Hidden Secrets

Upon getting into the company Luke noticed that more than half the personnel working here were new faces he hadn't seen before, it seems Andrew really wanted the company for himself.

Standing in front of the receptionist table, a cute looking girl in her twenties, who tied her hair up in a bun, was seating chatting on her phone, she didn't notice the presence of Luke in front of her till Luke made a "cough" sound to get her attention, at first she looked up with disdain and frustration untill her eyes got the full view of Luke in front of her, the previous disdain disappeared without a trace replaced with a coquettish and a warm smile which was directed towards Luke with an inexplicable meaning in her eyes, she was practically giving him a flirtatious look and giving a green light,

_ooh shit is my charm that amazing, one look and she's tripping_

Luke stretched out his hand towards the receptionist with a charming smile on his face "hi, I am Luke Mayweather,.....are you new here...."

It was then the receptionist fully realized the identity of the one who was in front of her, she had seen his picture before, her body trembled in shock slightly.

_Oh my God I just tried to hit on the Late Boss son, shit, he will practically be my Employer by next year_

The receptionist forced a smile to hide her nervousness "Yes I am new here, Mr Mayweather..."

Luke faked a depressed expression as he said "Do I really look that old, why did you call me Mr Mayweather....." Luke paused as he looked at her name tag "Miss Gabriella"

The receptionist face flushed slightly in shame and hurriedly said "no...no...no... you are not sir , ummm you are actually good-looking" her voice became like that of a mosquito at the end of the sentence

Luke grinned wildly as his plan was working, he intends to tease the receptionist to let her guard down while he tries to extract information from her and to make her give him access to the top floor because she appears to be those shy types

"oooh, am good looking, I never thought of it that way, to be honest you are quite stunning Miss Gabriella " Luke teased her as he grabbed her hand, which made her face bright red like a tomato,

"so tell me who introduced our Miss stunning into the company"

Lost in the compliments and intimate contact, the receptionist answered without reservation while blushing "it was Mr Andrew that brought me here ", upon hearing this Luke confirmed hundred percent that Andrew was indeed plotting something because the former receptionist was a young lady whom his Father brought into the company because she was an orphan so he gave her a job to ensure she made a living, her whole life was indebted to his Father, it seems Andrew was plowing the grasses from the roots

"ooh really Mr Andrew, are you related to him" Luke exclaimed

The receptionist nodded shyly with her head bent slightly "ummm yh Mr Andrew is actually my uncle"

This really came as a shock to Luke, now it all makes sense, as her uncle, she probably has no choice but to report the identity of those that came to the company, she can serve as his eyes and ears in the lower section of the company

"that's cool, so Gabriella, work well, make your uncle proud ok, but wait is your uncle around" Luke said scanning the area suspiciously

"ooh no the Manager isn't around, he hasn't been in the company for about a week, but I can call him for you..."

"there's no need for that, so please could you grant me access to my dad's office" Luke smiled warmly

It was then the receptionist realized the reason why he came, "ooh sorry but I have to report to the manager in order to grant access...."

\_shit, I can't make her call him\_

"Come one, Gabriella, why would you be disturbing your uncle for such matters, I just came to get financial textbooks book from my Dad's office, I will go and come back in a jiffy" Luke flashed a warm smile at her while playing with her fingers in a flirtatious manner

Blushing slightly, she removed a key card from her drawer and passed it to Luke "This is the pass required to get to the top floor, but you have five minutes to enter, I don't want the higher-ups to find out"

\_woah, is it still my charm,or is it that she's so gullible or my pick up skills are top-notch

Luke collected the card and turned in an attempt to go to the lift but he came to a stop, before turning to her and asked "can I get your number"

\_OMG, the Boss son is asking for my number, this is the best chance to get close to him before he takes the CEO position\_

\_it is just like in those romance novels, the CEO takes notice of his female employer and a love story starts\_

"cough\_ cough\_" Luke coughed little to pull her away from her fantasies, but this action of his made her blush even more, her face was bright red like an apple

"um of it's 1078........"

"ok thanks, I will see you around " Luke smiled as he took the cup of latte on the receptionist desk as he winked at her before he entered the lift

When the elevator door opened, Luke was shocked to see the other stern guard that was just outside with Francis, The guard nodded towards Luke and left the elevator leaving a flustered Luke who walked in with a lot of questions in his mind before clicking on the button to the top floor.

\_Wasn't he just outside now how did he get into the lift and judging from the floor he just came from, it's highly likely he has gone to report my interactions with Francis to the ones behind the scene, it seems Francis was right after all\_

\_it appears I have to find a way to avoid the security camera when I am in my dad's office\_

Ding

The elevator door opened and Luke stepped out with a jovial expression making it seem like he was really here to just mess around, with a delighted expression he walked into his Father's office with the key card passed onto him by the receptionist, On entry Luke's card fell off his hand by "mistake" and he bent down to pick it up, then as he slowly stood up he made sure he took note of the positions of the security camera in the room, as he couldn't just walk in and start looking around to see the cameras in place which would make it obvious that he had an ulterior motive for coming.

\_sure enough, there are two extra cameras, one under the vase in my dad's desk and the other in my dad's bookshelf\_

After getting a brief look at the security camera positioning, Luke also noticed that all of his pictures that his father had placed all around his office were gone, which was quite weird, because he knew his Father would never do anything without a reason, Luke looked around stylishly while walking towards his Father's desk until he noticed that on his Father's nameplate on his desk, something else was written on it, which had never been there before ever since the nameplate had been in the office, it was a quote saying

"Blue is the end and the beginning, L.V."

This made Luke think, because he has never seen such a quote written by a person named L.V, in order to prevent suspicion regarding the nameplate, he only took a glance at the nameplate for a moment because he couldn't stare for too long as there were extra eyes watching over his every actions in this room, he then remembered his Father's words on the phone on the day he died, now that he thought of it, his Father seemed on the edge during the phone call

\_ hey kiddo listen... and listen carefully, ensure you understand what I am trying to tell you, three and three..., Do not forget, the answer lies in three and three.....(line cuts) \_

In that night Luke never really thought of it but now it seems his Father was trying to tell him information, especially that listen part, then there was a light bulb in Luke's head

\_Yes the quote "Blue is the end and the beginning" , are numbers or rather the volume of Dad's favorite novel, Atlantic, by Luis Venta, hence the L.V. while the blue stands for the ocean, the Atlantic\_

Luke then walked over to the bookshelf searching for the Atlantic novel by Luis Venta, when he spotted it he didn't immediately take it out, instead he continued browsing for other books in their different sections on the bookshelf attached to the wall to make his excuse for being in search financial textbooks look real, afterwards he removed about two financial textbooks and placed it into his bag, then he opened the last volume Atlantic novel by L.V. (signifying "end" part of the quote) when he browsed through the the novel he noticed the 22nd page was folded a little, then after screening through the book he kept it in his bag, then took out the first volume of the Atlantic novel (signifying the "beginning" part) and where he also noticed the 11th page was also folded, he then came to the realization that, those numbers were probably a passcode .

But as for what the passcode was for, he wasn't sure, because his Father doesn't have a safe in his office

\_why do I feel like I am missing something important.......if the numbers 22 11 are passcodes then what were the three and three Father kept talking about...... three and three....hmmm....three and three.... wait they are actually like dimensions\_

Luke stared at the bookshelf for a long time before clicking his tongue in realization

\_three and three, means three movements horizontally and three movements vertically, it's a position of at the middle section on the bookshelf\_

After his sudden realization, he still continued to search for books for about two minutes, then Luke came to the edge of the section of the bookshelf and picked a book from it, then he placed the cup of latte he got from the receptionist inside the section where the hidden security camera was, he spent about two minutes browsing through the book.

When he was done he returned the book back into the section, just then his hand tripped the cup of latte he dropped in the bookshelf causing it to fall and splash it's contents, which landed directly on the hidden security camera, causing it to malfunction as the liquid got into its electrical parts

He did this because there was a high probability that the hidden camera would be able to get a glimpse of what he doing in the middle section, After his deed, Luke raged through the books in the middle section till he notice that the wall at the end of the section gave a hollow sound and felt like wood instead of concrete when his hand came in contact with it, which meant there was an hidden compartment within the section

Luke then opened the hidden compartment and saw a mini-sized safe within it

\_it appears I was right, those page numbers are the passcode to this safe, but what could make Father go through a lot of pain to keep it hidden\_

When he inserted the passcode 22-11 the safe opened with a click sound, he hurriedly removed the contents in the safe, which was a small box and a folder, Luke then placed the folder and the box in between a book he got from the section, placing the book into his bag, Luke ensured he closed the hidden compartment and left it as it was, in order make it hard for anyone to notice that there was an hidden compartment in this section, Luke arranged the books in this section in a manner to fully cover the wall behind it, then he left his Father's office.
