Jungkook stopped in the middle of the ballroom and turned his head, as if sensing something. His sharp eyes scanned the crowd, then lifted—directly toward the window where Taehyung was positioned.

For a moment, time seemed to freeze. Taehyung, utterly still, stared down the scope at the man who had somehow detected his presence. Jungkook’s gaze was penetrating, intense, and for the first time in Taehyung’s career, something like doubt flickered in his chest.

Taehyung’s heartbeat quickened, but he didn’t move. He was a professional, and this was just another target. His finger tightened on the trigger.
