chapter 6: The tragic loss

The next morning Ace was sitting in the kitchen with Blake and Ash when Raven came downstairs:" Good morning sunshine." Ash said handing her a cup of coffee. But when she saw Blake the air immediately tensed up. Raven went to Ashes side and sat next to him:" whats going on with you two?" Ace asked and Blake said sarcastically:" Oh nothing just an misunderstanding." He slipped his coffee:" Misunderstanding my ass." Raven said in a fit of Rage:" Are witches always so dramatic or are you just ons your blood month." Ace almost choked on his coffee as it came splashing out of is mouth and nose. Ash covered his mouth trying not to laugh:" First time witnessing a wolf and witch fighting." Ace said and Raven smiled:" Oh so that's what you are, no wonder i kept smelling a stink wet dog smell." By this time Ash finally broke and laughed. Blake wanted to say something else before Ace came in between and said:" Alright thats enough, if you two have a problem with each other talk it out at another time. Right now we have more important things to do. Raven were going to visit Aunt Rose a little." Raven immediately forgot about the anger and said:" Yes, I can't wait. I haven't heard from her since i moved here." Ace didn't want to sabotage Ravens happiness so he just nodded. After they all got on a plain Ash sat next to Raven, and in the two seats infront of them was Ace and Blake. Ace looked behind him to see Raven:" The reason why we're going to aunt Rose is to make sure she is okey, the neighbor called and said for the last 3 days she hasn't came out to water the plants." Raven immediately felt like her heart stopped upon hearing this. Through the whole flight she didn't speak or eat. After the flight landed they got a taxi and went straight to aunt Rose's house. Upon the arrival Raven felt uneasy, the air was thick and heavy. Everything was silent. Half of the plants were dead. Before going to the front door Ace pulled Raven aside:" I want to ask you to stay in the car until we know for sure that she is ...." Raven cut him off:" No. Im the one that left her alone so i want to know and see that's she's alright." Ace sighed and accepted but he went to Ash's side and whispered:" If we open that door and something is rong i want you to get Raven out of hear as fast as possible." Ash nodded and Ace stepped with an heavy heart towards the front door. Raven stood beside him, they glanced at eachother and Ace opened the door. An awful smell of death escaped the house and everyone covered their noses. Upon the sight Ace stepped back shocked. Raven went to look but she saw her aunt lying in old blood. Her skin was pale and stiff, her neck cut open. Raven covered her mouth as the tears started flowing, she felt dizzy and heavy. Raven took steps back and a scream of sadness and pain break lose. Ash quickly came to jer side as Ravens legs gave in. She felt as if her mother was taken from her all over again:" Ash now! Go!" Ace screamed with a broken voice and Ash took Ravan to the car. Before reaching the car Raven fell down to her knees holding her heart and breathing loudly:" No no no. Not again please not again." Her eyes blurred and her heart was beating out of her chest. She saw Ash was saying something but couldn't hear what it was. All she could think of is her aunt. Ash walked to Ravens side knowing that Raven is having a panick attack:" Hey Raven, look at me. Come on look at me. I need you to focus." Raven looked at Ash:" Breath slowly with me. Calm your heart. Im here with you." Raven got out of the panic attack and followed Ash to the car. They drove away to an hotel. Ash booked them in and Raven amediatly went to her bed.

Later that night Blake and Ash arrived at the hotel. Blake went to his room and Ace went straight to Raven and Ash:" Where is she?" Ace ask worriedly:" She's in her bed over there, she's been there sins we came here. I tried to give her food and something to eat but she's not respoding." Ace went to Raven's side. Raven sat up in her bed with swollen eyes:" Im so sorry, if i could've done something.....or if i knew this would...." his voice broke and tears escaped his eyes:" It's alright. We had no way of knowing or stopping it." Raven said in a soft voice crying . They gave each other a tight hug. After Acewent back to his room asking Ash to look after Raven. She still sat on her bed blankly staring infront of her. Ash sat beside Raven on the edge of the bes with water and food:" Are you ready to eat?" Raven looked at the food and went back to lying under the blankets. Ash sighed and said:" Please Raven, evan if it's only a little you have to eat and drink something. Im sorry about your auntvbut she died protecting you, she wouldn't want you to do this to yourself." Ash could hear Raven crying and sofly whispering:" Exactly, she died because of me, just like my mother." Ash put down the water and food on the counter, he went back to Raven and made sure she was tucked in and warm but at he tried to walke away she grabbed his hand. He smiled and climbed under the blankets with her. She held him close while crying. Ash stroked Raven's hair as she barried her face in his chest:" Don't worry, I'll always be here for you." After awhile they both fell asleep. Meanwhile Ace was in his room trying to find the person that did this. Blake came knocking and found Ace still awake:" Hey Ace, it's getting late you should get som rest." Ace shook his head:" Not until i found the bastert that did this." Blake sighed and pulled Ace away from the laptop, Blake hugged Ace and said:" I know gow you feel, but obsessing over it isn't gonna help you or your aunt to move on." Ace was silent for a moment and finally looked at Blake:" Thanks i needed that." Blake laughed and said:" Hey what's an right hand man for? By the way your sister is a tough and hard headed woman." Ace laughed out loud and said:" yea well she's like our mother i gauss. What did you do to piss her off?" Blake looked away and hesitated:" Come on we lnew each other since childhood, talk to me." Blake nervously laughed and said:" Well i came in a fight with a leopard when i turned last night and she helped me to clean the claw marks on my back. Long story short i kissed her than pulled back and said it was a mistake. I also said that i was bored. Let me tell you she didn't take that light." Ace smiled:" I should beat you up for doing that to my sister but I'll let it slide. Let me gauss you did it to see if she would recall her memory but she didn't and you got frustrated?" Blake nodded and they laughed. Blake went back to his room and climbed into bed. He started having flash backs of when he was young.

" Raven and Ace was playing in the trea and Blake was catching frogs. When suddenly Raven fell from the trea, Ace wasn't quick enough to catch her but just inches away from the ground Blake catched Raven:" Ray! You should be more careful you stuped." Raven sat up and said:" Don't call me a stuped you wet dog." Blake got mad and started tackling Raven, she decided to bite Blake on the arm and just at that moment Ravens mother came running towards them. She scolded Raven for bitting Blake on the arm. Raven was soad that she ran away into the woods. As she was running Raven fell into an whole deep in the ground. The cut her knee open but no matter how loud she screamed no one came. It started to get dark as nightfall came. Raven was cold and dehydrated. Meanwhile Blake and his father arrived at Raven's house asking her mother if they found her yet. Blake went outside and turned into a wolf, it was painful but he had no choice, he was worried about Raven. After he shifted into a wolf he snifed into the air and ran towards the woods where he saw her go in. With the rain it was almost in possible for wolfs to pick up a cent however Blake was different he heard Ravens heart slowing down and could smell she was bleeding. He quickly ran to her and jumped into the whole to retrieve her. Blake pulled Raven onto his back and started running, the storm was getting stronger but he pushed through it with his small form. After arriving at Raven's house her mother was so relieved by knowing she was save. Blake's father was impressed because not only was it his first successful time of turning, he did what no other wolf could've done." Blake sighed and fell asleep hoping that Raven would remember.

The next morning Ace woke up with a heavy heart. Today is the day of the funeral. He got up and put some clothes on. Meanwhile Ash made coffee for Raven and gently woke her up. She took the cup and drank the coffee on silance:" How you feeling?" Ash asked:" A little better. Still feels like a dream." Ash put his hand on Raven's shoulder and she smiled. After getting dressed in a Black dress Raven met Ace, Ash and Blake at the car. They arrived at the funeral. Alot of people was their but half of them Raven didn't even know. After the funeral Raven, Ash, Blake and Ace went back to aunt Rose's house the pack soem of the things. The house was left for Raven in aunt Rose's will. Around every corner in the house Raven remembered the memorys of her and aunt Rose. Raven decided to go to the back garden for fresh air. She sat down and remembered how Ash said she could connect with spirits:" Well it's worth a shot." She closed her eyes and listened to her surroundings, the calming sound of the birds and the wind. After awhile Raven sighed in disappointment but when she opened her eyes she found herself in a magnificent garden that went as far as the eyes could see. She looked bihond her and saw her body still sitting in the same position. Confused Raven looked around but suddenly heard a familiar voice:" The out of body experience, your getting good my little angel" raven looked up and saw her aunt standing infront of her. Only a gasp came to escape Ravens lips with a whisper:" Aunt Rose."
