Chapter 3

Ethan was uneasy, and the scent was driving me insane, I followed the scent restlessly trying to find out where it was from.

Gone was the thought of leaving, I madly chased the scent like a thirsty animal would chase water, Ethan kept on saying mate, mate while threatening to show his form.

We followed the scent but when we reached a particular passage, the scent vanished. As astounded as I was, I tried so hard to track the scent but failed, while Ethan just silently wailed.

After a while I realized that I found my mate in the human realm, which meant that my mate was a disgusting human.

I frowned and said to Ethan through our mind pact "How dare you?" Ethan who was already furious due to the missing scent of our mate growled tenaciously at me.

He said "What do you mean how dare I, she is our freaking mate, why do I have to care if she is a human or not, my only desire is to mark her, mate with her and love her, you piece of scum."

He angrily shut me out with a mind barrier and what it did was just annoy me further.

Like as if it wasn't enough, when I turned to head back to school, I saw my dad looking at me furiously.

He walked peacefully towards me and I knew that was just the Calm before the storm. He grabbed my collar and pulled me to an empty alley then said with a scary smile,

"Kai, what the hell are you doing in the human realm when there is school ongoing?". "D…dad I was just...", I said but was ruthlessly interrupted.

"You were just what?" "I was looking for my mate". He walked closer to me and said "What makes you think I will believe that lie you always say all the time, hmm?"

"It's the truth this time I swear". Be sighed obviously frustrated and said "Whatever just make sure this is the last time you come here without permission, you get that?".

I nodded and then we both left. Throughout our journey to school, Ethan ignored me and remained silent.

AN HOUR AGO,

"Muuum, I'm going out for some toiletries for college." I yelled while putting on my shoes. "Okay sweetie be careful out there."

(The time for college is quickly approaching but I have almost no prepared items). I walked towards the shop selling college stuff.

After spending half an hour at the shop, I decided to buy a few snacks to chomp on when I am bored when suddenly, I had sharp pain in my head.

The pain became almost unbearable, thinking that it couldn't get worse, I heard a faint voice in my head.

Thinking it was my imagination, I decided to take a break from shopping and head home but the voice came again.

This time it was clearer and I could make out an m and t sound. I sighed thinking that I am certainly imagining it.

As I pulled further from the shop towards my home, the pain became worse. By the time I reached home the pain vanished and so did the voice which made me believe that I was just imagining it.

After thinking for a while I decided to tell my mum about the incident that occurred a while back. I ran up to her room and after I was given permission to enter, I went up to her and said,

"Mum, can you believe the crazy shit that just happened while I was out shopping?". With a confused face and raised eyebrows she asked,

"What Happened dear?" "Mum, when I was busy shopping for stuff, I suddenly felt a mind breaking pain. It felt like my mind was going to get crushed and almost made me faint."

She stood up abruptly and said with worry written all over her face, "What?, how did that happen?, are you okay baby?," "Don't worry mum, I am feeling much better now."

I helped her sit down and continued, "As I was saying, although I am not sure, when the pain came, maybe it was because of the tremendous amount of pain, I thought I heard a voice in my head".

After those words left my mouth her face turned pale and she asked, "What do you mean by voice in your head?"

"I don't think it is real because the voice was weak, it was trying to say something but the only words I could get was an m and t sound, it was like m..te".

"Huh?, do you mean mate?". She said as her eyes grew wider with each words that came out from my mouth.

"Yes I think so but it can still be a figment of my imagination so don't worry much about it." She gave me a forced smile and said, "Y..yes m...maybe you a..are just imagining it"

"Well mum, with that out of the way, I am going upstairs for a quick shower and to read the rules of wester college, see ya later".

She nodded with her head hung low. I was a bit worried but decided to just go with the flow and headed out to my room.

ELIZABETH POV

(Dammit what did she mean by voice in the head and how come the voice said mate.) Taking a deep breath I thought (Maybe it was really a figment of her imagination.)

(She can't be one of them right, I know I am, but she definitely can't, maybe I am just over thinking this it's Lena I am talking about, it is not the first time she had weird illusions like these).

(And if she is really one of them why didn't it show on her 16th birthday like usual but show when she is 18).

(Thinking about all this I think I am right she can't be one of them like me. Her father's Gene has to rub of on her so that she can stay safe).

(I think it will be better if she goes away from here for a while and recuperate).
