Renji is the kind of guy that girls would consider a "Material Boyfriend", handsome, always smelling good and well-groomed, bringing a good and fun energy wherever he goes, he is the kind of person that makes you stop and think "how can a guy like him be single?" and the answer is:

He is terrible at dating.

He doesn't know how to flirt or how to treat women, when he talks to one he always acts awkwardly and ends up saying nonsense, he treats them more as if they were his male friends, and he doesn't understand that girls don't always want to spend an entire date playing FIFA, or feel super comfortable after being left out (out of nowhere) because of a soccer game.

- Renji! - Emi came up behind Renji and hugged him, giving him a kiss on the cheek.

Emi couldn't have done worse.

Renji was with his group of friends, using the break to open Pokemon cards.

Emi talked and Renji didn't even listen to her, he kept saying "uh-huh" and "uh-huh", even after she suggested he go to her house, no response that showed interest in her.

This happened several times, especially when he was with his friends and doing things he liked, when he was alone with Emi, the only kind of subject he could sustain was about his nerdy things, making Emi feel invisible and down.

Over time, Emi distanced herself from Renji and he only realized it when she was no longer kissing him on the cheek every day like she used to.

He felt like a failure again, wondering what he had done wrong when he didn't even realize what he was doing.

Appearances can be deceiving, right? I mean, he may seem like the best kind of person to be in a relationship with, he may even seem like he'll treat you well, that he'll listen to you and that you'll have wonderful nights together! But it's all just superficial.

Speaking of superficial things, why not a superficial relationship?

Haruka started to question this after seeing that there were boyfriends for hire, where you paid them to spend time with you and the two of you pretended to love each other unconditionally, just for a few hours.

But Haruka wanted it for months.

There were some reasons for this, of course, all futile, but she was willing to pay whatever it took to pretend that someone loved her, and the following reasons are:

To know what love is (even if it's fake)

To get revenge on the guy who defamed her to the whole school by saying that she was a crazy bitch who cheated on him with several men (not true!!)

To get rid of her bad reputation and make people think that she can have a healthy and committed relationship.

Haruka doesn't date seriously, because she simply doesn't take men seriously.

In her head, all guys will disappoint her at some point, so she kisses them, holds hands, goes on dates and after 1 month ends it all.

It's true that she's had something with half the boys in school, but she's not the type to cheat, because how could she cheat when they're not even really together??
