Minsoo's eyes locked onto Jihoon's, his mind reeling from the revelation. "What do you mean, you were forced into it?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
Jihoon's gaze seemed to drift away, lost in the shadows of his past. "My father was a good man, Minsoo. He wanted to leave the mafia life behind, but...but they wouldn't let him."
Minsoo's heart ached, seeing the pain etched on Jihoon's face. "Who did this to you?" he asked, his voice firm.
Jihoon's eyes snapped back into focus, his jaw clenched. "My uncle, Ji-hyun. He's the one who's been hunting us."
Minsoo's eyes widened, the pieces falling into place. "He's the one who wants to take over the mafia family."
Jihoon nodded, his eyes darkening. "And he'll stop at nothing to get what he wants."
As the fire crackled, Minsoo realized that Jihoon's past was far more complicated than he had ever imagined. And their love was caught in the crossfire.
Suddenly, a noise echoed outside, making them both jump. Jihoon's eyes locked onto Minsoo's, his voice low and urgent. "We have to go. Now."
Minsoo's world shattered as he stared at the photo in his hand. Jihoon, the man he loved, standing alongside his brother, Ji-hyun, and their father, the mafia kingpin.
A cry of anguish tore from his throat as he realized the truth. Jihoon had lied to him, again.
The cabin door burst open, and Jihoon strode in, his eyes blazing with fury. "Where did you get that?" he demanded.
Minsoo's voice trembled. "From Hye-jin. She told me everything."
Jihoon's face twisted in a snarl. "You don't understand, Minsoo."
Minsoo's laugh was bitter. "I understand perfectly. You used me to get to your brother."
Jihoon's eyes flashed with pain, but Minsoo turned away, his heart bleeding.
As he walked out into the darkness, Jihoon's voice echoed behind him. "Minsoo, please!"
But Minsoo didn't look back. He knew he had to escape, before Jihoon's lies consumed him completely.
Minsoo's heart raced as they fled through the forest, Jihoon's hand gripping his tightly. They had been ambushed, Ji-hyun's men closing in on them.
As they burst through the trees, Minsoo saw the car waiting, Hye-jin's frantic face behind the wheel. "Get in, get in!" she shouted.
But as they reached the door, a figure emerged from the shadows. Tae-oh, Jihoon's former ally, his eyes cold and hard.
"You fools," Tae-oh sneered. "You think you can escape?"
Jihoon's eyes narrowed, his voice deadly calm. "Tae-oh, you're making a big mistake."
But Tae-oh just smiled, his gun glinting in the moonlight. "I'm just getting started."
Minsoo's world went dark as Tae-oh's bullet hit Jihoon, his lover crumpling to the ground.
"No, no, no!" Minsoo screamed, his heart shattering into a million pieces.
As he fell to Jihoon's side, Minsoo knew their love was on the brink of destruction. Would they survive the betrayal, or would it tear them apart forever?
Minsoo's eyes scanned the crowded streets, his heart heavy with sorrow. He had thought Jihoon was different, but it seemed he was just like all the others - driven by power and loyalty to his family.
As he turned a corner, a hand reached out, pulling him into a narrow alley. Minsoo struggled, but the grip was too strong.
"Let me go!" he shouted, but the voice that answered was unexpected.
"Minsoo, listen to me!" Hye-jin's eyes pleaded with him. "I know you're hurt, but Jihoon loves you. He's trying to protect you."
Minsoo's laugh was bitter. "Protect me? By lying to me?"
Hye-jin's face twisted in anguish. "He was trying to keep you safe, Minsoo. From his family, from the danger that follows him."
Minsoo's eyes narrowed. "And what about you, Hye-jin? Are you loyal to Jihoon, or to me?"
Hye-jin's voice was barely above a whisper. "I'm loyal to the truth, Minsoo. And the truth is, Jihoon needs you."
Minsoo's heart wavered, unsure of what to believe.
