Victoria Hawthorne had lived a life of luxury. The only daughter of Robert Hawthorne, a billionaire business tycoon, she had never known hardship. For the next two years, I want you to live on your own—no access to your trust fund, no help from the family. You’ll need to find a job, pay your own bills, and navigate life as an ordinary person.”

Victoria’s eyes widened in shock. “You want me to live like a—” She hesitated, the words seeming foreign to her. “Like a regular person?”

“Yes,” Robert replied. “And if you can do this, truly live independently, then you’ll inherit the company and the estate. But if you fail, the inheritance will be restructured, and your position in the company will be reconsidered.”

The weight of his words settled over Victoria like a heavy cloak. She had always known that her father valued independence, but this challenge was unexpected. The thought of stepping away from the life she knew, from the comfort and security of her family’s wealth, was daunting. Yet, something within her stirred—a desire to prove herself, to show that she could rise to the occasion.

After a moment of contemplation, Victoria straightened her shoulders and met her father’s gaze. “I accept your challenge, Father. I’ll prove that I’m capable of standing on my own two feet.”

Robert’s expression softened, a hint of pride in his eyes. “I knew you would. You’ve always had a strong spirit, Victoria. This will be the making of you.”

And so, the following week, Victoria left the opulence of the Hawthorne estate behind. With only a modest amount of savings, she moved into a small apartment in the city, determined to make her own way.
