Once settled in the packhouse, the alphas go to the office to discuss pack matters while the Lunas talk about how things have improved.
"Luna Marion, I'm so excited; tomorrow I'll finally be Luna. What advice do you have for me?" Sandra says.
Marion looks at her; there's something she doesn't like about this young woman. "Well, you must listen to the needs of all the pack members. As Luna, you must be kind and charitable."
"I understand. I've been told that you assumed the role when you were 200 years old, that you're a chosen Luna," Sandra says.
All eyes turn to Sandra and her comment. Marion remains calm, taking a sip of her tea. "That's right; I am a chosen Luna, and I have maintained strong and good leadership with Dereck. Little one, you must be attentive to the needs of your pack, not the gossip."
Sandra turns red with embarrassment as everyone in the room stares at her.
"You say that because you're a chosen Luna," says a young woman's voice.
Marion gives a slight, mocking smile. "And who are you?"
"Excuse me, Luna, I'm Safira, Alpha Donovan's daughter. Please excuse my sister-in-law's rudeness; my brother had terrible taste in rejecting his mate for her," Safira says.
"Honey, we've already talked about this," Viviana says.
"Mom, I'm going to stay at Yesabel's house today," Safira says.
"Yesabel is in the pack?" Sandra asks.
"Yes, what did you expect? Her brother will be the next Delta, and he's my mate. You'll be seeing her very often," Safira laughs, leaving the packhouse.
"Excuse my daughter," Viviana says.
"Don't worry, Luna Viviana, my granddaughter Calista is the same, very impulsive," says Marion.
Sandra is nervous and can't help but feel everyone's gaze. Loki, Taylor's wolf, had not accepted the rejection, so the bond had not been definitively broken, although she is now pregnant, the wolf has not appeared.
Taylor had only been able to shift twice in these ten years. Now that Yesabel was back in the pack, it was going to be a big problem for her.
Marion notices the young Luna's nervousness and senses trouble, but she will leave everything in the hands of the goddess or fate.
A car pulls up to one of the pack houses, and four people get out. A beautiful brown wolf throws herself on Ivan, licking his face.
"Ilia, I'm so happy to see you again, beautiful," Ivan says, hugging the wolf.
"Sister-in-law, you look so beautiful," Yesabel says.
Ilia returns control to Safira, who is covered by a blanket that Mildred conjured.
"Thank you," Safira says.
"Come on in," Mildred says.
They all enter the beautiful cabin, happy to be home again. Yesabel goes up to her old room with her suitcase, along with Safira.
"I'm going to have to borrow some clothes," Safira says.
"Here," says Yesabel.
"I missed you, friend," Safira says.
"I missed you too. How are your classes going?" Yesabel says.
"I'm a kindergarten teacher. I love children. It's going well, but it was hard being away from Ivan these past ten years," Safira says.
"I can imagine, but now you'll have him all to yourself, and I want lots of nephews," Yesabel says.
Yesabel walks over to the window and looks at the big full moon illuminating everything. She can see Taylor with a small child in her arms and Sandra by her side. It was a vision; she had the gift of seeing the future, not about herself, although she did not do it, as she never liked that gift.
"Friend, are you okay?" Safira asks.
"Yes, I'm going for a walk," Yesabel replies.
Yesabel leaves her cabin and goes to the waterfall. She is not the only one who has gone for a walk. Marion and Alejo are also at the waterfall when they see a young woman sit down, and suddenly a large black wolf beside her.
"Hello, Loki, long time no see," Yesabel greets.
"Hello, Yesabel, beautiful. Can you forgive?" the wolf asks.
"Loki, you're a beautiful, strong, and brave wolf. Taylor made her decision. You must accept that," Yesabel says, holding the wolf's head in her hands.
"No, you are my Luna," Loki says.
"Loki, I appreciate your love, but there's someone who's going to need you very much. I would never separate you from your pup. I only ask one favor: if it's a girl, name her Andrea. It means strong and brave. Now, my Loki, it's time for Naia to say goodbye," Yesabel says.
"I'll do as you ask, my Luna," Loki replies.
Yesabel lets her true supernatural self show. Her whole body glows, becoming a white light in the shape of a woman. That light approaches the wolf, leaving a kiss on his muzzle.
"I, Naia, last pure shapeshifter princess, reject you, Loki, as my destined mate," says a sweet voice.
"I, Loki, accept your rejection, Naia, last pure shapeshifter princess. I swear in another life to be your destined mate," Loki says.
"So be it, my Loki," Naia replies, the light slowly fading until only Yesabel remains.
Marion and Alejo are surprised; they had concealed their scents to avoid being discovered and witnessed a sad but unique scene in their entire lives.
Loki gives control back to Taylor. Yesabel moves her finger, making clothes appear on her body.
"Yesabel," Taylor is interrupted.
"Naia wanted to appear, but it's a secret. Please, Tay, I've never asked you for anything," Yesabel says.
"I know. My father was right. I've always been a fool, and I'll keep my two promises," Taylor says.
"Friends?" Yesabel asks, extending her hand in greeting.
"Friends," Taylor replies.
"I have to go back," Yesabel says.
They both say goodbye and leave, leaving the couple deep in thought.
"We can't tell anyone about this," Marion says.
"You're right. That girl is the last pure shapeshifter and belongs to royalty. Who will her father be?" Alejo says.
"Dereck has been looking for him for many years. He is the son of his best friend. When he found out about the great shapeshifter massacre, he was too late that day," Marion says.
