chapter 7: complicated

Raven still couldn't believe her eyes, but sure  enough her aunt was standing infront of her. Tears escaped from Ravens eyes, she ran to Aunt Rose and hugged her tight:" I don't understand any of this, but im happy to have a chance and see you." Aunt Smiled and laughed:" Oh my angel I'm so sorry i left you with out having a chance to explain but im here now." They sat down under a tree after calming down and aunt Rose started explaining:" You're mother wanted to keep the truth away from you until you were ready but i think it's time. About 30 years ago there was a war between the wolves and witches. Your mother was your age at that time. The war went on for 12 years, your mother was the best witch because of her rare blood line. Every witch looked up to her but than one day the wolves decided to bring in the warlocks to help them in the war. They ambushed the witches and won the fight. After that the witches kept losing and warlocks and wolves imprisoned half of the witches. Your mother sneaked into their lair to rescue her comrades but was caught by an warlock. Although something about him was different, your mother could see that. In the end he helped her to rescue the witches. From that day on he was their inside workers. But the warlock and your mother became more than friends, later on your mother was with child, Ace. Your mother and father wanted to change the ways, they showed the people that they can coexist. The werewolves wasn't pleased but excepted. The war ended and Ace was born. As the years went by your mother realised that your father is acting strange, so she spied and did a little digging. She saw that he had plans to make an army out of the dead. He started using black magic, and later he learned how to rase the dead, only one problem was they needed souls. He begged your mother to help him with her gifted magic, claiming his trying to make the world a better place. She refused and your father got aggressive, he screamed and shouted. Your mother knew the human in him was gone and that she had to leave before he learns that she is pregnant with you. So your mother left and went into hiding among normal people. You were born with her magic and you father some how found out about it. That day he sent his man and they killed your mother." Raven was amazed but shocked. Although all her answers was given to her, she still had a lot of questions:" Aunt Rose I've been meaning to ask. Is it possible for a spirite to connect with me in a dream." Aunt Rose frowned:" There are times that spirits can't rest because they have unfinished business so they try to talk to that person in dreams. Why do you ask my child?" Raven sighed:" Well lately I've been having a lot of nightmares about mother. She keeps telling me i need to know the truth and that a bird always spread their wings." Aunt Rose sat in silence until she finally said in an concerning voice:" That fraise normally means that a person should go out and live their life not stay in one place but, it doesn't sound like your mother ment that. Next time when you have this dream try to stay in it and stay calm, try to connect with her spirit to talk to her." Raven nodded and stood up, she gave aunt Rose a final hug:" I don't want to leave you." Aunt Rose laughed and said:" I'll always be here watching you, evan if you cant see me." Raven took a breath:" You be good and here's a tip, listen to the spirits that try to talk to you. Now sit, close your eyes and breath." Raven did as aunt Rose said but when she opened her eyes to say something, she found herself back in her body. Raven stood up and felt relieved. She stepped inside and found Ace:" Hey, Are you alright?" He asked worried and Raven smiled:" yea feeling a lot better. Aunt Rose is happy and save. I made contact with her and she filled me in on our father and how mother stopped a war." Ace felt relieved and calm after hearing this.

Raven, Ace, Ash, and Blake returned to America via flight. Upon their arrival in the late hours of the night, they entered their residence. Raven brewed a pot of coffee as Ash sat beside her at the kitchen table. Inquiring in a gentle tone, Raven asked, "Did the sight of blood unsettle you?" Ace met her gaze and, after a moment of contemplation, responded with a determined tone, "It did initially, but my priority was to provide support for you." Their eyes met, sparking a connection that caused Raven's heart to race with newfound emotions. Despite recognizing the dangers of their differing supernatural backgrounds - Ash a vampire and Raven a witch - she couldn't help but feel a growing attraction towards him.

Ash and Raven's conversation was interrupted by Blake's arrival, prompting Ash to excuse himself and retire to his room due to fatigue. Raven responded to Blake's intrusion with a pointed glare, to which he nonchalantly remarked, "What, are you still upset about the kiss?" Raven merely rolled her eyes in response, choosing to remain silent. A tense silence lingered until Blake broached a more somber topic, inquiring about Raven's emotional well-being and expressing condolences for her recent loss. At the mention of her deceased aunt, vivid flashbacks flooded Raven's mind, recalling the heartbreaking scene of her aunt's lifeless body amidst a pool of blood and the stark paleness of her skin. Anger welled up inside her, manifesting in clenched fists, but unexpectedly, tears began to trickle down her cheeks as she feebly insisted, "I'm fine, everything is fine." Sensing her inner turmoil, Blake softly spoke up, acknowledging his heightened senses as a wolf and gently calling out her facade of composure. Raven turned away, trying to shield her vulnerability, but Blake, understanding her need for comfort, rose from his seat and enveloped her in a comforting embrace, offering solace in his embrace.

Raven and Blake locked eyes, a silent intensity passing between them. Blake's gaze traveled from her eyes to her lips, igniting a spark of desire within Raven. She couldn't help but notice his striking features - his pure white hair and icy blue eyes. Memories flooded Raven's mind, recalling the heated moment they shared in the bathroom.

Sensing Raven's growing anticipation, Blake rose from his seat and approached her with a husky voice, noting her quickened pulse and uneven breath. As they stood face to face, mere inches apart, the air between them crackled with tension. Without hesitation, Blake pulled Raven closer, their lips meeting in a passionate kiss.

As they lost themselves in each other, Raven ran her fingers through Blake's hair, his tattoos dancing beneath her touch. Their embrace deepened, clothes discarded in a flurry of desire. Blake carried Raven to his bedroom, their bodies entwined in a fervent dance of passion.

With trembling anticipation, they explored each other with a hunger that burned brightly. Blake's touch ignited a symphony of moans from Raven, her body quivering with excitement. As they moved in unison, the intensity between them soared to new heights, culminating in a moment of pure ecstasy.

In the aftermath, as they lay entwined in each other's arms, a sense of fulfillment washed over them. Their connection transcended words, a shared moment of intimacy that bound them together in ways they could never have imagined.

The following morning, Raven awoke in the embrace of Blake, wrapped in the intimacy of his room. As the morning light filtered in, Blake greeted her with a husky "Good morning." Raven felt a flutter in her chest at the sound of his voice. They both rose to dress, a silent tension hanging in the air.

"So, what now?" Raven's voice held a note of uncertainty. Blake turned to face her, his gaze unreadable. "What do you mean ‘what now’?" he replied, his tone distant. Raven's heart clenched with realization. "I mean, after last night. What about us now?" she pressed, her voice tinged with vulnerability.

Blake's eyes held hers for a moment before he spoke, his words cutting through the air. "Us? There is no 'us.' Last night was enjoyable, but I don't do relationships, especially with witches." Raven felt a sharp pang in her chest, a mix of anger and hurt swirling within her.

"Nice. You're a real piece of work," she retorted, her voice tinged with bitterness. Without another word, Raven turned and walked out of the room, leaving behind a storm of conflicted emotions in her wake.

After Raven left Blake's room, he stood there, a wave of regret washing over him. He knew he had feelings for her, but something deep inside held him back from expressing them. Frustrated with himself, Blake's emotions boiled over, and he punched the wall in a fit of anger, the impact leaving his hand broken. Yet, the physical pain was nothing compared to the turmoil in his heart.

Meanwhile, Raven was in tears outside her door when Ash, a friend, noticed her distress and asked gently, "What's wrong?" Raven poured out the whole story, her voice trembling with emotion. Ash's protective instincts flared, and he stormed to the kitchen where Blake and Ace were sitting. Without a second thought, Ash grabbed Blake, pinning him against the wall and admonished him, "You're a messed up asshole. How could you treat her that way?"

Ace intervened, trying to calm the escalating tension, but Blake pushed back against Ash with a scoff, taunting him:" oh look at you little knight in shining armor." Enraged, Ash warned Blake, "Stay away from her, or I'll kill you" Blake's sarcastic response:"oh yea not the first time you said that so im still waiting." only fueled with anger, Ash lead to a physical altercation where he unleashed a barrage of punches on Blake until Ace stepped in, shouting for them to stop.

Raven watched in shock as the situation unfolded, her heart heavy with conflicting emotions. Blake, with blood streaking his face, seemed to revel in the chaos, taking a swig of whiskey straight from the bottle. With a chilling laugh, he made his way to the door, making eye contact with Raven before leaving, leaving an uneasy tension lingering in the room.
