Head Hit

On Eve's first day at her new school or our school, some kids took her breakfast, she was so small and vulnerable so they found it easy. I shared mine with her.

I didn't want to talk with anyone at school but Eve would talk to me. For the first time I felt school time was short. Other days I felt school time was very long but those days it was short maybe because of Eve. She would also not stop talking about her trip from New York boarding a plane airport and all that stuff .

One day during break time.

I was in class and heard Eve's small annoying voice.

" Give it back " she was screaming at four boys probably older than us by two years, they were in an upper class than us.They had taken her bag.

" come get it " one boy said laughing and when she reached him he threw it to another and like that they were playing with her having fun laughing. She was helpless and any moment would cry. I would have called a teacher right away but didn't .

" Give it back to her " I approached the boys.

" Who are you ? " one boy asked .

" He's my friend Will " she said in an excited tone.

If you are wondering that's the day she first called me her friend that's how I entered " The Friend Zone " I didn't hate the word 'friend' like I do right now it was actually a compliment back then and gave me some pride and morale. I swear I hate that freaking word. If I could edit the dictionary and remove some words I would start with that one.

She had hope in me to save her but those guys were four and way older than me but that didn't stop me.

I came to the boy who had the bag. He threw it to another boy they also expected me to fall for their game. I pushed him with all my energy and he fell to the ground. I rushed to the one who now had the bag. I pushed him before he could throw the bag.

He fell and I picked it and handed it to Eve.

When I turned the four boys were now pissed at me. I had ashamed them. I wanted to run but before I could. One punched me in the gut another one right on the head. I couldn't return any punch I was still adjusting to the pain in the gut. Another one on the head, chest, the punches were coming in pretty fast Eve was shouting loudly " Leave him alone "

They pushed me to the ground I remember my head hitting something hard. The boys immediately stopped hitting me, they looked scared...

Haa ! maybe they thought I was some metallic thing that I couldn't feel any pain. They ran away .

" Will... Will... are you okay " Eve said tears rolling down her checks. She threw away her bag that had caused all this and came to me .

" I'm fine" I said and felt my head hurting. Eve helped me get up but my head hurt so bad. She looked at me very worried. She brought her hand and touched the part of my head that had hit the ground.

" Ouch " I said feeling a stingy pain.

She had blood on her hand crying looking very scared . I felt some kind of liquid rolling down my left cheek it wasn't sweat this was way heavier than sweat I touched on my cheek and felt a sticky liquid there. When I saw the blood on my hand and realized it was from my head . I felt a very disturbing pain all over my head. I felt dizzy .

" Will...Will " Eve continued crying .

I passed out .

I woke up in my bed at home feeling a bit better and relaxed. When I opened my eyes Eve was right in front of me. She was sitting right besides me .

Her eyes still wet and her dress had spots of blood.

" Are you feeling better now " Eve asked me.

" I'm okay " I said . She hugged me right away .

I could hear my mom quarrelling over the phone in the next room .

" How did this happen... will you pay treatment for my son... I thought you people keep kids safe but your quite useless "

" No no.... you listen to me if anything happens to my son I will sue your school "

" And those boys who pushed my son have you found them... don't tell me any of that it will be better if they are expelled..." she finally hang up the phone .

I tried lifting my head up but it still hurt .

" Ouch " I said and touched it . I felt something soft all over . They had wrapped my head in white goose.

" Is he awake ? " mom said as she entered my room .

" Yes auntie " Eve said sniffing.

" Okay now Eve head back home " Mom said to her .

" But I don't wanna leave him alone "

My mom smiled and pulled her cheeks softly .

" He will be fine first go back home and clean yourself up"

" Can I come back after ? " she asked my mom .

" Sure " my mom smiled and patted softly on her head
