They just entered classroom when James(Carmen's boyfriend) hooked his arm to Carmen's, pulling him away from Xander. He can see the hesitation from Carmen as she turns her head towards him. Xander gave her a timid smile ad she continues to walk toward his seat.

Where have you been? Xander's friend Jay asked him. Xander averted his gaze, instead, he just scrolled through his mobile phone. Jay's gaze, however wasn't unto him. Xander discovered immediately, and so he decided to follow and was shocked to see something for the first time inside their classroom.

Xander saw Carmen sitting on James's lap, which got some of their classmates excited, some were howling and screaming for some reason. He felt fury rise inside him, he wanted to rip James's body apart, pull out all her guts and peel him alive.

He caught a glimpse of Carmen's stare, which suddenly made him a bit calmer.

Are you alright? Jay's concerned tone shot back Xander to his senses.

What do you think, I am here watching my mate sitting on someone's lap and l can't do anything because I am weak:answered Xander!

HE IS AN ASSHOLE, murmured Jay in an irritated tone.

Anger and frustration was the only emotion that Xander felt just a while ago and looking at James made it worse. Somehow, Everything started to change when he met Carmen's gaze once again, it's an unexplainable feeling that despite having James still visible, it seemed as though he didn't have any problem at all and like a bubble, her fury disappeared in an instant. She took a deep breath and ignored the scene that's happening inside the classroom.

Classes are over and as usual Xander and Jay are walking home together, why don't you tell her that she is your mate, asked Jay.

And then what, she will reject me when she finds out that a weak man like me is her mate and not an alpha like James said Xander.

Carmen was concerned about everything because she only has a month of preparation before she becomes 18. She took a deep breath and proceeded to rub her body meticulously with her favorite body gel.

Out of nowhere, an image of Xander flashed into her mind, the way he was staring at her in class, when she was on top of James . Carmen awkwardly felt like a puppy, being controlled by her master.

Carmen proceeded to rinse her body wash despite frowning over the thoughts she just had. She spent more than an hour in her bedroom and this only fueled her uneasiness and overthinking. She spent a couple of hours thinking about her mate. Carmen was worried that her mate would not have an alpha blood, that her mate would not take good care of her. She ignored the fact that she will have a mate that is weak. Carmen stop thinking about that, the moon goddess would not be heartless to pair you up with someone who is not an alpha murmured Carmen.
