The girl followed behind him quietly, after walking for a few minutes the boy stopped and pulled the girl next to him. The girl looked around, confused. They had stopped right before a river, the girl looked up to the boy who was a few inches taller than her and he smiled. "Stay here." he instructed and let go of her hand while he walked away.
The girl followed his movements with her eyes, she watched as he took a few steps then sat down on the ground, he lied down with his arms and legs together and began rolling towards her. As he rolled lights flew up from the slightly long grass, more and more lights emerged from the ground lighting the once dark area.
The girl looked around in amazement as the little lights flew up, surrounding her. The boy got up from the ground and brushed off the loose dirt from his nice clothing. The girls face lit up and for the first time her lips curled up into the most beautiful smile the boy had ever seen.
When the girl looked over to the boy she found him staring, and once again their eyes got caught on each other. "You should smile more." The boy plainly stated, the girl's smile faded and she looked away from him, she walked over to a tree to her left and sat down leaning against it.
The girl took a deep breath and said, "I have no reason to smile more." She looked back to the boy and he walked over to where she was sitting. "Sure you do. You can smile to make others happy, you can smile to make yourself happy. And if you ever need someone to smile to, I come to this river every night at ten."
The girl looked the boy in his eyes and saw a sincerity that you don't see in people of his class nowadays, he looked wholesome, and she felt that she could trust him.
After that night the two met up every night for years, their relationship grew into something more than friendship, it evolved into something forbidden between two different people like them, love.
Things grew complex as they didn't know what to do with these newfound feelings. They decided to bottle them up and try to hide them, but love was much stronger than what they expected. As the boy grew into a fine young man many things were needed from him, the now young woman got a promotion to store manager as she had been working there for so long.
The young man got a well paying job keeping his family legacy and the young woman was finally able to live a comfortable life with her sick mother and young sister. The young woman moved up from Red class to Blue class and she was happy, but lonely. Even though she had a wonderful, loving sister, it wasn't enough for her.
As she had already experienced the feeling of love and being loved by another, she knew that at that moment she felt lonely. That night the young woman went to the river, she hadn't been there in a while due to her late shifts, but she finally got a day off. To her relief he was there, leaning up against the tree with his eyes closed.
The young woman quietly went over there and sat next to him, "It's been a while, Jack." The young man opened his eyes and the she could see the difference between the boy he was before and the man he has grown into. His jaw was now chiseled and stubble now ran along it.
The young man met eyes with the young woman, he also could see the differences that maturity and time had done to the beautiful young lady before him. She now looked well-kept with nicer clothes and a clean face. Her eyes had a sharpness to them now, she looked like she could see straight past the exterior of someone and straight into their soul.
