CHAPTER 2

Jeffrey was about to receive his final blow from David when a phenomenon transpired.

The sky suddenly lost its radiance and was replaced by dark thick clouds, rumblings were heard and the sun was nowhere in sight. David and Gary observed what was at play while every other person ran for safety.

GARY: "Hope this isn't what I'm thinking, Dave?"

DAVID: "The Chaos Force." David mumbled under his breath, sternly staring at the rumbling clouds.

Silhouetted against the expansive, crackling skies, three sorcerers defied gravity itself, their bodies suspended in an ethereal ballet. They were adorned in concealing black cloaks and their bodies were shrouded in smokes of menacing dark auras.

These weren't mere spellcasters; they were living conduits of arcane might.

David felt the weight of their power, a palpable force that instinctively got him on guard. By merely looking at them, he could discern their true nature.

(Tsk! High mage-level sorcerers? Even at a time like this? I never anticipated such reckless moves from the Chaos Force.) David's frustration etched vividly across his expression.

Given the fate of his victims the night before, he had anticipated the possibility of the Chaos Force sending more minions his way. However, he hadn't expected to directly confront three high mages just yet.

Still maintaining his focus on the three levitating sorcerers, David simply tossed Jeffrey's body aside before instructing Gary to help take everyone else to safety.

GARY: "What about you?" Gary asked worriedly.

DAVID: "No need to worry about me. I'd manage." David replied with a reassuring smirk that concealed his tension.

Gary's unease persisted even after David's reassurance. But eventually, he had to face the honest truth: there was nothing he could do for his friend at the moment. The best he could do was guide everyone to safety just as instructed.

Meanwhile, the triumvirate of suspended high-mage sorcerers gracefully descended toward the earth. The air pulsated with arcane energy as they narrowed the gap between them and David. Abruptly, one of them uttered a call that echoed through the mystical currents, reaching out to him with a haunting resonance.

SORCERER 2: "David Blaze, son of Zakael Blaze and the successor of the Blaze fortune...."

DAVID: "Yeah! Thanks for the hype, that's me. Now go straight to the point."

SORCERER 3: "Humph, how arrogant you are for a mere brawler of the saint realm's hierarchy. You dared to kill six of our low-tier brethren a night ago. Retribution awaits you." The third sorcerer unveiled a menacing scowl, pointing an accusing finger at David.

DAVID: "So this was the best Modred could do? Sending more minions to die in his stead!?" David responded with a sneer.

SORCERER 1: "No jokes, kid! Surrender the Map of hidden Mysteries and beg that you die a painless death."

DAVID: "I'd advise that you worry more about yourselves. You three won't be enough to stop me,"

SORCERER 1: "It's obvious you've been sharp-tongued by fear. We'd happily end your misery."

The three sorcerers chorused arcane incantations, channeling their mystic powers into the gathering storm clouds. Sensing the imminent danger, David swiftly snapped into a heightened state of alertness, igniting his brawler flames with precision and assuming a resolute defensive stance.

Even in the face of overwhelming odds, he did not relent.

He was determined to face the challenge as a litmus test. Moreover, he still had his divine trump card. He already had an idea on how and when he intended to employ it.

SORCERER 3: "[Scoffs in disdain.] Hah! You dare to confront us with that useless flame? You really overestimate yourself. You will taste no victory,"

In unison, the sorcerers unleashed their spell - "Arcane Art: Lightning Bolt!" - sending streams of crackling energy crashing down onto the grounds of Beacon Seed Academy, all aimed at David.

The school's electric poles and appliances hummed with life, amplifying the bolts that now danced wildly toward him.

David's frustration flared as he realized the danger to the academy's inhabitants. He had little time. Every second he delayed could mean disaster. His muscles tensed, and with quick reflexes, he darted away, narrowly avoiding the searing arcs of lightning that twisted through the air in pursuit.

Scanning the scene, David formulated a plan. If he could disrupt the sorcerers' levitation, he could ground them, stripping their aerial advantage. He vaulted over the academy's iron fence with fluid agility, leading the storm of energy away from the frightened students and staff. He knew he was the target - and he'd keep it that way.

Amid the chaos, a bolt struck a nearby school vehicle, sending it spiraling into a gravity-defying somersault toward David. In the split second before impact, he saw his chance.

With precision and daring, David leapt onto the tumbling wreck, using its violent momentum as a platform. In a burst of agility, he launched himself toward the airborne sorcerers, cutting through the air like a missile.

The sorcerers, caught off-guard by this audacious move, scrambled to evade. But one reacted too slowly. David seized him mid-flight, yanking the spell-caster down toward the earth in a spiraling descent.

The remaining two sorcerers, shaken by the sudden shift in their favor, swiftly retreated to safer positions, reassessing the battle that had just turned on its head.

As David and his captive plunged toward the ground, the weight of the impact loomed, with David pinning the struggling sorcerer beneath him. The air crackled with rising tension, a lightning bolt arcing menacingly toward them both.

But David acted quickly.

In a fluid motion, he rolled off the fallen sorcerer, leaving his disoriented adversary exposed to the oncoming bolt.

"AAAAARGH!!" The sorcerer's scream tore through the air as the lightning struck, ravaging his body in a violent burst of energy, the sound echoing with a deafening roar.

David, unphased, cast aside the smoking, defeated sorcerer. His gaze snapped to the two remaining enemies hovering above. With a fierce intensity, his eyes flared a vivid yellow, and in an instant, he unleashed the 'Ultra Flame Beam.'

A brilliant torrent of fire erupted from his eyes, racing toward the retreating figures, the searing heat cutting through the stormy sky.

Relying purely on raw flame, David's fiery beam lacked the force to obliterate the magical adversaries it targeted. The magical shields of the two remaining sorcerers easily deflected the searing attack, dispersing the flames into harmless sparks.

Witnessing their comrade's demise, the surviving sorcerers were consumed by fury. David's unyielding resilience infuriated them. This kid wasn't bluffing after all!

Seething, they intoned another mystical phrase, invoking the potent 'Arcane Art: Object Control.'

What followed was a breathtaking display of chaos. All around the academy grounds, vehicles, debris, and various objects began to rise, swirling around the sorcerers in a furious cyclone. A tempest of magic enveloped them, casting an ominous, ethereal glow.

Suddenly, the entire mass of metallic destruction hurtled toward David. Cars, benches, and shattered debris converged on him from every angle, each with deadly intent. Forced into a state of constant evasion, David leapt and spun with supernatural agility, barely keeping ahead of the magical onslaught as objects slammed into the ground around him.

As David evaded, the first sorcerer prepared a sneak attack, summoning a crackling bolt of lightning and aiming it directly at him while his focus was elsewhere.

But David's instincts flared. He felt the threat closing in and quickly scanned his surroundings. Spotting a wrecked vehicle to his right, he moved swiftly, tearing off its front door with a burst of strength. In an instant, he hoisted the door as an improvised shield, bracing for impact.

The lightning struck with blinding force.

The door exploded into a shower of molten metal and sparks, shattering into a thousand glimmering shards. The sheer power of the blast sent David flying, his body twisting through the air. For a brief moment, his silhouette flickered against the cascade of shimmering debris.

Then, with bone-rattling force, he slammed into the academy's solid wooden doors, the sound of the impact reverberating across the grounds. The force of the collision left an eerie silence in its wake, broken only by the faint crackle of lingering magical energy.

SORCERER 1: "Hah! You were quite something but I bet you didn't see that coming brat, did you? Now the Map of Mysteries and your severed head would be ours to take." The first sorcerer bragged as he soared down, his laughter echoing the sound of impending triumph.

However, David's haunting voice suddenly responded from the wrecked building upon which he had crashed.

DAVID: "I would not boast of victory prematurely," he said, his acquired bruises gradually mending on their own.

The two sorcerers froze, their expressions darkening as David's resilient figure emerged from the wreckage. Their frustration mounted, and with agitated fury, they began chanting in infernal tongues.

A massive blast of magical flames erupted from their hands, roaring toward David with relentless force.

David stood firm, his heart steady. (It's time,) he thought inwardly, a quiet resolve settling over him.

As the searing flames raced closer, his body suddenly radiated with a brilliant white light. Seven cross-like symbols began to revolve gently around him, and in his palms, twin holy flames ignited, blazing with an ethereal glow.

David had awakened his Spirit Mode, the element of surprise now in full display. His power surged, the calm in his eyes betraying the storm about to be unleashed. He was ready to end the battle once and for all.

Startled by David's sudden transformation, the sorcerers panicked. In desperation, they poured even more magical energy into their attacks, unleashing a relentless barrage of destructive power.

But the spinning cross symbols of David's Spirit Mode whirled into action, accelerating their rotation around him at an unpredictable pace. They formed a shimmering dome-like shield, effortlessly absorbing and nullifying the incoming magic.

David, now fully attuned to his divine power, decided it was time to strike back. He summoned the full force of his Spirit Mode, channeling it through his gaze. From his eyes erupted a searing beam of fire, no longer just raw flame, but a sanctified, divine force. The holy flames surged forward with unstoppable intensity, cutting through the air like a lance of light.

This was no ordinary attack - it was a weapon of divine retribution, powerful enough to obliterate even the two high-level sorcerers still standing.

The sorcerers, realizing they couldn't escape the incoming beam, hastily raised their magical shields in a desperate attempt to block the attack.

But their defenses crumbled almost instantly.

The Ultra Flame Beam tore through their mystical barriers like a scorching blade, effortlessly cutting them apart. Their bodies were split as though made of fragile paper, and within moments, they were consumed by the holy fire, their remains swallowed in a blaze of divine flames. The searing heat left nothing but ash in its wake, as their final cries faded into oblivion.

As the echoes of battle died into silence, David dropped abruptly to one knee, exhaustion evident in his posture. The toll of his Spirit Mode was undeniable, leaving him drained and weary. The once-radiant cross symbols that had protected him now quietly dispersed, and the glowing white light in his eyes dimmed, returning to their familiar gray hues.

(It's come to this... No more hesitation.) David's thoughts darkened, a subtle scowl forming on his tired face. His ragged breath permeated the air as his mind turned to the remaining sorcerers of the Chaos Force. He knew his battle was far from over.

Though worn, his resolve remained unshaken. He stood once more, ready to continue his relentless quest for vengeance. His enemies - the Chaos Force, the Netherworld, and above all, his treacherous uncle, Mako Blaze - were now tied to his soul as targets. They had slaughtered his beloved family, and for that, he would stop at nothing to hunt them down.
