Heather was now in the car driving in the main street, heading to the station.
" I guess there would be a day that we had to work alone."
She thought to herself when she stopped at a red light.
"I miss my baby. I would have been there so much faster and returned to Robert more quickly. "
This is how an owner of a motorcycle felt. Compared to her brand-new motorcycle, this shabby car was like a torture to drive.
"Where is the money going if not to upgrade the nessacary things?"
After a painfully boring ride, she finally reached the station. After she parked that - still talking about the car - she headed inside the building.
She walked at the front desk.
"Hello, I'm the captain of the station you reached out. You claimed you have information that could help us?"
" Oh, you must be Heather. Yes indeed we called you. You can go to the Chief's office, knock on the door. He was expecting an officer, not the Captain herself."
The officer smiled and then sat at her office. She seemed busy, so Heather didn't ask anything else.
The station wasn't as big as their, but it was quite spacious. Officers looked busy.
It seemed like they were the ones who had to work on the other crimes since Heather's station was solely working on the gangs for the time being.
"Hm... looks like the Chief's office."
She was in front of the door, and she knocked.
"You may come in."
"Good morning, sir. I'm Heather, Captain of-"
"Heather... Come inside and close the door behind you."
"Damn. Old man seems to be in a hurry. Guess they really are busy. If only you weren't a chief, i would have spoken."
She thought to herself when she closed the door.
"Alright... So, what is the so-called information that you have?"
After her question, he leaned to the side of his and opened a drawer. He took a file and placed it in front of her.
"There was a case that this guy popped up. He is dead now. You probably already have his case in your hands."
"Exactly, so what is your point right now. As you said, we do have the case."
"Did you find any tattoos, though? Was it the same as the other ones?"
He was asking as if he already knew the answer. Gang members had either a big tattoo or a letter with no color.
" It was different,"
"Exactly, Captain. It had color, you could tell that the gang is different, it has its own rules. As you saw, it was a black outline of the letter J and inside was filled with waves. "
There was silence in the room. It was clear that the chief had a piece of information that could help Heather and Robert.
Usually, they would look just for the tattoo. They didn't search for the meaning behind it.
What could this new tattoo mean? A "J" with waves. Was it a place? Did they like the design so much that they had to do it?
"Thank you Sir, have a good day."
She stood up and walked towards the door.
"Good luck, Captain. Remember, everything in a case has a meaning behind it. Any reactions, too."
She didn't say anything and closed the door.
"Why do i have to be surrounded by old farts. But he did have a point, damn it. Better talk it out with Robert, too. "
She also said goodbye to the lady of the front desk. She barely had time to do everything.
She went outside of the building and got inside the car. She didn't want to do this boring ride again.
She looked around the car and decided that it would be better to put some music on.
She pressed the button and the radio started playing.
"-morning for anyone that just joined. As always, we got the song request from our number one listener. We are now gonna play "Cruel Summer" by Taylor Swift." This is for J. Good day, everyone. "
She decided to listen to the song and started the car. Her return to the station wasn't so bad thanks to that, J.
"Thank god for the radio, the only good thing inside here. Again, with "J," though, the coincidences are increasing."
