James POV:
"I can't believe that you are doing this to me!!!" I shouted angrily at my parents, mostly at my father." I am your son for God's sake." My sister was standing aside, with an unreadable expression on her face.
"You will marry him, and that is final." my father replied.
"You don't get to choose who I marry. It is my life. If you want this marriage so much, why don't you go to marry him?" I retorted with anger.
The old man's eyes darkened.
"DON'T YOU DARE SPEAK TO ME LIKE THAT, YOU LITTLE BITCH!!!! I AM YOUR FATHER AND YOU WILL DO WHAT I TELL YOU TO DO!! YOU ARE AN OMEGA AND YOU HAVE NO RIGHTS TO SAY NO TO ME!! I REGRET EVEN HAVING YOU!! DON'T THINK THAT I DON'T KNOW THAT YOU ARE STILL IN LOVE WITH THAT FUCKER!!"
I was shocked. My father, the man who always told me that it was fine to be an omega and I should be proud to be one, that I could be anything that I wanted to be, that I never had to do what I wasn't comfortable with, was saying the things that I never thought he could say. Not until this moment.
My eyes welled up with tears as I screamed at him. " YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO SPEAK ABOUT HIM LIKE THAT!! HE WAS MY LIFE!!! I FUCKING HATE YOU!! I FUCKING HATE ALL OF YOU!! YOU LIARS!! I HOPE YOU DIE AND GO TO HELL!!!!"
Then I ran up the stairs to my bedroom and slammed the door shut, locking it tightly.
I could not hold it in any longer as my tears began pouring out uncontrollably. He could not do this to me. He knew that I still loved him. So why is he doing this to me? I cried for what felt like an eternity. I have decided. I am going to run away. I cannot stay here anymore. Anything else is better compared to this shithole of a family.
The next morning, I walked down the stairs with hope. I looked at the clock. It showed 7:30. I still had an hour before work. I work at a very busy café as the manager. It has long hours, but the pay is good.
As I walked past the dining room, I saw my father seated there with a questionable look on his face. He looked up, and my eyes were met with his.
"Sit." he said.
"No need, I am going to be late for work."
"I said sit."
I sighed. No use arguing with him. As I took a seat, he began to speak. "You are forbidden from working for as long as this marriage is due."
What? Had I heard him right?
"What......What do you mean I can't go to work?"
"I know you, James. You will most likely attempt to run away. I can't let that happen."
I clenched my fists in anger. I could feel my nails digging into my palms. So I was a business deal now. A business deal with no rights.
Rule number 1. Never let anybody know you too well.
