Chapter 4: Media and Authorities

Currently on the later part of my duty: 7 pm news started.

Mr. Leandro's death was widely reported in the media, but it also allowed numerous speculations to be substantiated. According to news reports, authorities discovered files on his personal computer, including videos of his wife's torturing and his son's unconsciousness. This is becoming one of the most significant pieces of news in human history. A prosperous tycoon and father is murdered in his own home in addition to all the atrocities he did.

Anyway, we truly don't care who they are. It is our responsibility as members of the organisation to never know the history of our delivery.

As I am nearly finished with my work since I am meant to clock out at 7 p.m., Alex appears in my peripheral view, staring blankly at the television, which has now been turned off. I am not sure if he is sad or what.

The other day,

Oh, it's a lovely weekend. I work full-time at the noodle store on weekends, which is wonderful because money is money.

"Good morning, Boss!!" He appears to have gotten a horrible night's sleep, so I didn't trouble him any further.

I prepare the shop by sweeping the floor, wiping the tables, and then cleaning the chairs. Clean spaces attract money.

Alex appears to have just awoken and is wandering half asleep.

"Hey, Alex, wash your face first, then have breakfast in the kitchen, Boss Q. Tell me to remind you." I remarked while wiping tables, but he still marches right to the kitchen.

Not long after he entered the kitchen, a knock from the shop's front door echoed through the four walls.

(KNOCK)

(KNOCK)

 "Police, please be cooperative and open the door!" a deep, powerful voice yelled at the door.

I rush to the door and open it. There are three police officers: two in uniform and one detective.

Officer Taro Waje (my right) - Veteran patrol officer, 39, with 15 years of experience.

Officer Lila Mauricio (my left) - Rookie patrol officer, 25, eager to prove herself.

Investigator Kenji Rondo (center) -Lead investigator, 45, specializing in murder cases. """""""""

"Please enter, and may I inquire as to the purpose of your visit today?" I gently ask, smiling.

"We are here to invite Mr. Leandros' son for questioning at the precinct," the officer on my right side responds.

They enter and seat at a nearby table, and I summon Alex. "Boss, police are outside." I inform him while tapping my nose twice and placing my hand on my head as if I were straightening my hair. A sign that reads 'Safe, no suspicions.

 After that, I said, "Felix they are looking for you."

(Remember Alex is Felix)

Alex presents to the police and is taken to the station.

Alex Point of view

Evie yells at the front of the restaurant while I'm seated in front of the table.

She tapped her nose twice and then fixed her hair at the side of her forehead, saying, "Boss police are outside." What was that? I'm clueless.

"Felix they are looking for you," she continued.

I get up right away and follow the policeman's instructions. When Officer Taro said, "We would like to invite you for some questions,"

"I will cooperate." I respond hesitantly since I'm worried about how we're going to get this far.

I turn to give Evie one more look as we all head out the front door of the store. I'm trying to find out if she feels sorry for my father's passing.

But gazing back at her was a foolish decision; she glances at me as if to say,

"Mess this, then your next."

At the police station,

the policemen directed me to the interrogation room. It contains three chairs, one rectangular table, a large mirror to the right, and cameras in four corners of the room. I believe it is likewise soundproof here. As soon as I heard the door open, my pulse rate began to accelerate, as did my conscience and thoughts.

Officer Taro entered the room first, followed by Officer Lila, and they both sat in front of me.

"We'd want to ask you a few questions; I know you have some recent bruises and a blacked eye, but---" he paused for a moment. My body trembles as I worry and try to avoid the truth.

" Can you tell us about your feelings for your father?" he added

After hearing what he said, I began sobbing not because I remember how painful it was to be punched, kicked, and yelled at, but because I feel guilty, and I know I am the one who sells my father out and because I was worried about what would happen if I inadvertently blew myself up.

They gave me a minute or two to calm down. After calming down, I told the officer about my father's abusive behavior. "Officer, I still remember my father loving my mother, and they used to have friday date nights and even go aboard every month. I thought he is a loving father. After my mom finish transferring all her assets to dad, one day, I woke up from my afternoon nap and found my parents shouting at each other. My mom said 'what happened to you!?" but my dad didn't answer. Instead, she hit my mom in the head with a vase, and she immediately sat on the floor. My maid noticed me and said, 'Go back to your room.' quietly. As I was about to walk back to my room, I noticed him grab my mother's hair and bring her to the basement, locking her there." I take a deep breath.

Looking down at the floor and not seeing any of the officers.

"A week after the turmoil in the house, the maids informed me that my mother had died. She had been taken to the hospital, but she was pronounced dead upon arrival."- I added.

Then I cautiously raise my gaze to see how the officers react.

Officer Taro looks at me in surprise, possibly perplexed as to how humans can be so cruel, while officer Lila looks straight into one corner of the room, as if she is keeping back tears from falling down her cheeks.

"How do you feel then about your father's death?" - said Officer Lila

*A hard question for me; one wrong word and I'm dead.

"I am sad, of course, since he is still my father" - I answered with a low tone of voice and a teary eyes.

After that inquiry, they didn't asked me much more. They decided to call it a day for me and released me to go home.

As I passed past the hallway, police officers commented on how harsh and pitiful my condition was. I simply cover my face and move faster away from the station.

I can't really control my smile.
