WILL THIS NIGHT BRING LIGHT IN YING'S LIFE

The Next Day Arrived

Author's POV:

The sun peeked through Ni Ying's window as she woke up, and a flutter of excitement stirred in her stomach. It was a new day, but all she could think about was Zeipher. She felt a strange longing to talk to him, a feeling that had been absent for a long time. The problem was that her phone was locked away at school, and the thought of not being able to text him made her anxious.

As the day dragged on, her mind wandered to him. She couldn’t help but smile at the memory of their last conversation. Why did she feel this way about him? With each passing hour, she grew more restless.

Finally, when school was over, she raced home. As soon as she got through the door, she hurried to her room, changed out of her school uniform, and put on her favorite comfortable clothes. Then, she grabbed her phone from the table.

Her heart skipped a beat when she unlocked it and saw a message from Zeipher.

Ni Ying’s POV:

Seeing his name on my screen made me feel giddy. I couldn't believe how excited I was to hear from him. What was it about Zeipher that pulled me in? I took a deep breath, feeling butterflies in my stomach, and opened the chat.

“Hey! I was dying to talk to you today. How was your day?” I typed quickly, my fingers moving faster than my thoughts.

When I hit send, I felt a rush of happiness. Talking to him was different—refreshing. I was impressed by the way he communicated. He didn’t just send short replies; he took time to engage and ask questions.

Zeipher’s POV:

I had been busy all day, but as soon as I checked my phone, I saw a message from Ying. I felt a smile spread across my face. Her energy was contagious, and I liked how she reached out to me.

“Hey! Sorry for the late reply. Got caught up with some stuff,” I messaged back. I hoped she wouldn’t be too upset.

A few moments later, her reply came in, and I felt a little anxious reading it.

“Did I say something about it???” she asked, her words sounding slightly harsh.

I furrowed my brow, unsure of her mood. Did she seem upset?

Author's POV:

There was a moment of silence before Zeipher responded, and he hesitated to ask if everything was okay. He didn’t want to come off as annoying. But before he could ask, she cleared the air.

“No, no! I just said it anyway,” she wrote, her playful tone returning. I could feel the tension lift, and I was relieved.

They continued talking, and the warmth between them was palpable. With each message, their conversation grew sweeter, full of laughter and teasing. Ni Ying found herself getting lost in their exchange, forgetting everything around her.

Ni Ying’s POV:

I couldn't help but smile as we chatted. It felt so easy with Zeipher. We talked about our day, and I found myself sharing things I usually kept to myself. I was surprised by how much we had in common.

Then, Zeipher dropped a surprising confession. “I have to warn you, I’m kind of kiss addicted and a bit over-possessive,” he typed, and I felt my cheeks heat up.

I never expected him to say that. Part of me felt nervous, but another part was intrigued. “I love over-possessive!” I typed back, my heart racing at my own boldness.

Zeipher’s POV:

Her response took me by surprise. I didn’t expect her to like that part of me. “Really? Most girls run away from that,” I replied, my curiosity piqued.

“I think it shows you care,” she said, and I could feel my heart race. There was something about her that made me want to share more, to let her see who I really was.

Author's POV:

As they continued to chat, it felt like time slipped away. The world outside their screens faded into the background as they got lost in their conversation. Their connection grew deeper with each shared thought, and both of them felt a sense of warmth they hadn’t experienced in a long time.

But beneath the surface of their sweet words, doubts lingered in both of their hearts. Ni Ying wondered if she could ever fully trust him, and Zeipher couldn’t shake off his past experiences with girls.

Ni Ying’s POV:

Every message from Zeipher made me smile. I felt a connection with him that I hadn’t felt with anyone else in a long time. But a small voice in my head warned me. Was I getting too close too soon?

Zeipher’s POV:

Talking to Ying felt different. I found myself opening up more than I usually did. I wanted to know more about her, to find out what made her tick. But at the back of my mind, I reminded myself of my past, how girls could be. I didn’t want to get hurt again, but it was hard to ignore what I felt for her.

Author's POV:

As the evening wore on, their conversation continued, full of laughter and teasing, both of them still uncertain about what lay ahead. The spark between them was undeniable, but would it be enough to break down the walls they had built around their hearts?

Neither of them had the answer yet, but they both felt the thrill of something new, something worth exploring. The night was still young, and their chatting was far from over.
