The team stood in silence, their hearts heavy with the loss of Juan. The dense jungle around them seemed to mirror their grief, its thick canopy casting shadows that felt darker than before. Juan had been the heart of their mission, the one who never wavered, and now, without him, they felt as though they had lost their compass.
Jack was the first to break the silence. His voice was hoarse, but resolute. “We can’t give up now,” he said, scanning the weary faces of his teammates. “Juan died for this mission. We owe it to him to finish what we started.”
Maria sniffled, her eyes red from crying. She nodded slowly, wiping away a stray tear that slid down her cheek. “You’re right, Jack,” she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper. “We continue for Juan. He wouldn't want us to stop.”
One by one, the others nodded in agreement. Juan’s death had shaken them to their core, but they knew he wouldn’t have wanted them to abandon the mission. Their determination renewed, the team pressed forward, their eyes now fixed on the path ahead.

As they trekked deeper into the heart of the jungle, the air grew humid, and the terrain became more treacherous. Vines hung like curtains from towering trees, and the constant buzz of insects filled the air. Maria walked a few paces behind the others, her eyes glued to Pizarro’s ancient leather-bound journal. The pages were worn and yellowed, but the faint, spidery script was still legible.
“I’ve found something,” she exclaimed suddenly, causing the others to halt in their tracks.
Alex, always curious, was the first to step over. “What is it?” he asked, peering over her shoulder.
Maria’s brow furrowed in concentration as she traced her finger over the symbols on the page. “There’s a hidden code here,” she said, her voice tinged with excitement. “I’m sure of it.”
“A code?” Jack asked, coming closer. “What kind of code?”
“It’s a riddle,” Maria replied, her eyes brightening as the pieces began to fall into place. “It’s leading us to the entrance of El Dorado.”
The team huddled around her, their earlier exhaustion momentarily forgotten. They had been searching for weeks, hoping that Pizarro’s journal would provide the key to finding the legendary city of gold. And now, it seemed, they were finally on the right track.
Over the next hour, they worked together to decipher the code, piecing together the clues that would lead them to the hidden entrance. The riddle was intricate, full of references to the sun, the stars, and ancient Incan symbols. But, with Juan’s memory spurring them on, they cracked it.

After hours of trekking through the dense jungle, the team finally stumbled upon what they had been searching for—a hidden entrance, concealed by overgrown vines and thick moss. It was so well hidden that they could have easily missed it, but thanks to Pizarro’s riddle, they knew exactly what to look for.
“El Dorado,” Jack breathed, his voice filled with awe.
They stared at the entrance in disbelief. It was a large stone archway, weathered by time but still standing tall. Symbols adorned the stone, some of which matched the ones in Pizarro’s journal. The air around them felt different, charged with the weight of history and the promise of untold riches.
“Let’s go,” Maria whispered, her heart pounding in her chest.
One by one, they stepped through the archway and into the darkness beyond. What awaited them was an ancient tunnel, its walls lined with carvings and murals depicting scenes from Incan mythology. The air inside was cool and musty, a stark contrast to the oppressive heat of the jungle outside.

As they made their way deeper into the tunnel, it became clear that the path to El Dorado was not going to be easy. Deadly traps and intricate puzzles lay in wait, designed to keep intruders out.
“We need to move carefully,” Alex warned, his voice tense. “One wrong move and this place could become our tomb.”
The first trap was a pressure-sensitive floor, hidden beneath a layer of dust. Jack nearly stepped on it, but Maria’s sharp eyes spotted it just in time. They carefully navigated around it, their nerves on edge.
The puzzles were even more challenging. One involved aligning ancient stone disks to match a pattern in Pizarro’s journal, while another required them to solve a complex riddle inscribed on the wall. But, working together, they managed to overcome each obstacle.
“We’re close,” Maria said, her voice tinged with both excitement and exhaustion.

Finally, after what felt like hours of navigating the treacherous tunnel, they reached a massive stone door. With a final push, the team heaved it open, revealing a breathtaking sight on the other side—the Chamber of the Sun God.
The room was vast, its walls covered in shimmering gold. Statues of Incan gods and goddesses stood tall, their eyes made of precious gems that sparkled in the dim light. And there, in the center of the room, was the legendary treasure they had been searching for—El Dorado’s riches.
“Gold,” Maria gasped, her eyes wide with disbelief. “So much gold.”
The team stood in awe, their earlier grief and exhaustion momentarily forgotten in the face of such unimaginable wealth.
But their excitement was short-lived.

From the shadows, a group of men emerged, their faces twisted in sneers. The leader of the group, a man Maria recognized as one of Ryder Corporation’s top mercenaries, stepped forward, a gun in hand.
“You really thought you could get to El Dorado without us finding out?” he sneered. “You’ll never leave this place alive.”
Jack’s hand instinctively went to his weapon, but the team was outnumbered. Ryder’s men were armed to the teeth, and there was no way they could win in a straight fight.
The team exchanged nervous glances, preparing for what was sure to be a fight for their lives.
