First day at school after long while

20th of July 2021...

Finally, school started… Well, school do started earlier, but I couldn’t go because my family members were infected by COVID-19 and was quarantine. ┐⁠(⁠´⁠ー⁠｀⁠)⁠┌I don’t know how I didn’t catch it; I didn’t even wear a mask, but still nvm…╮⁠(⁠╯⁠_⁠╰⁠)⁠╭

Anyway, when I returned to school after a year, it was a huge relief. But things had changed. like how school usually are full of noise, The usual noise of students running around before the morning assembly, playing volleyball and other games, was gone. On my first day, all I saw was silence...

YES, THE SCHOOL WAS SO DAMN SILENT!

No one was roaming around, and there was no noise. I thought maybe I was the only one at school that day, but when I went to my class

 (I mistakenly went to the 7th grade instead of the 9th, that’s different things ignore, ignore(⁠-⁠_⁠-⁠;⁠)⁠・⁠・⁠・)

Yep so, I finally saw my classmates, who were sitting far apart from each other, AND By bad luck was so bad that only girls was there in that whole CLASSROOM! The unfortunate thing was I don't even talk with any of those Girls! Where the hell had my friends gone?(⁠ノ⁠ಠ⁠益⁠ಠ⁠)⁠ノAHM… yeah. So, I quietly sat on the second-to-last bench in the third row, near the window... seriously I had never experienced such silence before; it was an incredibly awkward situation!! I missed the old, lively atmosphere so much and wondered how much things got changed.

Unfortunately I spent the whole day struggle like this.

I was having debate with myself of weather to talk with anyone or just sit quietly like this... I have self-respect as well how can I first just talk with any girl whom I never even talk beforeಠ⁠ᴥ⁠ಠ yeah so I prefer being alone... I'm not introvert but I have attitude of not talking first, no offence°-°

Then just like before I go back to home do my usual routine, make food for my grandparents(Since there was no to take care of them after they catch corona/COVID-19)

Then I come back to my room do my homework, eat dinner and sleep>>>

Few days later the same event happened nothing change so boring... but one usual day I went to school but when I enter my class then I saw a new girl sitting quietly at her desk I don't bother to look at her at all but her presence felt familiar which Making me curious, but her mask was hiding her face... And make my curiosity grow..

I just ignore it and sit at my desk a moment Later the teacher entered the class----

*Teacher*- you are new student?

*The girl*- Yes sir....

She seems pretty shy to me or maybe introvert ¿?

*Teacher*- Beta, go a head and introduce yourself.

*The girl stands up*- my Name is Maya, and I'm 14 years old…

(it's a fictional name I don'want to use the real on)

I was stunned…" Maya" this name... I knew it I know her! She was my childhood friend who changed the school at 3rd grade and rejoined now and yes she was my first crush as well, but it was childhood thing....

I was in shock that I didn't realize when I stand up on my seat and say our loud "MAYA!"

Now everyone in class turns to look at me and I felt my cheeks flush with embarrassment, everyone was laughing except her... She seemed amused rather than startled, she looks at me and I could tell by her eyes that she was smiling, even if her mouth was hidden beneath the mask. Suddenly all my worries and anxieties of being alone in class melted away.

I fall harder.... My childhood crush returns! I was so happy at least I can talk with atleast one person now.
