Inside the mansion.
After receiving the news that Marcelo would return in the evening, Romina excitedly burst into the kitchen.
Looking at the servants who were preparing dinner, she said, "Tonight I will cook for Marcelo, you can all rest."
The servants stopped, as if they had just heard something incredible, they exchanged surprised glances while observing Romina.
It can't be! Has this woman gone mad? Is she planning to poison Marcelo?
Victoria, seeing how excited Romina was, said with some fear: "Miss, that... killing is a crime..."
Romina's smile immediately froze. With a nervous laugh, she tried to explain:
"Oh, Victoria! I just want to cook for Marcelo, nothing more. I've had a change of heart, he's been so good to me. How could I hurt him?"
"Before I was blind, but today, just today, I suddenly am not anymore!"
Victoria observed the seriousness on Romina's face and said no more, although somewhat incredulous, she warned her to call if she needed help while cooking.
Romina happily accepted and then closed the kitchen door, rejecting any help.
She entered the kitchen with enthusiasm, but seeing the abundance of ingredients, she felt lost. Although there were many, she barely knew how to cook a couple of things.
When she was a child, her mother used to take care of everything. Later, when she moved in with her grandmother, she also didn't let her near the kitchen, so she practically didn't know how to cook.
After observing for a few minutes, she chose some ingredients and began to research how to use them.
Romina spent a good while looking for recipes on her cell phone, but before she could start cooking, Marcelo arrived.
"And now what new trick is this?"
A cold voice echoed behind her. Romina turned around and saw him.
Seeing him, her heart clenched with pain. With tears in her eyes, she ran towards Marcelo.
"Marcelo, you're back!"
She threw herself into his arms, hugging him tightly and with no intention of letting go.
Marcelo, who had never seen Romina act like this, froze.
Feeling her so close, a spark of joy shone in his eyes, but it was soon replaced by disappointment.
"Romina, what game are you playing this time?" he said coldly, gently pushing her away.
"Now you're taking advantage of yourself too? Wow, what a skill!"
Seeing that Marcelo was pushing her away, Romina, distressed, hugged him again, aware of how much she had hurt him.
With a broken voice, she said: "No, Marcelo, it's not that..."
"I made mistakes, but now I just want to be with you."
Wasn't she the one who hated him, the one who wanted to run away from him? And now she was saying that she wanted to be by his side. Romina, how many tricks do you have!
"Romina, if you called me just to make fun of me, I assure you I won't come back. Stop trying to manipulate me."
His voice, cold, but with a trace of weariness.
Romina remained silent, trying to hold back her tears.
She looked him in the eyes. "No, I'm not making fun of you. Marcelo, I'm researching recipes to cook you something. Look!"
She showed him her cell phone, where there was a recipe for a revitalizing soup.
Marcelo, despite his anger, couldn't help but soften at seeing Romina's effort to please him.
"A revitalizing soup? Who is it for?" he asked, still with an icy tone, but now with a hint of tenderness.
"For you, of course. Go to the living room to rest for a moment, I'm almost done." Without giving him time to reply, Romina pushed him out of the kitchen.
Marcelo, disconcerted by Romina's sudden change of attitude, looked back, observing the ingredients on the table.
Although he didn't understand what she was planning, he decided to wait patiently in the living room.
But the wait became long, and while he waited, Marcelo couldn't help but suspect her sudden change. What if Romina had put something in the food?
Could it be because of Felipe? Would she dare to poison him?
However, he quickly dismissed that idea. Romina wasn't foolish enough not to understand the consequences of such an act.
That would not only not help Felipe, but it would destroy him completely.
Time passed slowly, and about fifteen minutes later, Romina came out with a pot of soup of unknown appearance. With a smile, she took his hand and led him to the table.
Marcelo noticed the bandages on her wrist and the small red marks on her hands, oil burns. Seeing her hurt again caused him a mixture of pain and frustration.
Every time she hurt herself, it was to escape him. Maybe he should let her go, although doing so would shatter him, it would be better than seeing her constantly hurting herself.
"What do you want?" Marcelo asked, slightly frowning.
"Huh?" Romina looked at him confused.
"Whatever, except leaving. I'll give you whatever you ask, but you don't need to cook or hurt yourself."
Marcelo spoke sadly.
Romina observed him, realizing that he had misunderstood the situation. She hurried to say: "I don't want anything, I just want you."
She got up and sat on Marcelo's lap, wrapping her arms around his neck, while a slight smile lit up her reddened face.
Marcelo, feeling her softness, swallowed hard. He didn't know where to put his hands and left them suspended in the air.
"What are you doing? A new trick?" Marcelo had never been so close to Romina.
"We are husband and wife, isn't this normal?" Romina rested her head on his shoulder and whispered in his ear.
"Husband and wife? When have you acknowledged that we are? Since the day you crossed this door, you have only wanted to run away from here."
Marcelo let out a bitter laugh.
"Yes, you're right, that was before. But now things have changed. I have reconsidered my actions, don't you think I can change?"
Romina whispered in his ear while her hand caressed his chest gently.
Marcelo, who had never experienced anything like this, began to blush, and even his ears became hot from the proximity.
"Do you know what you're doing? This... is very dangerous."
"Dangerous? What if I do this?"
