"This is impossible!"

"Are you infertile?"

Rayner's ears continued to ring with those words after a doctor declared him infertile based solely on a medical examination report.

A year of marriage to Mariska had not yet produced offspring. It wasn't that Rayner or Mariska didn't want to get their health checked, it was just that their busy schedules left them with no free time. "That easy for you to leave me in my most difficult time, Ris? Where is your heart, huh?!" Rayner snapped in a voice that boomed down the hospital corridor, causing several people passing by to stop and whisper.

"It's not like that, honey, but-"

"But what, Ris? Is it because of Mom?" Rayner guessed, raising an eyebrow.

"Yes, honey. Mom keeps pushing me to get pregnant soon. But after hearing the doctor's explanation, I feel like you won't be able to make me pregnant," she said without feeling guilty.

Rayner smiled bitterly hearing that, his heart really hurt when his beloved wife actually said that. Instead of trying to find a solution together, his wife actually asked for a separation from him.

"Are you sure about this request, Ris?" Once again, Rayner asked his wife.

"Yes, honey. Divorce me now, honey," said Mariska firmly.

"Alright, if that's what you want, starting today, I, Rayner Morrigan, in my full consciousness, divorce you, Mariska Sofia, and starting today, you are no longer my wife!" Rayner said in a loud and firm voice. His eagle eyes stared coldly into Mariska's pair of jet-black eyes.

"I'm sorry, honey," said Mariska, bowing her head.

Rayner remained silent, ignoring Mariska's apology. He chose to walk away from the woman who was now officially his ex-wife.

Mariska just watched her ex-husband walk away without intending to follow him.

Suddenly, a well-built man approached her and patted her shoulder gently, saying something.

"What you did was right, Ris. Forget Rayner and come live with me. I will give you offspring from my seed," said the man.

Mariska turned to look at the man with teary eyes.

"But I love him, Dav..." said Mariska.

"Just because you love him, you can't kill the hopes of your parents who are expecting a successor born from your womb, Ris," said the man whom Mariska called Dav.

"Why Dav, why did my parents choose you as a replacement for Rayner's seed? You two are best friends, I can't bear to ruin your friendship," said Mariska, sobbing with tears streaming down her smooth cheeks.

"It's all destiny, Ris, no one can blame it," David immediately pulled Mariska into his arms, he gently rubbed the back of the woman who was shaking with tears.

In the car, Rayner gripped the steering wheel tightly and slammed it hard.

"Arghh, damn it! That easy for you to end our marriage just because I'm infertile, Ris?! Where's your promise that you would never leave me in my most difficult time?!" Rayner shouted like a madman.

Rayner quickly started his car engine and started driving at high speed. This time the destination was a club, he needed an outlet so that the tightness in his heart could be channeled a little.

Mariska's words kept spinning in Rayner's head, as if indoctrinating him to realize that he couldn't possibly have children. Rayner continued to gulp down the alcoholic beverage until it was finished, after which he asked the bartender for it again.

In total, Rayner had finished 5 bottles to relieve the tightness in his chest, but all of that couldn't make him forget Mariska's words and the examination results from the old doctor.

Rayner, who was already very drunk, immediately got up from his seat, approached the group of young women and pulled one of them.

"You have to prove it yourself, Ris, if I can get you pregnant," said Rayner, who thought the young woman he was dragging was Mariska, his ex-wife.

The woman was shocked and immediately fought back when her wrist was gripped tightly and her body was dragged by Rayner.

"Let me go! Who are you?!" shouted the woman, hitting Rayner's hand to get the man to let her go. The lack of lighting made it impossible for the young woman to see clearly the face of the man who was dragging her.

"Shut up, Ris! You must receive the punishment you deserve for asking for a divorce from me!" snapped Rayner, then immediately lifted the young woman over his shoulder.
