Chapter 6

For a minute, she dozed off and opened her eyes, looking beside her. The sun was just rising, and the sunlight shone down on him.

His... beautiful bed head ? Turn into a fade brown while his blue eyes were crystal clear, and Heather could see her reflection in them.

"So beautiful..."

She muttered without realizing he could hear her.

At that moment, he had the softest smile on his face.

" Thank you, Heather, you are pretty too...well, sniffle, not as pretty as me, haha."

Even though they didn't have the best start, they definitely would have the best end, or so they thought?

It was about time that the little punks at her classroom would take action.

Jackson was alone walking down the hallway, wanting to get to know the place better.

Then, three girls popped in front of him. They were the usual mean girls that anyone would find at school.

"Hey... Jackie, how are you doing?" Olivia - a girl in the same class-said with the most hideous accent.

The only thing she got, though, was the silent treatment. He was obviously so bored while on the other hand the girl was flustered.

" A-anyway, you seem like you don't know, but that stupid deakmate of yours is actually an orphan, and you know -"

Jackson flinched not from shock but something else. He felt something new. Was it the need to protect her, or was it simple affection.

He glared at them, and it was like they saw the reaper himself. Well, he learned how to do it from his dad. Yep, he was a mafia leader. A conflict was happening between his gang and one more, so he sent Jackson away for his safety. He was the best dad even though he worked at the mafia.

" Look here, you little punk. Even if she is an orphan, she was raised much better than certain people."

And his look fell upon them.

"Pfttt. My name is Jackson, not Jackie. Keep that in mind. If you have one.... Pfft"

He walked fast until the next turn. Desperately holding back his laugh.

"Pfft hahaha, that was hilarious 0-1 miss deskmate wins."

Jackson then continued walking through the hallways with a smile across his face.

Right when he left... Heather got out underneath the stairs. It was spacious, so she hid there when she saw Jackson.

She was there the whole time, blusing like a girl in love. Holding her red hot cheecks confused.

"What the hell is wrong with him, and what's up with the miss thing we are the same age..."

This is how the past ends for now.

Heather was still dreaming, and she had a weak smile like she really liked what she was watching. Though she had forgotten all about her school and even Jackson.

Slowly, the scenery started fading, making all the people and the school - where everything was happening - disappear.

Everything went black, and Jackson started to dim.

"We will meet again, i swear i will find you after i leave. If fate wants us, we will meet... Maybe in different circumstances, but i will recognise you. Miss deskmate"

After hearing those words, Heather opened her eyes. She was holding in unshed tears, and all came out.

" How could i even forget him. Sniffle. The first person to ever stand up to me-maybe in secret - but i found out rather early. He didn't even have a chance telling all of it..."
