeks devoid of color. The sight robbed me of breath, of reason, of everything I had ever known.

I dismounted my horse with leaden limbs, my heart aching with a pain too deep for words. Ignoring the whispers and the stares, I cradled him in my arms, my fingers tracing the contours of his cold skin. I kept staring into his face. His once-pinkish lips had turned a pallid shade of blue, the warmth that had once radiated from his body now replaced by an icy chill that seemed to seep into his very bones.

Suddenly the land of Amarna hit with storms and everyone started rushing towards their homes. But where should I go now? I never cried infront of any living being, not even during my mother's death. It was a part of my training but today I couldn't control myself.

My lips trembled but nothing came out, not a word, not even a whisper. And then he appeared—Kim Seokjin, the serpent in our midst, his words dripping with venomous deceit. He dared to speak of betrayal, of treachery, as if he held the truth in the palm of his hand. But I knew better—I knew the truth lay buried within the depths of his lies.

" Whatever happened is for kingdom's good, Your Majesty. His body was hanging here since two days but none show any emotions but now if you'll sympathize with a betrayer then it will result into chaos among the subjects." Seokjin said without any emotions. Like the person who was nurturing their Kingdom meant nothing at all to them. How ungrateful can one be?

With a wrath born of grief and rage, I silenced him with a single stroke, his blood staining the ground like a crimson tide. And then, with my queen's lifeless form cradled against my chest, I disappeared into the night, leaving behind a kingdom teetering on the brink of collapse.

Some archaeologists says that after that King Kim Taehyung spend his whole life in Shipla forest. Whereas their's another group of archaeologists says that he later got captured by his own younger brother and was captivated inside the most terrifying prison for rest of his life. But theirs no evidence supporting any of the possibilities.

As Jungwon read the final words of the passage, he didn't even realized that he was crying.

Why does it hurts so much?

Did the King really didn't cared for the Queen? If that's the case then why it looks like his entire world collapsed.

He left his Kingdom for his Queen. he didn't cared for people who closed their eyes when his Queen was wronged then how can they say that he was heartless? Their has to be something between the two.

More questions raised in his mind and he then took a bold decision, he'll visit Egypt.
