Chapter 9

They were finally inside. It was a big school that left a good impression from the very first day.

Lucas and Hope started heading in so they would go find their classroom. The hallways were filled with confused and excited students that were trying to find their own classes too.

A few teachers were guiding the unsettled pupils so the first day of school would start.

"Students that are in class 1 please follow me" A female teacher said and a large group of students gathered in front of her.

"Hello everyone, nice to meet you. My name is Ember-well miss Ember for you and I am your homeroom teacher. We will start the introduction in the class so lets go."

Hope was looking as they were leaving, waiting patiently for their homeroom teacher to come.

After a while, a man could be seen running towards them. He was panting and had a few sweat drops dripping from his face.

"God I-I have never run that fast in my life. Huff... huff.. damn" He said as he tried to collect himself.

He cleared his throat and stood up straight.

"Well, my name is Eric and I am your homeroom teacher. You can call me sir.... but I'm quite young, dont make me feel old guys, I'm at my prime.."

Everybody was laughing including Hope and Lucas.

"Anyway, students from class 2 please follow me. Oh... I forgot to mention that I will also be teaching you 2 subjects, since i requested to do that to the class i was assigned to."

They walked further into the school and then took the stairs to the upper floor. Their classroom was spacious and bright. Everyone then proceeded to pick their desks. Friends sat next to each other and new people a bit further.

And then Hope and Lucas had two empty desks next to each other.

"It must be fate..." Lucas said with a smile on his face as he sat down to his desk.

Hope smiled and sighed. " Im also starting to believe that."

They chuckled but soon stopped since the teacher came inside the classroom.

"Well everyone, officially welcome to middle school! As i said before my name is Eric and for the next  year i'll be your homeroom teacher. I hope we can get along and comfortable with each other."

He smiled and sat on top of his desk, he didnt sit on the chair since they wouldn't do anything, they would just speak and get to know everyone better.

"If everyone agrees we can start with the introduction. Whoever wants to start first can just get up, or raise their hand. Say your name or anything else you would like to say so we can learn more about you"

At first no one knew what to say, then Hope raised her hand.

"Oh, we have our first student here. Hello, what's your name?"

She was hesitant at first and then glanced at Lucas.

"Come on Hope, you can do it."

She smiled and looked in front of her.

"well, hi my name is Hope, I love taking pictures and listening to music. I-I wish we can get along."

She was a bit flustered since everyone was looking at her, but she managed to finish her introduction.

"Hope... what a nice name you have, i also love taking pictures maybe we can make a club."

He laughed and everyone was getting more comfortable. They started raising their hand with a smile on their faces.

"Whoah you guys are excited aren't ya. Well, lets continue with the introduction, from the left row to the right one."

Hope was happy she was in need of a good start to keep her mind busy from all the thngs that happened in her home.
